What a fun video! It's great to hear a guitar played by several people.

I've got an older Doc Watson made in Wartrace TN in 2001. It's been a great bluegrass guitar. Don't know if the new ones are considered better quality than the Wartrace built ones but it is good to see Gallagher getting some good recognition ...

Sitka Spruce typically produces a very balanced, articulate sound. I like Sitka a lot, but I tend to prefer Adirondack Spruce a bit more. Very nice sounding instrument.

Excellent review of this model, all players have their style and preferences on acoustic guitars, everyone here give their opinion on this Guitar and I think thats a good selling point, I have a GALLAGHER G-50, purchased from Don in Wartrace TN, one of my favorite Guitars!

Sounds great, however the "Star of the Show" is without a doubt Trent's lettuce. Boy has got some sick flow going on. Makes me miss the 80s & the feathering.

Sounds almost as good as an Eastman E10D...I had a 2002 G-50 Gallagher and it was one of the hardest acoustics to play I've ever owned, got rid of it after a few months...maybe they revised there neck/set profile of late.

How would y’all compare this to a standard d 18?

I had one for ten years, it was signed by Doc Watson and I hated to sell it . I did get what I paid for originally and the dealer I consigned it too made out good .

High end guitars all can play well out of the box.

What’s the first song that was played?

Wasn't Doc Watson's electric a Fender, not a Gibson as in the video? That's what I heard, that the Doc Watson Gallagher was a copy of a Martin D-18, with the top bracing carved to be a little louder and brighter, with the neck copied from a Fender electric to match what Doc was used to. What kind of spruce did J. W. Gallagher use for the ones he made?

Doc played a Les Paul early in his career.

These everyone plays videos are always interesting. I find it gives a really good sense of the instruments.
Liz and Tyler make an excellant point about Doc Watson's ability as a finger picker. It's easy to overlook that when you listen to people talk about him these days.
I know this is a heretical opinion, but there's such a thing as a guitar which is too loud.
