The best thing about this channel is that on all your demos you always play good music on the guitars! Unlike most where they play all this heavy metal solo shit that does the guitar no justice. Defitnlety the best guitar channel in the world; Thankyou.
MooseFactoryFilms We appreciate the kind words! There are lots of guitar demos on TH-cam so we try to give you something a little unique. Keep watching!
Kenton Schroer Truly incredible instruments, especially for the really reasonable prices they ask. And Reverend couldn't be a cooler company to deal with.
Joel, great demo. Your enthusiasm is infectious...:) I'm an old guy who took up guitar a few years back and your attitude makes me want to practice more...:)
Dude Joel, those were some beefy riffs man. Those tonal changes you made at 3:30 and 4:07 were freakin gnar. Your playing makes me want to buy this baritone, other reviews don't even compare haha
Useful description and demonstration of how the Railhammers affect the response of the different strings. Also a solid overview of the controls, and of the general ergonomics. There are a lot of reviews around that leave out these important details, and end up leaving viewers frustrated. This isn't one of them. I'd guess this baritone may feel pretty close to a standard-scale guitar, as you say -- pretty sure the scale length is about 1"-2" shorter than what I've seen listed for some of the others out there. Pleasantly surprising, in light of the shorter scale, that the string response isn't noticeably floppy. This looks like a winner in concept and execution. I need to try...
This review, and that second riff bit when you turn up the top knob all the way at 3:48 and then switch to what i assume is the neck pickup at 3:54, completely sold me on this guitar. Absolutely incredible. Would someone mind posting the chords he's playing in that 5ish note progression; bit of a guitar noob here :)
Gosh this is cool. Next to impossible to find this color anymore. I like that Reverend keep their colors fresh, but there are some staples/classics that they should just keep in rotation. The articulation of the guitar with gain in this video was surprisingly low. Usually I would say that's due to a game pedal instead of using natural amp overdrive, but I haven't had that problem with this Greer.
You guys should get in contact with Balaguer guitars and check out some of their stuff, I'd like to see a proper review of their stuff (only mentioning because I'm considering a baritone jazzmaster - either building my own from Warmoth, buying a Balaguer Growler, or this if I want to step out from the JM platform a bit)
Maaaaaaaaaaan! That's some serious sound going down there, I know my next guitar now. Thank you so much for this review. I think this is the 4th time that I watch it in a couple of weeks and it still hits the bug to get me a baritone. I loved those riffs you were playing! Can't get them out of my head. I've been looking around and couldn't find that colour you are using on the review, I just found that coffee burst flame maple. Do you know if there any of the ones you reviewed around? Do you have them at the shop?
Joel, I think you should just deed poll your name to "Riff Factory" ;) When's the next Royale stuff gonna hit the streets? ALATML is the best debut I've heard in years. Come play Dublin sometime, ok?!
Pete Clarke Thanks for the kind words! I'm proud of the album for sure, and there will be more music coming soon too so keep a look out. - Joel "Riff Factory" Bauman
The yakking was extensive though interesting. Need more playing. In the clean section there was some harsh ringing tones on a higher string... Not sure if it was something in the setup or an amp problem. Definitely sounded great with the added dirt. Maybe demo on an amp that has pricing for mere mortals? Things a purchaser is likely to have...
For whatever it's worth, I bought one of these a few months ago. I play through an audio interface into the free version of Amplitube 5 (using headphones because I live in an apartment) and comparable tones are pretty easily achievable with some tinkering with the free amp and cab sims. I've also played it through an Orange Micro Terror and a Blackstar HT112, and honestly, you'd have to put in some effort to make this guitar sound bad.
Really want to love this Reverend guitar but the rock tones I've heard in this and other videos are muddy for my tastes.. Cleans are good but I need both...
Michael Molavi That's actually a riff I've been messing around with for my band Royale. I like to work out new material in these demos and see what people think of them. Sounded especially awesome on the Descent Baritone. Probably gonna be picking one of these up REALLY soon. Reverend is the shit.
Hey Joel! This guitar is freaking awesome! Riff from 5:30 sounds really similar to opening from song White is Red from Death From Above 1979? Am I right or is it just a coincidence?
I'd never heard of The Band Royale before this vid, now I'm playing your tracks like 24/7. Are the riffs in this vid from a TBR song or just sweet sweet jams?
magnuz negator It would probably feel pretty weird given that the scale is a bit longer than normal (although the Descent isn't quite as long a scale as most). I would just stick to either baritone strings or REALLY heavy normal strings.
The gain comes from the greer southland and the pedal is always on in the demo. The descent also sounds very specific to me.

