They rehearsed for weeks at Sting's house in Italy before they did all this, but the act of "remembering" is pretty good. I like when Sting says, "Oh yeah, I remember this, I'm 24 and angry."
As a high school drummer, I remember spending hours playing to their first four albums, constantly. Stewart was my absolute favorite! However, after watching this a couple times now, and listening to Stew's constant chirping and chiming in, I can see where he could of drove the other two crazy. Still one of my favorites of all time!
I think that was pretty good for not having played the song together in 24 years. I did find it amusing how Sting was shouting out the chords and Andy was turning to him as if to say "I know the song asshole!" And the banter between Sting and Stewart is always enjoyable.
Fortunate to see the The Police live twice in 1980 and they changed my whole view on music.Amazing news they back after 22 years, don't miss them, they still rock and look surprising well for 50 something year olds fantastic...

I grow Up with Police music, my parents played again and again in the end of the 70´s, so my thirth word that I sayed was Roxane. Now I´m a drummer, obviously because stwewart copeland, I can´t belive this, they ara togetter again!!! (come to mexico please guys, please)
What a fascinating band, they still are! I love this memory inducing/improvisation part! It's so dynamic and spontaneous! Awesome! Thanks for putting it up!
Saw both shows in Atlanta. These guys are amazing. I need to see them again. Best concert i've ever seen, better than the sychronicity tour because it was the 3 of them, core police!
Seattle was indeed sweet last night! I big improvement from the Fan Club Dress Rehearsal. I *LOVE* the guitar climax in Reggatta, especially live in person! Excellent blending of modern distortion w/ classic Police!
How can people say that this is bad? That's absolutely amazing..I forgot how unique were The Police..too many bad Sting's albums..and this is so good and emotional to find words..
I love this. They are terrific musicians getting back in the groove. By tour's end they will be sooooooooo tight. Hope they record an album. who knows?
saw them in toronto and i have to say i was surprised with the quality of their performance sting sang really well, too bad my section was REALLY boring i got told to sit down and when i came back from getting a coke, some lady in my section told me that she wouldnt get up for me to get in or out again.
Sad enough, as an almost grown up, I don`t get too often impressed by stuff. Anyway, I have always liked the Police and Sting. But after seeing their concert on HD, (2008 south America) I was knocked out by them all. Just wow! Impressed WELL!
Saw them 8/3 in MSG. Great show, Sting mentioned last time they played there was 1982 - was at Shea Stadium with a little known band R.E.M. opened for them.
You mean the transition into Regatta de Blanc? That ee-ey-oo part has been there since the beginning. They only started invorporating that instrumental into Can't Stand Losing You in '79.
What can you say? Three old friends having fun and taking the p*** a bit. Late 70’s, early 80’s new wave / rock n and roll (and the sort of reggae thing they did.) Plus the ‘Oh yes, I’m 24 and I’m angry’ ... Great stuff … if you are of a certain age, or hopefully any age.
I was totally obsessed by The Police since Roxanne,I was just 15,never could afford to go to their concerts,OR would have been allowed to at that age by my strict father.Well, thanks Daddy, you saved me money and suffering this sort of stuff, excellent musicians but Sting & Copeland are so self absorbed when they play live, always have been.Andy was ok,(No coincidence that that was my Dads name!!)Much preferred the studio stuff.Still do.
Muy buen concierto, en lo particular, me da gusto que un grupo como The Police, nos de la oportunidad de escucharlos otra vez, espero los pueda ver por acá también.
Who cares? They got older, they set all this technical help (and baggage) aside and I see three top notch musicians catching the peak. It IS damn good and they have fun, and me too!
On the album andy uses clean tone + chorus + about 300ms delay. Towards the end of the song he uses distortion + flange (after the yay yo bit). Hope this helps

No the other way around, that is in february 2007 before going to Italy for reharsal...

It's hysterical to hear Copeland yelling out the chord changes. Still the gods of rock.
He once said in an interview that it is his job to tame Gordon's ego.
Brilliant, love regatta da blanc within this song . Amazing
i'm following u guys for 25 years now and i really can't stand losing you.........damn, i miss u guys in the limelight......
It's amazing how they sound so good and so fresh after all those years. And I grew up with them.
Unbelivable.
Cheers.

Stop arguing folks!. Just listen to one of the best rock/pop/ska band in the music history!
The Police... the only rozzers ur ever gonna love... takes me all the way back to a miss spent youth... fantastic
How awesome are The Police? Only discovered them recently but I'm addicted
I still love Andy Summer's strumming, and that twang, is still on point!
These guys were always great together, even if they didn't know it!

Super music Men.
-I get chill everytime I hear The Police.

Yes! We all are! :)
I saw them in NYC Aug. 1 and they were AWESOME! Better than the last time I saw them in '84.
Thank god this was the rehearsal.

Awesome! Raw version but hard Police style! Rules! 💥🤘👏😎🔥Regards from Peru.

He was full of it Stewart. Such energy.
Maaaan.. That Copeland can drum...... Pure jazz drumming.
Agreed. It was all in good fun. Not to mention Stewart has written several tunes with the Police. Miss Gradenko for one.
thank you
thanks for all the music Sting -- and thank you for reuniting these guys! I'd like to see how much money is being donated to chairy from the tour.
he really means every single shot on his drum, he is not pretending that he does, he really does
Whoaaa.... it started rusty with Andy forgetting the guitar key, but when it starts, it just flowed. Just MAGIC.....
!!the police=my life!!
Word is that when Sting pissed off Andy Summers, which I'm led to believe was quite often, Andy used to refer to him as Gordon ha ha.
My favorite version
Saw them yesterday on Jones Beach Theatre it was awesome.
"Come on guys!!!" Ah this is heaven on earth.
Outrageous sounds!
Pure Police...
this is my favorite police song
such a master maestro. they still managed to pull it while vague remember the whole song.
awesome.
Nice post, looks like they had a lot of fun.
Grandissimi, grandissimi, grandissimi

Saw this in Hollywood so gooooooood!!!!
Yes. Whisky-A-Go-Go when they announced the reunion tour and did a little rehearsal.
I love this. They are terrific musicians getting back in the groove. By tour's end they will be sooooooooo tight. Hope they record an album. who knows?

Best Police cover band ever!
That's the intro to Reggatta de Blanc as the Police always did when they performed these two songs together live!
going to see them this saturday night in edmonton
"It's all coming back to me ... I know what to do ... I'm 24 and I'm mad ..."
I think they "can't stand each other"!
the perfect band
@dpa2008
Surely one of the best.
They're still better than 95% of the rock bands out there.
Stew Calling Out Everything..LOL. I Love Stew!
I love the Police. The Sychronicity Concert was the first thing I ever owned (still have it.) Honestly though....they look tired.

The drummer remembers the chords, that's why.
Andy Summers is a great guitar 🎸 player.
the police rules!and also stewart is one of the best drummers in the world!
Yeah! Great jump there by Andy
amazing
yeah, STEWART Copeland is also a very good drummer for the Police ;-)
sting will never change he will be the police
Ha ha, love the way they found their way through that! Bloody Awesome band 5*
It's in D, Andy!
It's good that Andy is using his clone of his old modded Telecaster here(with the pre-amp boost).
Who cares? They got older, they set all this technical help (and baggage) aside and I see three top notch musicians catching the peak.
It IS damn good and they have fun, and me too!
Sting got all the ink, but Stew Copeland WAS the Police! God, What a GREAT DRUMMER !!!!
amo a stewart
es hermoso :)
y a todos :D

On the album andy uses clean tone + chorus + about 300ms delay.
