Gallagher G-75 Special | The First from the New Shop!

We couldn't have been more excited about this Custom G-75 Special for Ron Hipp. It was a treat for the entire shop to meet the new owner of this stunning beauty as he demoed it for us.
Ron Hipp taught his childhood friend, Larry Padgett, how to player fingerstyle. Larry taught his college friend, Ray Marcrom, and Ray taught David Mathis. If it wasn't for Ray's 1967 G-50 and introducing David to Gallagher, who's to say whether Gallagher would still be open today.

On a sad note, Ray passed away suddenly on July 9, 2024. We are so glad we were able to record this time together and the shared musical DNA.

I love this story for several reasons. I have had ties with the Gallaghers growing up in Wartace and ties with Lipscomb University all my life also. My wife and daughter are both Lipscomb graduates and Don has been Mayor of Wartace, like my father. Don also has preached at the church in Wartace where I was a member along with Don's wife and the Adcock family for many years. It's a small world!

Love the story! And man…I’ve been planning my Gallagher as a shade top, but that pearl is very cool with the blonde top. The guitar is extraordinary. And yeah - we finger pickers love Gallaghers too.
