One basic function I’d like is when doing a profile pass, to be able to specify number of overlap passes. Sometimes this is a very useful alternative to having to do a pocket first then a profile pass.
I've been working with the sketch tool path and it is indeed amazing. The one thing I discovered about it though is that the boundary setting (bitmap, vector) is a default carve on the boundary line of the image, with no adjustment. If you are placing an image on a project that does not encompasses the entire project space, the boundary (or border) of the item will be carved. To avoid this issue - if you don't want a border - is to include a rectangle vector (or whatever shape matches the image boundary) within the image borders by about 2 - 3 mm. Doing so eliminates the border carve altogether. I'm not sure of the mechanics in the software for this, or the rational. The sketch carve tool is awesome! But, a more direct way to control the boundary carve would be much appreciated rather than the work around that seems to be the only approach at this point.
I want toolpaths to show a total depth when using the start at depth feature. In my workflow- I routinely start pocketing toolpaths at 0.935 and cut depth of 0.685 - I shouldn't need a calculator on my desk to figure this. But I certainly do if I need to maintain that cut depth but need to change my start depth to 0.250 but maintain the same total depth of the pocket. It could easily calculate this right on the toolpath tab, heck it could easily be a third entry box (fill any 2 boxes kinda thing).... It definitely calculates it because I can calculate toolpath and then hover over it in the tree view to have total depth displayed.
I don't know if this helps but you can type simple equations into the value boxes and they will calculate instead of needing to use a calculator. Example: 0.250+0.685=
Go into the preview mode and click on the question mark in the bottom right corner. You should see an eye icon that you can click to turn tips back on!
I agree with your 10. It's too bad that they are offset a bit by the removal of the curve tool and the removal of being able to use the space bar to return to the previously-used tool. Since Vectric is already up to patch number 6 of version 12, with luck and with requests to vectric by users, they may bring these tools back.
Nicely done. Good comments. However, The icons now look like they were made by a 3 year old with a crayon! Most are not intuitive anymore. Sketch, hints, VCave inlay outstanding! Performance is goody on! Sketch, hints, VCave inlay is outstanding! Oh well, we can hope for some options in the future I guess.
TH-cam videos have a playback speed setting so you can slow them down or speed them up. Not to mention a play, pause and rewind. He's not actually in the room with you just saying......
I hate how your voice and video are intentionally out of sync. Is this a ADHD technique adopted from other 'creators' or a cheap NLP thing. Being in alignment is a thing of the past.
Awesome Video Scott. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on the new features and interface ☺
Anytime!

Have you figured out how to get rid of the outline that shows up one the sketch tool path?
Keyboard short cuts are great if you have two hands, I don't. Will I have access to undo, paste, and copy ?

Great video, thanks! Where did you get the dragonfly graphic?
Tbh, I don’t recall 🤦🏻♂️…I spend a lot of time searching things up these days. Thanks for your comment!
Great vid! Very helpfull.
One question: How did you turn on tool tips that appear on the bottom of the application?
So it looks like tool tips on the bottom are only for 3D view? Tool tips for 2D are displayed at the mouse pointer.
Yes, sorry, I didn’t make that clear 🤦🏻♂️ Thanks for following up!
I am enjoying Aspire v12. Super cool updates.
SUBSCRIBED!!
Do you know how to change the safe height?
What is the keyboard short cut for undo?

how do you turn the tip/help back on... I've mistakenly turned it off

Your last comment is available in Aspire only? Your introduction to the comment is confusing.
Not everyone uses shortcut keys, I find it much easier using the mouse to undo, redo, save, since my hand is already on the mouse
Agreed. My workaround was to program one of my free mouse buttons to ctrl+z for a quick undo.
If I upgrade to V Care Pro 12, will I get 12.5 upgrade for free when it comes out…???

I was excited for 12 until I saw the $300 price tag
I was similarly excited about Aspire until I saw the price.
