- Boss ME-5 is awesome selection of vintage Boss pedals in one unit. Mostly analog. Basically a CS-2, EQ, DS-1/SD-1, CE-3/BF-2, DD-3/RV-2 in a single pedal with the ability to store presets, as well as midi switching, performance mode, etc.

I used to run everything through that FX processor, guitar, bass, drum machine. I got some pretty awesome recording on my 4 track from back in the early 90’s.
But i dont believe it. Great tones outa this lol

I have lots of expensive gear and still love my ME-5 and use it live. Makes me very happy in front of my VOX AC30CC2X with Blue Alnicos. Analog circuit will always be up-to-date unlike lots of digital gear. Me-5 is midi controllable, so we can make very cleaver guitar systems with it.

Great! I bought one new in the 80's and stil use it once and awhile. It's a great device with great sounds. A couple of years ago I had to replace the little knobs on the mainboard but beside of that it still sounds and functions great. Nice review and great playing.
COULD BE WHY YOU NEVER MADE IT IN MUSIC. STOP PLAYING FOR A WHILE AND DO PRODUCTION DEVELOP YOUR EARS FOR TONE.

Such a sleeper pedal!! I own 3 of them one of them since I started playing guitar. I use mine in the effects loop of my Boss GT1000. The compressor in this unit...so nice...I cant live without it and in combination with my GT1000 I van have 2 reverbs in one patch so that's handy.

sabes que cuando activo el compressor mete ruido como si tuviera mucha ganancia, bajo los volumenes pero sigue, estará defectuoso ese efecto? sabes si con alguna configuracion se solucionará?
The distortion sound at 0:45, is that mode three or mode two? I can’t get a sound remotely close to that in mode three out of mine.

None of the circuits is an exact clone of the mentioned pedals. They're similar, but they have their own character. The delay might be the non-existent DD-4, but in that case, I like the DD-3 better...
What about ce2 chorus is that similar?
I don't believe it's the SD1, I think it's actually supposed to be the OD2, Turbo Overdrive. Same as the GP8, only this one has analog chorus/flange, where the GP8 has digital chorus, no flange, BUT analog phaser.

I have the Boss Me8 and it keeps changing to the tuner by itself, what could it be??
I would suggest cleaning all buttons and footswitches with a contact cleaner

I had the ME6 and it was garbage although it could be I didn't know what I was doing. I still have it somewhere in my closet so maybe I should pull it out for some 80's vibes.

давай может пришлю Ibanez PT-5 - та же тема от Ибанеза. Я лично торчу от этой серии. Потому что по сути к аналогу подсунули цифровое управление. Тон не ушёл, а пресеты добавились.
через месяцок вполне можно)
ME-5 - аналоговая мультипедаль(!!!) , кроме задержки, задержка цифровая. Управление у нее цифровое. Такова еще ME-10 гораздо более редкая, у ME-10 страшный заводской косяк! Там стоят SMD электролиты, которые просто со временем лопаются и вытекают! Поэтому 99% ME-10 нерабочие, имел счастье 2 купить сломанных, так и не починил до сих пор.
Ibanez PT-5 - это на самом деле Maxon PS-5, там не совсем аналог а преобразование AD-DA, как скажем в Maxon PS3. Таковые еще были BOSS ME-6 и ME-8 и еще одна мультипедаль, уже не помню может ME-33.
Так что начиная от первой супер мультипедали Boss BE-5, ME-5 и ME-10 полностью аналоговые, кроме задержки.
Таковая же аналоговая Maxon PUE-5, у нее тоже только задержка цифровая, все BOSS-ы она уделывает по звучанию!
Короче эти мультипедали звучат гораздо круче современного новодела, я в этом собаку съел, их все чинил и они у меня есть.
У ME-5 слабое место кнопки тактовые, но они стоят гроши и их заменить полчаса.
Еще Aria делал полностью аналоговую мультипедаль APE-1! Там даже задержка аналоговая, звучит офигенно просто. APE-2 и APE-3 цифровые уже.
Потом еще была модульная система KORG PME-40 , там 15 модулей было, из низ всего два цифровых. Тоже покруче BOSS звучит пожалуй.
Полностью аналоговая мультипедаль еще была AXL FX-RAP5, раритет, но кажись китайское производство.
Потом стали подобное лепить современные новоделы, кажись это все отстой получился. Мне это уже не интересно.

ME-5 is an analog multi-pedal (!!!), except for the delay, the delay is digital. Its control is digital. Such is also the ME-10 much rare, the ME-10 has a terrible factory jamb! There are SMD electrolytic capasitors ( new technology in 1988) that just burst and leak out over time! Therefore, 99% of ME-10 are non-working, I was lucky enough to buy 2 , and I have not fixed them yet.
Ibanez PT-5 is actually a Maxon PS-5, there is not exactly an analog, but an AD-DA conversion, as we say in Maxon PS3. There were still BOSS ME-6 and ME-8 and another multi-pedal, I don't remember maybe ME-33.
So starting from the first super multi-pedal Boss BE-5, ME-5 and ME-10 are completely analog, except for the delay.
The same analog Maxon PUE-5, it also has only a digital delay, it does all the BOSS's in sound!
In short, these multi-pedals sound much cooler than a modern pedals, I ate a dog in this, I fixed them all and I have them.
The ME-5 has a weak point, the clock buttons, but they cost pennies and they can be replaced in half an hour.
Aria also made a fully analog multi-pedal APE-1! There's even an analog delay, it sounds awesome simple. APE-2 and APE-3 are digital already.
Then there was the KORG PME-40 modular system, there were 15 modules, only two digital ones from the bottom. Also, BOSS sounds cooler, perhaps.
A fully analog multi-pedal was still AXL FX-RAP5, a rarity, but it seems to be Chinese production.
Then they began to sculpt modern models like this, it all seems to suck. I'm not interested anymore.

@@djglukbh ME-5 - отличная мультипедаль, советую купить, если нет. МОжно за 50$; найти, обычно там кнопки поменять нужно в педалях, можно очиститель контактов залить, но это хуже. Только они бывают на 115 для США и 220 вольт, у меня к сожалению американский транс, куплена там моим дружком для меня в свое время.
Вот ее продавать я точно не буду. Первая такая у меня была и есть BE-5, там офигенный компрессор(лучше всех CS-1 CS-2 CS-3) обалденный хорус, круче самого легендарного CE-2, и шумодав крайне эффективный с одной ручкой. При этом поганый прототип OS-2 и обычная цифровая задержка, но есть гнезда разрыва (Loop) после компрессора, так что можно крутой дист-драйв врубить и все!

Hellooo? The Boss ME-5: is 100% a DIGITAL effects processor, not AN Analog effects processor! The A/D/A circuit is for outboard effects Send and Return loop, as well as certain MIDI plugs and patches at the time. I bought mine when they first got released to the public @1988 while I was a full time pro musician gigging, and still have mine. As my dad used to say, "if you don't know what you're talking about, don't talk at all". DUH!
Your father was absolutely right, it's a pity that you didn't listen to him.
It is necessary to understand the difference between digital effect and digital control of analog effect. For example, the Roland Jupiter 8 is an absolutely analog VCO synthesizer with digital controls and presets. This is a common practice among synthesizers and rare among guitar effects.

Full time pro musician will be able to immediately notice two small MN chips, closer to the center of the board, which indicate that the chorus is clearly analog. The digital effect in this processor is delay/reverb. So, if you don't know what you're talking about, don't talk at all :)

Its has analog effects, however it’s controlled digitally
