Is it possible to get into software sales without a bachelor’s degree? I have 6+ years of car sales experience and 9+ years of customer service experience, and I’m currently working at Tesla as a Sales advisor. No college, but looking to get a higher paying job and have been interested in tech/software sales, but all the listings I see require a bachelors degree.

Hey Trent, I currently work as a fabric cutter at my current job. I use to be a credit sales men for Sam’s club back in 2019. Wanting to get back into the field but don’t know where to start. My current job is always hiring sales reps. What are way I can convince them in a valuable candidate for a position at my current job?
You can not get into pharmaceutical sales without a B.A. or BS. MINIMIUM, a GPA over 3.0. and 5 yrs experience. I work pharma sales for 3 yrs and tried to get another position after my contract was up only to be told I did have enough experience. Well, how do I get experience if I can't get a job to get the experience? They don't care! Now they want a MBA, OR an RN, or experience with a 3.8 GPA. If you don't have any of those you get the middle finger from the companies you apply to.
I'd say that if you could get a sales job at somewhere less favourable for a short term so that you have that experience in the wider sales space then you could move into applying for companies you prefer after say 6 months- a year. Not something that ive done however seems like a viable option
I left the Air Force 2019. Going to school as a business major. Honestly if you wanna make 6 figs I would say use your post 9/11 and get a bachelors. It’ll be well worth it. It’ll get you in the door and combined with our military background you’ll stand out.
I’ve been a dancer for the past 5 years. It’s very hard to put that on a resume even though I do sales every day. I want to do the same job when I’m older just not in a club or 1/2 naked 😂 it’s the hustle for me. I don’t want to but I am forcing myself to go to college because I don’t want to be 40 and dancing. I’ve applied for so many jobs and most of them reject me or are a scam because I lack a degree and experience. It sucks but we might as well knock it out while we have the time, resources, money, and energy to do so. That piece of paper will give us more opportunities. I’m 25 and not giving up. We can do it! I am someone that struggles with any social interaction in general. My adrenaline pumps like crazy, which keeps me from thinking straight, and causes me to shake a lot. Considering this, by going into sales, I would be attempting to fix that by jumping into the deep end. Is this a good idea?
People have anxiety in social situations because they are not prepared nor have a lot of experience. Working a job, you are improving a skill set 40 hours out of the week. If you put in 5 hours a week in any activity you will get better at it. I'm not the most sociable person but when I'm at work, I can speak to a client freely because I know what I'm doing and I am relaxed
