Fix Dragging Wood Screen Door - Brace and Use a Turn Buckle

- Most wooden screen doors sag and drag on the ground as they age. Sometimes even aluminum doors sag from poor construction or abuse. (got 14 year old boys?)
The hinge side is attached to the door jamb and cannot sag, however the swinging side is prone to sagging simply because of gravity, moisture and abuse.
A simple remedy is to attach a ‘Storm Door Turnbuckle’ made to lift the outside rail of a storm door.
It attaches to the bottom outside edge of the door (where it is dragging) to the hinge rail usually halfway up the hinge rail of the door. Once screwed to the door it can be adjusted shorter, thus lifting up the swinging rail of the door.

This happened with my screen door a few years back. I searched screen door problems and eventually found the answer as a turnbuckle. Wish I had your video instead, much better info. Keep up the great work!

Simple but effective ! Thankyou. Update 6/13/22...purchased Wright screen and storm door turnbuckle 42". Pilot holes worked out great, turnbuckle did the trick. Fantastic .

I didn't know there's such thing for screen door, look neat! I used steel aircraft cable with small turn buckle for screen door and gate, wish I knew this earlier!

Just being a tad critical, but you should have added how far to screw the turnbuckle together before installing. Some people may mistakenly screw it together tight and then have no adjustment after installing.

You can make a homemade one using small aircraft cable and a turnbuckle. If there are any small hardware type stores in your area, a clerk there should be able to get you those parts and show you how to do it without too much trouble.
We're do I buy this turn buckle. Couldn't find it at Lowe's. Anyone?
