The curve has suction, the catch does not. So yes, you can just put the curve in your bra with no suction and use it like the catch! But it’s more expensive and works much better when the suction is applied.
I love how you used a ballon as an example & showing how the milk gets poured, I’ve been watching videos on elvie products all day & idk why, but it just really helps when there’s visual examples of how the product works, thank you!
Thank you! I got myself the Elvie Curve. I had delayed milk production. I am also not blessed with an abundant milk supply. So, every drop counts. Today, I managed to collect 25 ml for my kid from the leaking milk and suction pumping while feeding my son.
You definitely helped me understand the Elvis curve. I just purchased one yesterday and was so confused on how to use it. Currently using it now and I can slightly feel the suction happening.
I wish I had watched this video before I got the curve, think what I was looking for but didn’t know existed was the actual pump for 250, even though they both say pump. My wrong for not doing enough research, 50 bucks was kind of too good to be true for a single electric breast pump. Still gonna try it out though now thanks to your video, I was just going to return it because even after the instructions I still didn’t “get it”. Thanks for explaining all three!
Got my Elvie Curve today and I think I’m in love! I can’t test it yet, since I’m still pregnant but I did try it on. I was worried about the fit since I have larger breasts, but it fits really great and it’s seriously such a smart design! Thanks for the recommendation and comparison videos. I need to watch more of your videos to prepare more my BFing journey. It did not go well with my first kid but I’m hopeful for this one!
When would you use the curve vs the pump? Like what situation? correct me if I’m wrong.(still learning) The catch would be to wear in my bra like all day just to catch any leakage. You would wear it instead of a nursing pad.
You'd use the curve when you're in public breastfeeding since it's more discreet. That way, you can catch the leaks, instead of losing them in a breast pad.
I plan to wear the curve when I'm breastfeeding on the other side. And I'll use the pump when I'm not nursing. Yes, the catch is kind of like a pad, you can wear it for 3 hours, then you need to let your nipples breathe for a bit.
@@karehna6202 the curve provides suction like a hakaa, and the catch just catches what leaks. You'll want a pump pump for more stimulation and pump-ability. Your breasts will/can leak, especially the first few months, without any type of suction, so the catch will be helpful in collecting what leaks without wasting it
I bought the Elvie catch cups and the Elvie Curve after watching this video. Thank you for these recommendations because they have been great!! I had a major oversupply problem with my 1st baby so I thought these could help with my second. My second baby is 4 weeks old now and I’ve loved using the Elvie catch for chafing and sore nipples. The Elvie Curve is good but it doesn’t catch more than 2 ounces or so...but I love how discreet it is compared to the Haka and Medela Harmony. I used the Medela Harmony to reduce engorgement and when I had mastitis. It’s really my favorite, but awkward to use around others.
This was so helpful thank you. I was trying to figure out what the difference was between the curve and catch. I appreciate you making it very clear, you saved me some money thank you
So I did know the difference between the Catch vs the Curve before watching this video and, while I love your wealth of information, I was really hoping for a bit more information to know which is right for me. Being a first time mom in the near future, I can only guess at what I might need, but it would be more helpful to hear from your experience in what situations you use which (Catch or Curve)! Would you mind sharing? I saw your answer to another comment to this video, in which I *think* you suggested the Catch to wear in lieu of nursing pads (so, just out and about catching little leaks) and the Curve for catching let down milk from the other breast while breast feeding (and also to help milk flow when it's not flowing as it should). Is my interpretation of your post somewhat accurate? Thank you!!
Yes, you’ve got it! Both are great products, or you’re interested in drawing a bit extra milk to save or feed, the curve would be great. If you just want something to catch leaks but don’t want to mess with gathering extra milk or worry about keeping an eye on your supply (watch for oversupply with frequent suction removal) the catch is great for that. I’ll add this topic to a list on my IGTV videos! Thanks!
First time mom as well and I'm due next month. I can't decide which to get either the Curve or the Catch. I think I'll try the Catch for now to use while nursing.
Thank you for this video! I purchased both the Curve and Catch for my upcoming 3rd baby, but is there ever a situation where I would use one more than the other? Would it be bad to exclusively use the curve in lieu of the catch? I’m wondering if I will get my money’s worth and have an opportunity to regularly use both, or if I should return one of them since both essentially collect milk.
It depends I guess, the catch comes with 2 so they are nice milk catchers. Reusable as well so you’d go through less nursing pads. The curve will help you remove some milk, usually while feeding on the other side or in a pinch where one side needs a little help! It’s kinda bulky for every day wearing and only comes with one. Does that answer your question? If you only keep one, I’d keep the curve I think 🤔
Thanks Allison! Do think it’s possible to go out in public and wear both Catch cups in lieu of pads on a regular basis? To run errands and things, say to the grocery store or what have you?

