I'm 35, have a useless associates degree in business admin/accounting, and been unemployed since the pandemic shutdown. I was working on my bachelor's, but life shows up and I now have to make money or be homeless. Thank you for this video! I've decided that I'm going into Sales, and leverage my customer service work experience, and affinity for working with/managing people into this career. I have nothing but desire and belief in myself. Your advice in this video gave me an epiphany, and I'll shoot my shot!

So I'm in one of those jobs where I'm trapped out of promotion by office politics and tenure. I've been here 3.5 yrs and I'm in a senior csr position. I'm also part of an additional team, which is the top 13 agents in our department of 130 or so. I didnt even get an interview when I put in an application for the next level. I'm super burnt out and the pay is barely enough fo live. I want to be in control of my own income.
I review sales calls half my day at work and finding out these bumbling fools make 3x what I make was an extreme eye opener.
I think I have unique qualifiers based on previous experience, world class interaction ability inbound or outbound(I do both in my current role), and I am a very quick learner who regularly has to work with other departments including corporate teams on project resolution. I keep hearing all these different sales job types and I'm wondering which you think is the absolute best for someone who is experienced enough on calls and selling(I have to sell incentives daily without any commission) to really hit the ground running?
By sales job types I mean like B2C, B2B, Saas, inbound closing, etc...

You can not get into pharmaceutical sales without a B.A. or BS. MINIMIUM, a GPA over 3.0. and 5 yrs experience. I work pharma sales for 3 yrs and tried to get another position after my contract was up only to be told I did have enough experience. Well, how do I get experience if I can't get a job to get the experience? They don't care! Now they want a MBA, OR an RN, or experience with a 3.8 GPA. If you don't have any of those you get the middle finger from the companies you apply to.

I’ve been a dancer for the past 5 years. It’s very hard to put that on a resume even though I do sales every day. I want to do the same job when I’m older just not in a club or 1/2 naked 😂 it’s the hustle for me. I don’t want to but I am forcing myself to go to college because I don’t want to be 40 and dancing. I’ve applied for so many jobs and most of them reject me or are a scam because I lack a degree and experience. It sucks but we might as well knock it out while we have the time, resources, money, and energy to do so. That piece of paper will give us more opportunities. I’m 25 and not giving up. We can do it! Hopefully that helps ☺️

People have anxiety in social situations because they are not prepared nor have a lot of experience. Working a job, you are improving a skill set 40 hours out of the week. If you put in 5 hours a week in any activity you will get better at it. I'm not the most sociable person but when I'm at work, I can speak to a client freely because I know what I'm doing and I am relaxed

I currently work for the company I want the sales job for and don’t know if the boss will be offended if I say to him I want to work in their sales team instead of my current job (it sounds stupid but if you knew my boss you would understand) what do I do here, got any advice

if your boss cares about you then they will want what's best - meaning approving lateral move. You need to tell them what you want

This is going to come across as me being a total hater. In the very first minute, ever watching your context, I got zero value, and was asked to “watch til the end”, “like the video”, “something about a raffle” “something about your subs goal”
I know things are a two way street and all, but it just hit me way, way wrong to the point I’m like *head scratch* “I don’t think this guy has the wisdom I’m looking for and I guess I’ll never know✌️ Figured I’d share my point of view.