ahh you mean the walrus descent ? i'll check it out thanks :) ... the greer southland doesn't have so much gain right? so i guess there is a bit drive on the two rock too the drives it even further and the combinations sounds really good i think :)
the southland starts where the lightspeed ends. it has a lot of gain on tap. check the demos out. i assume that the two rock was set crystal clean and I was talking about the Reverend Descent when I said "descent" ;)
this is one of the best sounding guitar / amp combination i have ever heard
🤘🤘
Same, I remember watching this video in 2016 and I still come back to it.
Geordie Greep was here
what a magnificent purpose
purpose
thats why im here haha
this is the scene on youtube when geordie greep came to town
He was hereby discharged too
That first riff had a little Smashing pumpkins feel in it to me
Definitely but I can't quite point my finger one which song would be the closest. Cherub rock?
Billy did a video advertising the EHX Big Muff Op Amp Pi. He played some of the same chords on his signature Reverend.
always with the one open string and the nice major melody on the next higher string, thats the SP formula
I literally was just thinking that and then two seconds later I see your comment

@@PDXguitarfreak thank you for gracing us with your opinion
Just bought a reverend recently and I just can't get over how fantastic they are. They make great guitars and the baritones are sweet.
Kenton Schroer Truly incredible instruments, especially for the really reasonable prices they ask. And Reverend couldn't be a cooler company to deal with.
play bmbmbm
Play john l
This is as a matter of fact my favorite guitar, amp and pedal demo on TH-cam.
BLACK MIDI
geordie greep got me here

Hell fire!
This such a killer riff fucking hell. That guitar is a beaut too. Hell of a demo Joel holy shit.
That's such a great riff, love DFA1979

That bass cut knob seems so perfect for doom metal tones
I have to say, I've seen and heard a lot of demos on youtube for guitars but holy fucking shit. This guitar sounds glorious.
Love the DFA 1979! Sounds huge
Eimhin Murphy Just saw them on Friday night at the Bottom Lounge and they sound even more massive live. Wall of Death bass tone.

this guitar riffs with a purpose.
1:32 love that jam in the background!
I can't imagine keeping a baritone with a trem in tune! I'm sure they did their homework, but man, that's some tension!
Nice DFA 1979 there at the end
Great use of the words, "girth" and "sizzle", Joel!
This guitar is unbelievable.
Mine arrived on Thursday! Sounds amazing!
Great video btw
Aaron Taylor Thanks, Aaron!

I'm eyeing up the purple descent!
where can I find that presenter now a days? that guy was real good to watch, great riffs, great tone, to the point talking!
Black midi
Oh my the riff at 3:47, it sounds like a motorbike almost i love it. Filth.
Love that opening riff and the great tone!!!
Friiiiiiik. That sounded awesome.

this sounds stunning
my lord the sound
That crunch @3:47, sweet lord.
cool guitar... would love to hear this on a Bogner Helios
This is all I ever wanted a guitar to sound like. When am I going to get a baritone?
Maaaaaaaaaaan! That's some serious sound going down there, I know my next guitar now. Thank you so much for this review. I thought that first riff was The Creeper by Pelican
Killer demo! 🤘
great playing
Joel, I think you should just deed poll your name to "Riff Factory" ;) When's the next Royale stuff gonna hit the streets? ALATML is the best debut I've heard in years. Come play Dublin sometime, ok?!

+Pete Clark Thanks!
3:47
That was very "Oceansize" of you. Like the "The Charm Offensive" in a different key.
okay... now I'm interested in Two-Rock amps
Wow! Sickest friggin tone!! Like a humongous Orge riding on a stupid big draggon man!!rrraaaaahhhh
What's the riff in 3:10?
well, i found my guitar
Dope tones
Awesome!!!

