Back in the day I was considering this and a Yamaha motif. Went with the motif. But this board still to this day is fascinating and holds up well to the test of time.
Nice, man. I have one of these, it was an inheritance item from a friend, and so far I've mostly used it as a midi keyboard for my main computer, because the keys are the best ive ever owned, and it had poly aftertouch. I think I'll dive into the manuals a bit. I can see myself getting quite a bit of use out of the sounds, and it looks like it can do an awful lot. Those drums sound great. I'm a bit concerned about using magnetic media again, but what the hell. I have hundreds of those floppies, some of them will work, surely 😂😂. Great video, thanks man. Edit oh those samples were a bit cringy.
@@crazypainter56 Korgs of that generation, including the Z1, are notorious for the display going faulty. From what I understand, it has to do with a chip, and not so much with the display itself. There are no replacements.
@@crazypainter56 Good to know. I did a little googling and there are a lot of questions about where to get replacement screens for Korgs of that generation. I hope that you won't encounter any issues. I have a Wavestation SR myself, but that has standard two line LCD display.
Thank you for your comments - I totally agree. The sound is full and rich... nowadays we seem to get all these super polyphonic synth with much more power on paper but in reality struggling to match the quality of the older synth... Thanks for watching!!!

Hello there, great video. Hopefully you can help me. I'm trying to connect my korg karma using Midi ports with an app call Sunday keys on Apple store. My question is.... do I need to install a Driver or it should work fine if I'm using the proper hardware? I got audio interface, midi cables, USB cable but nothing works. Please if you can respond to my answer
Hi there. Thank you for your question. I am not sure I understand the question correctly - let me confirm a few things first: 1. Do you want to use KARMA as a controller or do you also want KARMA to play sounds from the app? 2. What sound card do you have? 3. What do you connect MIDI IN and OUT of your KARMA to and how (OUT of KARMA to what?) Once you let me know about those I might be able to advise you a bit more. Thanks
Hello, i'm Angel I have a Korg Karma also and its hasa the greatest sounds!!!. I just want to know how to store my favorites sounds or performance during live performance?
Thank you for your question. I am afraid I would not have the answer for you. I never done any live performances with these type of keyboards - I mostly work in my home recording studio. Sorry that I could not be any more helpful. Thanks for watching!!!
I usually just store them to bank C or D (as I don't have EXB-PCM) and edit to match what I need. I then sometimes copy them multiple times, so I can just increment x1 throughout the performance and get the patch I want.
Impressive for a Keyboard Workstation that is 23 Years Old I love some of the Sounds - I can get a Karma for like 350€ to 400€ in my Country is it a Good Deal for that Price?
Thank you for your comment! I think it is a good value for money. KARMA is very rich sounding and can produce really nice sounds!!! Thank you for watching!
