    😀 A BIT ABOUT US:
We’re Marianne & Chris, a happily married couple from the UK. Marianne is a living kidney donor to her best friend, and realising that life was for living and never really knowing what’s round the corner - we decided to fulfil our dream of travelling full time.
So in March 2018 after the kids had left home, we sold our belongings, rented our house and moved into our campervan called Trudy. We set off to see the world and after vanlifing around Ireland and Europe, we grabbed our backpacks and spent 5 months exploring Central America.
Feeling like we needed a challenge, we planned the ultimate van life adventure! In Jan 2020 set off to drive around the World from UK to UK. But after arriving in Turkey, covid caught up with us and closed the borders, so we had a wonderful 18 months exploring this special country. Realising we were not going to be able to head further East, we decided to do a handbrake turn and go the other way and shipped our van to the USA.
We hope you enjoy coming with us, and we’ll continue to share our real adventures and hope you feel inspire to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.

“Epic” scenery in today’s vlog. I lived in my mosquito head net while paddling in Canada for a month. You certainly wear yours well, Marianne. Beautiful shot of the lynx and I’m sure you’ll catch more than a black bear’s bum soon. Safe travels.

I spent the summer and fall in Alaska (mid-80s) working the fish canneries. I don't even remember their being mosquitoes! And we were camping the whole time!
PS: If hiking trails in Bear country, clack some pots and pans while walking and picking berries 😄 Worked for us.

Rather than being bleak in the winter, I think it would be beautiful up in that little town. A bonus is that the mosquitos fly south for the winter.

had to check my photo album as we drove that route in 2007. We were in Hyder on 20th of July and saw grizzlies and black bears. Don't know the time lag of travel and you posting the vlogs. Plenty time yet for salmon runs and bears! I didn't see any lynx until I travelled to the Yukon in the winter, there was one sat beside the road in the snow. Lovely kitties

An English vicar goes on missionary work in the Canadian wilderness,.
As he's going through the forest suddenly he's chased by a big bear.
The vicar as he's being chased by the bear he suddenly drops to his knees and begins to pray.
As the vicar turns his head round he sees the bear is also on his knees praying,
"Thank you, lord it's a miracle,"says the vicar,
"Shut up says the bear, I'm trying to say grace before my dinner"

If you went up or come back on the AlCan hwy (Alaska Canada) in the Yukon, there is a bunch of wildlife you will see along the way. Also in Dawson City, Yukon Canada you can take the road up to Inuit, in the NW Territories and cross the Arctic Circle and drive all the way to Tuktoyuktuk on the Arctic Ocean. The show Ice road truckers is filmed on the McKenzie River in the winter. They completed a normal gravel road to the Arctic Ocean in 2017. It is called the Dempster hwy.

I COVER WINDOWS WITH MESH Mosquito NETS
IN MY SUV. They work pretty good, they go over your door to cover the windows. Once they are on the windows you roll your window down to get fresh air outside in the vehicle. Donna ( sister-in- law) had bought them for me from Amazon for $ 19 a pair, I love it.