Beautiful guitar i'ld like to try someday.
Are the tabs from the intro available?
Great riff!
Is the intro a song? I really liked it
Yep me too , hope someone knows that song
Yeah me too. That is a great riff.Nice tone !
Says in the description that Joel made it himself ;)
Michael Molavi That's actually a riff I've been messing around with for my band Royale. I like to work out new material in these demos and see what people think of them. Sounded especially awesome on the Descent Baritone. Probably gonna be picking one of these up REALLY soon. Reverend is the shit.
Joel Bauman Pleasssse use this material for a new song:) Love that riff *-*
Are these available in Europe???
Wow Joel a baritone works great for your style, do you plan on using any for your band stuff with Royal?
Dude that Last Licks sounds just like reptilia by The Strokes but slowed down that is way too cool man.
Same key a couple of the same notes that is a really cool sound you're getting some natural harmonics happening overtones too
Joel

Hey Joel!
This guitar is freaking awesome!

+chicagomusicexchange What's the name of riff at 3:10
Wicked Joel!
Now my third viewing... can't quit those two riffs!
Please tell me that's a Band Royale song
The one at the end is a song by Death From Above 1979 called white is red
Any idea what he's playing from 0:00-2:47?
bassplayinggoalie smashing pumpkin song i believe
It sounds kinda Corgan-plays-the-baritone, doesn't it? But then again it could easily be a Royale track too. Any idea which Pumpkins song/record?
bassplayinggoalie it's not a pumpkins song, I would know haha. It says it's an original Joel riff in the description
great:)
I like it!
I'd never heard of The Band Royale before this vid, now I'm playing your tracks like 24/7. Are the riffs in this vid from a TBR song or just sweet sweet jams?
+Joel Bauman
I want one so bad
do the bass strings feel strange? do you have to play it more slowly than normal?
Please tell us what tuning you're playing in. Kinda frustrating trying to guess...I'm guessing A# or B? I would say a B. Thanks for your video. :)
What is the pedal being used here?
What gauge use? Work in standard tuning ?
Nice playing and cool guitar. One question...iPhone6 or Note?
Can you put non baritone strings on a baritone guitar?
magnuz negator It would probably feel pretty weird given that the scale is a bit longer than normal (although the Descent isn't quite as long a scale as most). I would just stick to either baritone strings or REALLY heavy normal strings.
Joel Bauman thanks
The outro sounds like smashing pumpkings, really cool by the way
How I wish my country has a dealer for this. I've watched this video so many times it's unhealthy.
Me toooo :(
That feeling when you recognise a song he plays...
Is this guitar good for playing some Chevelle?
leo liuwa through something like a Mesa I bet it would get you kind of close to that sound.
DEATH FROM ABOVE👌👌👌
5:50
I like how you made 24 fret bass song in a guitar song. Btw thanks to royals for following me on Twitter @TokenKhan
nooooo why is this amp so expensive ^^ can something recommend me a pedal or a amp with that gain structure and cheaper? ^^
The gain comes from the greer southland and the pedal is always on in the demo. The descent also sounds very specific to me.
ahh you mean the walrus descent ? i'll check it out thanks :) ... the greer southland doesn't have so much gain right? so i guess there is a bit drive on the two rock too the drives it even further and the combinations sounds really good i think :)

by the way...sprichst du deutsch? haha
ja scho :D hmmm ja ich check nochmal die videos vom southland an aber welches descent pedal meinst du?
That original riff kills, man. Hit me right in the gut/loins/whatever.
I swear that first riff sounded like an undiscovered smashing pumpkins song
I just came again and I didn't need ten minutes to recharge.
RAUNCHY!
If you like baritone guitar then check out the band Torche
How can one call a 26.75 a "Baritone"
starting riff sounds like smashing pumpkinsssss
by the way..this sounds like mastodon a lot
oooh I definitely can hear it- would make sense, considering that they tune crazy low to like C# standard or something 🤣
think i peed myself a lil bit when he cranked the od
>in my opinion without a doubt
First like and comment
´tuning?
All salad body?!
Third
Play it clean so we can hear what this guitar really sounds like.
Ben Affleck
That sounds bad. and dont sound good.
