I was about to invest in Masterworks but after I did due diligence, I passed. Oh, I didn't use "Mr. Wonderful's" due diligence modus operendi as he did FTX.
They make it sound like a privilege that you can give them your money, right now!

Speaking of ‘due diligence’ - you should look up how Mr. O’Leary basically destroyed most of the educational software market in the 90’s, which is how he got rich. He also nearly destroyed Mattel in the process. And Bill Ackman - nearly destroyed several railroads due to his activist investing. Not exactly role-models in either case.

Masterworks is such a scam and the ad read is terrible. I don't know why you would listen to 9 in 10 investment advisors when they are all garbage and overcharge. Masterworks charges 1.5% annually which comes out of equity (no option to pay cash) AND they choose when to sell. That is such a sketchy way of charging fees and I would bet the return estimates at 3:29 have not been adjusted for dilutive effects of the fees. Conflict of interest as fuck.
Lots of other sketchy things about this company. Looking forward to seeing an exposé soon on it just like we've seen of many other popular youtube advertisers recently.

Masterworks isn't a scam but it's definitely risky; they take 3-10 years to sell a painting and art buyers are so fickle that nothing is guaranteed, even with a so-called 'blue-chip' artist. What is certain is that they charge hedge-fund-like fees!

The reason you go on shark tank is because it is one of the biggest advertising platforms there is. Even businesses that don't get a deal usually grow by a huge margin after appearing on the show. For a lot of people not getting an investment is the best thing that can happen and i know of at least one occasion where the founders dragged their feet long enough to take all the improved business but canceled the deal in the end.

This dude got lucky in the 90s, packaging shitty software and selling to people who didn't know any better. Similar to Mark Cuban's awful original sports news site, their fortunes relied on the times; what they got rich off of back then would not cut it today, not even close. I'm glad more people are realizing these guys aren't the financial geniuses their often touted as.
The way O-Leary talked when questioned already showed he doesn't believe what he is saying. He is cutting a promo. Anytime someone emotes and emphaizes words like that, and talks full of confidence, he is not telling the truth, he is talking to get a certain reaction. I never trust a guy that talks like that, wether he is selling me somehting or hitting up a girl at the bar.
Saw someone do a breakdown of each season of Dragon's Den and Shark Tank... he actually invested very little of the show's participants. He made zero deals in the first two seasons of Dragon's Den. He apparently even backed out of a bunch of deals he made on the show, once the cameras was off and the real contract stuff started; sometimes leaving other dragons/sharks to pick up the pieces of a joint deal.
I believe o'leary now is known as a crook and not to be trusted. Especially what he had done to Mattel with his junk business. Good video, thank you 👍👍

I watched a couple of Kevin's financial advice videos. I was left with the impression his biggest asset was his ego. If I would ever have a reason to go on Shark Tank, I would start my presentation with "Kevin, I'm out." On the other hand, listening to someone like Tilman Fertitta, that is a man who knows how to run a business.
Tilman Fetitta charges his own employees to use the parking garage at the Golden Nugget casino in Las Vegas. If that's your idea of someone to emulate, then I think you need to find better people to admire.

It doesn't matter what he did with the $15 million, or that he lost it. He still needs to return that amount.
He got paid $15 million in stolen customer funds. Return that amount to the bankruptcy court. If he made stupid investments and lost it, too bad for him. He still owes the $15 million. That’s why he’s trying to blame Binance, to get out of returning the stolen money.

I enjoyed a few years ago in Canada watching the "Lang and O'Leary Exchange" and Ms. Lang was one of the few people that could shove gently Kevins' pontifications right back on him. Unfortunately, Canada's CBC (govt. broadcaster) shoved Ms. Lang out and Kevin bought into US based Shark Tank and went stateside. But you can see him in these Canadian vids. for what he really is: an actor.

I've never been a fan of o'leary and never thought that he is trustworthy or have the brains and discipline of real investors like Warren Buffet or Ray Dalio..
They're both so old and slow.
Been hemorrhaging and floundering for years.
Always late to the party.
