I really like that you keep using that Harley Benton Enhanced Bass for your demos. Shows that you can produce something great with affordable/"cheap" gear.
He has modded it with some better stuff though. I used to have a MP-4MN. Really good basses, but the pre-amp sucks. The bridge humbucker was also quite weak and bright, while the Precision humbucker was way too powerful and muddy. They are great as mod platforms though. However, I just can't get along with flimsy jazz bass necks. It probably would have been more stable if it wasn't a one piece neck. I replaced the pre-amp with a Glockenklang 3-band, the bridge humbucker with a Seymour Duncan SMB4D and did some fret work on it to make it play better. Even then it just couldn't compete with some other budget friendly basses I have. The best out-of-the-box Harley Benton I've played were the Jazz basses with Gotoh hardware that they sold for just a short while (MV-4JB I think they were called). A friend of mine bought one, and when I finally played it and thought that I might have to get one as well, they had already been discontinued.
Thanks! The bass I'm using here is a prototype of my upcoming signature bass with Harley Benton. I'm still working through certain specs to make it exactly what I want. The latest update is, both pickups will be humbuckers, and I just modified the dimensions of the finger ramp for better functionality. I'm stoked to make it available for everyone once it's done, hopefully sometime this year. Until then, I'll keep playing the prototypes to put them through their paces and find worthwhile revisions.
Hell. It doesn’t matte which bass or pedals Nate plays. He always sounds so good ❤ and then I buy the pedal myself unbox and face reality. 😢 need to practice. 😂
Awesome demo as always, Nate 😎🤘🏻🎸 this multi-effects processor sounds phenomenal. The dark drive model sounds killer and the chorus effect sounds sweet.
I have been thinking about a Genzler cab since before the 2nd version came out. then you demo the new boss multi floor unit. I have a G Flex 2x12 cab for guitar. bravo! got to get your whole set up....thanks for being so awesome,.
You are a ferocious player, your bursts of twitchy speed are attention grabbing as well as inspiring and even when you're going mental its still got very musical phrasing. The fx unit sounds great too. Good work dude.
How fast does the pitch shifter respond? Let's say I want to use it for a basic E to Eb half step detune. If it's as good (better even?) than a Digitech drop, it makes great sense to get this, or something like a Zoom MS60B.
I love the fact that this thing has a blend knob for sending some dry signal through should one want to. My pet peeve on all bass effects. But I think they really missed the mark by not having some drum loops in this. A modelling multieffect is a great practice amp / noodle tool replacement and had they included that, I would've got one of these. Now? Nope, I'd rather go for one or two stompboxes that do exactly what I want as none of them have boss printed on them..
That's a tough one! For a Fly Rig, I'm going with the ME-90B. It has many sounds and they're easy to access. I really like the interface. For a spot on a bigger pedalboard with MIDI control, I'm going with an HX Stomp or H90. These both go a little deeper tonally, and I prefer their synth features. On a budget, the POD Express is a contender.
Hi Nate, thanks for another great gear demo! I'd like to ask, what do you use to get the drums for your backing tracks? I really like how you're able to get the drums to hit along with specific things you're doing in your grooves. Thanks!
Thanks, man! I program my drums in Logic Pro X, and I mostly use the included drum samples. I also use "Aggressive Rock" by GetGood Drums for heavier parts, and I chop up samples from Splice for electronic parts.
Am I the only person that automatically hits the "Thumbs Up" button when starting Nathan Navarro Videos without listening to the whole video, first? I hit "Like" within 10 seconds because I know what he has is going to be "Fire AF."

Not having an AUX input sucks, and I hate how Boss is forcing you to use the Bluetooth adapter that does not even connect the right way. I sent mine back.
When I played in the 90s people thought like that. Started again in 2019 and glad this attitude is mostly gone. I'm a fingerstle player at heart, but am learning to use a pick because it can do things by fingers can't. Your fingers can't either.

@@NateNavarro Wooohooo, nice. Congrats! Gonna save some money for that one
@@NateNavarroa signature HB, that’s great news !! Hope you’ll be able to make it not too heavy ✌️
@@enhabeer THIS!!
Everybody did a demo on this and you're the only person that actually covered all the options well. 🎉
Your demos are simply better than everyone else's.
Not just the exemplary playing, but the clear demonstration of the gear
Yo actually got the perfect pino tone with the fretless effect
I just got mine - but I do wish more demos would dive into the expression pedal more. I hate reading manuals hahaha. I love the tone of this thing!
Finally! Tnks Nate

Thanks. Less talking, much information in 10 min 😊
You had me at DEFRETTER❗🤯
Boss always had nice ‘defreter’ effects, but this one, wow!😳

Mine arrived today.. great review Nate. !!

Oh yes.. tasty playing. Great demo
Got the 9 recently.. it’s brilliant
What is the range of the pitch shifter?
Harley Benton is makin some awesome basses lately 🎸
Man, this was so sick. Thank you.
What's the difference between amp simulators and IRs?
Hi Nate, where do you buy your finger ramps ? Thanks for Info and best regards from Bavaria !
Perfect demo :) Can You compare it with BOSS GT-10B? Now I've pulled it out again after a long time and I'm playing it.
Fretless preset available? Thx
Great video! If you had to pick between this and the HX Stomp, what works you choose?

@@NateNavarro what do you think about this one and zoom b6?
@@NateNavarrothank you for being a champ for the bass community
That dark drv tone is straight outta bfg division 🤘
Modeled after Dark Glass OD
Hey Nate, how about the latency and tracking on the Tune Down/Pitch Shift? I mean like E Flat?
Hey! Negligible latency, and no artifacts on this one - it's totally gig-worthy!

@@NateNavarro Very cool, thanks for the reply! Love your stuff!
Okay, I need this
How is the pitch shifter for tuning down? Good enough to gig?
It's definitely good enough to gig with. Sounds great, and negligible latency.
@@NateNavarro Thanks mate
Awesome ❤❤❤❤
Sounds like a whole band is playing but it’s just a drum track and Nate 😂

Yes you are the only person

What bass is this ? It has a nice tone… besides the playing from this bass master..
Harly Benton

No envelope follower sadly
ME-90B does have an Envelope Filter.
No pick use- approved review ✅
What’s wrong with using a pick?
Pick starts at 4:43 😉
