That's for the video. Its nice to know what you are getting into. My rear arm lever isn't pivoting so I have to get into it and clean it. I figure a 12 gauge brush should fit the pin hole. Thx again.
i buy a 1997 honda foreman from a atvs shop but was broke down they low the price on it but a stupid person use a hammer to get loss brakes drum and the braket on side for brake cables now im trying to fix it this video help me a lot thanks
you mentioned that the brake lever has to be in neutral position in order to get drum off,,I am doing rear brake job this weekend on a 2007 Rancher 420 ,,and I believe it's all rusted/frozen up,,,the cam/pin may not move the lever,,,and my suggestions? ???
i would put a some water proof grease around where the dust cover bolts on ( around the oring mabe replace oring) and make sure the vent hose is good and tight and make sure the end of the hose in up the fram high.your not going to keep all the water out but you can keep most of it. water gets in the most where the pin comes through the back plate where the arm is attached to the cables. make sure that little seal is in good shape and put some grease there.
What do I do if the brake drum won't come off as if it's rusted in place? The brake lever you showed in the video is locked in place also. I soaked it in pb blaster for a day and I even heated it lightly with a propane torch
I have been that road. just keep what you are doing, keep using the PB balaster and heat. HEAT the axel by brake drum. light heat wont cut it , and the same for the brake lever
Do you know what the casted aluminum part is called that holds both the rear brake lines. I have a 1996 honda foreman and I can't find the part that holds the break lines. it broke because a drag used for grading got wrapped up in the rear axle and the break lines, and the chains ripped out the break lines, and broke the casted aluminum that holds the break lines. Thanks for any help.
ok i have a 97 honda foreman 400. and the foot brake lever does not go down unless you stand on it. then you have to use a jack to get it back into place. any suggestions as to what i should do? i got all the pannels off in that area and the cables disconnected. thanks!
The nut on the hub assembly isn't a 35 mm. Bought one and it is to big by quite a bit. It is very close to a 1 3/16. My machine is a 2003 would that make a difference and if so could you tell me what else it might be, Thanks
was told i have a 1997 to 1999 honda fourtrax 300 4x4, cant get the right drum, looks very similar to what you have. 8 1/8 outside diameter. 1 1/4 braking surface about 2 1/2 wide. would you help to let me know what type f drum i need to order

I bought a 4 Wheeler and was told it was a Honda Foreman 2000 Model needs a little work. How do i know exactly what Model or size it is before I order parts.
+ourtube4u first is make sure that the brake cables are all the way loosened. them move the brake arm back and fourth. with the brakes loose slide the brake drum off, it may be necessary to use pb blaster or wd40 between the axle and drum
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IS TAKE THE FOOT BRAKE LEVER OFF THE QUAD. THE POST WELDED TO THE FRAME THAT THE LEVER RIDES ON NEEDS TO BE CLEANED, DIRT & MUD GET IN THERE. TAKE A WIRE BRUSH WHEEL ON A DRILL AND CLEAN THE POST GOOD AND THEN CLEAN THE INSIDE OF THE PEDAL PIVOT. THEN WHEN YOU PUT IT TOGETHER GREASE OR ANTISEIZE THE POST AND LEVER. IT WILL BE HARD TO GET THE LEVER OFF GET SOMR GOOB PENETRATING OIL LIKE PB BLASTER AND KEEP WORKING IT GOOD LUCK AND THANKS FOR WATCHING
they broke a braket and loss parts the engine sound ok is 4×4 all the time somebody can tell me how much i can selled after fix is a 1997 honda foreman 400cc has a new battery start first time push start an pull start has plenty lights
Thanks for reminding everyone about the dust. But you should have put more emphasis on the dust. It is very dangerous. It will kill you. DON'T BREATHE THE DUST
Thanks mark part 1 And part 2 made my job so easy thanks again
Chrome socket on that impact. Mmm you bad boy. Great video!
Thanks for the video. I just fixed my brakes on a 02 Foreman and this was very helpful.

I'm having the same issue. A long time ago but did you find a way to sort it?
Any tips on getting the drum cover off mine seems to be seized

My brake cam( pin) is frozen. Any suggestions as to how to get it out?
Working on my foreman atm. Best idea on how to get the pin to release into the neutral place so I can take the brake drum off? I think it's seized
What size socket after the cotter comes out and does it go clockwise?

@Yukon12gauge just so the break drun can expand a little . if it turns a little red its ok. you can tap the drum a little but not to hard
My brake pas are brand new but still dont brake dont you know what it could be ?
I'm in the middle of this job but the darn brake drum isn't moving. Any suggestions?
what will cause the rear brake shoes too disintegrate I put new brake shoes on my Honda Foreman and they are already disintegrated to the metal
check your drum, if its not smooth it will chew up the brakes. also it may be the brake shoes them self, like a bad batch or cheap shoes
Is it right hand threads for the nut
Yes
change the seal keep getting water in my drums ordered a new o ring. think that's the issue ? I have a 2014 foreman
you do awesome detailed videos!!!thank you so much it was perfect.your an excellent teacher👊🏽💪🏽🔥
If the brake cover is tight what is the easy way to remove it screws have been remove
There are cut outs on the side of the brake housing, so you can pry off the cover with a screwdriver
@@400EX99N try that but still tight an want move also the brske leaver is hard to move to the release setting
@@400EX99N stiil very tight and the brake leaver want go into the netural postion
Is it all the same on a 2009 honda foreman es
2015 foreman es- new brakes on but can't get the drum back on. Ebc shoes seem too big??? Any ideas?
My drum will not go back on. It looks like the metal from the brake shoes has fused to the drum. Is that possible?
It can, and sometimes the brakes pads are a little to thick
What size is the axle nut
Should be q 20mm

Can’t the drum off any other Suggestions
Make sure the brake cables are all the way off, and use a rubber hammer on the drum to get the dirt off the the inside.
I need to replace the bearing but someone welded the castle nut on. I'm thinking of cutting it off with a Zip disk how would I fix the threads ?
that's a good plan. the threads must be bad that's why they welded the nut
+400EX99N could I use a tap and dye set to clean the nut and threads? I'm new to this.
+GusgusA1 you'll have to buy a new nut because you're going to destroy it taking it off. you are going to need a die
fix the axle threads
what size is the center nut you took the cotter pin out of
On my foreman 500 2011 it's a 30mm. The brake assembly looks identical to this one.
What size socket for the castle nut??
I bought a 4 Wheeler and was told it was a Honda Foreman 2000 Model needs a little work. How do i know exactly what Model or size it is before I order parts.
GOOGLE the vin number
my hub won't come off any suggestions? I got the cotter pin and nut off but it won't move
some PB blaster and heat to the hub
Tyler Mccain
hey what size did you use to get the center nut off
I am trying to get that bolt off, but it wont budge. I used an impact wrench, but I cant keep the other tire from moving. Any help? Thanks
you need heat to the nut then hit it with the impact
Great video
Is everything pretty much the same with a Foreman TRX450?
yes it is all the same
Thanks!

heat and pb blaster (penetrating oil) and just keep working it
yeah that's exactly what they were cheap shoes never going that route again always buy OEM
can anyone tell me what size metric socket is required to remove the nut on the hub assembly and is this a left hand thread?
they are right hand threads and this Honda was a 35mm. different models may have different sizes
400EX99N Thanks a bunch that helps lot.
gary peterson i think its a 30 im useing imperial tools so not 100% but 30 is my best guess. i cant get the dang hub off and have no puller....
