As someone who played in chess tournaments regularly I love the insight into another strategic game that involves more than two players. Do you ever notice even skilled players let the emotion of being attacked by another person sacrifice proper strategy?
Sometimes people attack you in anticipation of the proper “strategic” move which is why emotional plays can be often justified as it can act as a deterrent
You should have a heart rate monitor going on during these games that shows up on the screen, it'd be interesting to see the difference in early, mid, and late game

Rightly so btw the tactics are not easy and pro risklooks different then amateur - the hallmark of a sport. Which also exploded lately! They made a crucial error missing the kill on Orange. But that happens. I was more surprised that Synn didn't break him more on the turn immediately before Alves hit the 70%.

Historically I like red because it's threatening. In public competition I actually prefer white for the opposite reason. But I'm not super hung up on which colour I have to use. Except yellow.

When you said he slow rolled and lost troops, do you mean he rolled only one or 2 dice as the attacker so as not to have to move in a 3? or is there some adjusted dice rolls in the game? I haven't finished the game I'm watching the beginning. At the 8:20 mark you show the values and I'm wondering why you didn't go for the north island. When you made the choice I only saw 10 enemy material in that area with you having 3-2 stacks connecting then your material. I'm just curious why you went with that choice over the north Island. You also might of won this all. But I wanted to see your thought process in that moment if you can remember what happened that far back. Thanks and enjoying the games.
@@TheKillPeteStrategy Watching the game play out I think you would of done better on the top island. But "Tim" did have an incredible lucky run that allowed him to win so even this might not have mattered. Just the way your material was at the start if you go North instead of south you would of been able to consolidate more positions with less moves, Which could of been a factor that leads you to the Championship game. Hindsight is 20/20 though. I just think it was a missed opportunity and wanted to see if there was reason behind the move.

I did air game seven but yeah, did not make the finals.
A slow roll is when you toggle blitz off and roll the dice one at a time.