The elvie curve, do you know for how many minutes I can wear it? Is it good to use to stimulate the body to produce more milk to express or the pump is better?
Hi I'm a first time mommy and I already have the electric pump but thinking about to get the curve or the catch. I understand the Catch and the Pump, still a bit in doubt with the Curve. Can I use the Curve without a bra? Please advise or explain, I appreciate it very much!
If you need to empty your breast to replace a feed, you need a pump. If you’re just catching “extra” milk but still on your regular breastfeeding schedule, use a catcher/suction.
Thank you very much for this informative video. I am setting an exam and would be from morning till 5pm, and my baby will be 5 weeks. I was wondering if I can use the Elvie Curve instead of the Elvie Pump during my exam day. Thanks again😊
Okay, I'm going to sound unexperienced but I am a first time mom, what is the difference between the pump and the curve? I get one is electrical, but how does the suction work? Like does the suction, once is on the breastmilk comes out OR how do you get the breastmilk to come out on the suction one?
New mom to be here and I’m clueless on all this but I’m planning to use the elvie curve but I keep hearing woman say they use it only while they nurse on one side but I plan to pump only to bottle feed so I’m wondering if I can fully pump on this and it being the best option for this use

Why exactly did you say to be cautious of using the elvie curve a lot in the beginning? I'm probably going to pump exclusively so I can make sure he's eating enough. Can you use the milk even though it's been there for a long time or is it just so you won't get wet? Trying to understand if I need this... Maybe is just for comfort because it covers the nipple?
You can wear it to catch milk, sure! You can also use the milk no problem. Maybe 4 hours max for using the milk? I personally wouldn’t wear this all day. A breast pad is much more discreet and easy to use. The catch is awesome while your nursing though to catch the let down with no extra suction like the curve, or to give your nipples a break if they’re sore or need some air. You also can’t wear these at night, the milk would leak. I do like the product a lot! My favorite milk catcher I’ve tried :)
Yes! I get most of mine from PatPat :) a little hit and miss with them but most of what I get is great. And it’s so cheap, a couple bad items here and there is really ok. shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=1346505&u=1783053&m=68214&urllink=&afftrack=
Just one should be sufficient! You’ll likely use it while baby breastfeeds on the other side or for an occasional one sided fullness. It won’t empty you like an electric pump so one should do the trick for when it’s needed!

@@NewLittleLife interesting....what should be worn at night to catch leaks while sleeping/laying flat?
@@theships6 the nursing pads??
Where is your top from? I need more breastfeeding option tops.. any recommendations ?
Yes! I get most of mine from PatPat :) a little hit and miss with them but most of what I get is great. And it’s so cheap, a couple bad items here and there is really ok.

@@NewLittleLife I was just going to say PatPat too 😃
Can you use the curve like the catch without suction?
Sure! It’s bigger and bulkier, but could be used without suction just fine.
Hey hun will I need 2 of elvie curve or will 1 do?
Just one should be sufficient! You’ll likely use it while baby breastfeeds on the other side or for an occasional one sided fullness. It won’t empty you like an electric pump so one should do the trick for when it’s needed!
Can you wear the elvie curve with just a shirt
Probably, it does have some suction to help keep it on, but not a lot though. Does work better with a bra of some kind though.
I want to see a Catch Vs. Ladybug comparison
The catch is MUCH better 🤣 mostly in the shape.
casually drops that this is the $500 pump 😅
Hahah right?? Oh btw… 😂
So helpful! Thank you.
