I love the little touches of the folding tables. Not just because it's space saving but because the couple are climbers. The clips and such are climbing tools so it's adorably personal
This was soo calming to watch due to their chill vibe and cute accents. I have friends from from Germany and they too speak like this. I could listen to them all day.
For being an architect and a carpenter I would of expected much more out of this van...specially for the table and storage solution!! I did love how they placed their kitchen tho!
That’s a cracking design and use of space. My only concern would be the steel support beams for van shell were not insulated so cold could transfer from van shell to warm interior then produce condensation. A fantastic van conversion though. Many ideas to pinch👍😂
There are some really great multipurpose ideas I can use in my bus conversion, cannot wait to get started. I think my favorite was the seat over fridge and the area also works for food prep.
This actually gave me a very good idea to copy for my layout, the kitchen there it's great to use that space that I had otherwise left almost empty but without purpose. Now I can have more space in the middle, for mini living room and have a bigger bed than I was planning for. Plus I really like it more than the average kitchen on the sides. Finally a good inspiration! Plus I love the top furnitures, seem more reliable than the bigger ones. I had terrible experiences with my former van (that I didn't build) and now I am terrified that furniture would just fall off at the first bump while driving.
love that they put the control panel for all electrical and gas away from the sleeping area. and neater. always make you feel anxious to see all cables and wiring so haywire at the back or below the huge bed 😁❤️
Love the whole fridge/ seat / worktop/ walk through to cab section - really clever. Only thing I would alter is the table. I would prefer a fold down leg rather than the strap. Love his attention to detail with the cabinets.
I have a folding table similar to theirs in my van and I used a very strong folding support bracket that can hold 200 pounds or more. I got the bracket at Rockler in the USA for $30 US.
I use a similar strap set up. This is practical for many reasons. A support or leg is not practical for many reasons. (A support/leg would need to be longer than the table itself. If the van is on any angle the support/leg is useless etc etc). Easy. Lightweight. I too like this idea for accessing the front. I've kept my metal bulk head and as yet not devised a way (many ideas) to access through... but this has given me some inspiration...
I really like this van build!!! Sooo many creative and very organized useful ideas here in this van. It's amazing how he remembers all those measurements. I know how he feels, only i know where the mistakes were made in my van build and they'll drive you crazy but no one else understands nor sees it lol. Thanks for sharing.

"60 centimeters breit"; "just fold this um" - I love German-English😂
Should include links for the brands of pieces he mentions. I think its well done. The attention to detail is special. The mountain climber in them shows in the straps to hold the tops, where someone use supports below. Thanks Mr. Nate.
cool van with some clever ideas I like the magnetic curtain, so simple and works so well. Would like to meet those people they seem so friendly and kind.
It is such a beautiful van, and such a beautiful video. I don't know you all very well, but it looks like you are beautiful people. Thank you for sharing!
I just decided to sketch up some ideas last and I did something similar to your kitchen!!! I am so excited to see this. I sorta dont like when people block the large slider door so I thought that work around would be nice! Thanks for the tour.
Always in awe of non native speakers' English speaking skills... it takes a lot of balls to just talk a filming stranger through the technical features of your van conversion in a language that is not your own
I love how they left some of the interior van frame exposed, the holes in it become subtle design elements, picking up the holes he used in some of the wood for ventilation as a theme. It reminds me of some of the modern buildings I have toured, they expose the ceiling structure and wall structure, adding texture and interest. Exposing these interior frame elements also lets your walls be as thin as possible, moving the effective wall outward, as opposed to people who cover the frame with boards, then add another layer of covering, closing down the space losing the openness. It also gives you access to places to hang stuff later on, as you live in it. One of many little elements that show the care and experience and genius of the builders!
But it's not insulated, which is a big mistake if you ever visit somewhere that doesn't have +15/20 c in the night. Also the heating gets much harder. Their "design element" of exposing is just stupidity here.
What do they do for shower and toilet? Lovely matched veneer work! Like the detail on using stable material so no warping as well. I'm not fond of the plastic containers in plain sight though. For aesthetics perhaps add sliding accordion folding doors to cover up some of those areas. Very nice couple!
I got some ideas from this van, thank you, but the kitchen, bed, rear storage, small tables, overhead storage, fridge... are in every van, the difference is in how you balance the use of space to solve toilet and shower needs which were not addressed.
Beautiful space. I love the pull out seat and fridge. The double deck utensil/coffee drawer is brilliant. I see there are metal parts of van showing around/between the wood walls. Does that cut down on the insulation efficiency?
Very nice people and. This van is not not luxurious but functional. My regrets no toilet and no bathroom and impossible for a full timer I think.. Sorry for my English, i’m a real french 😂😂😂 Thank’s a lot for sharing Sam 💚 Pyrénées
Used to have a van, I prefer a see through curtain, I had a gray one that was thin enough that you could see out in the daytime but not in because of the darkness inside/light difference.

Ausgezeichnet! Another lovely van build, old school look and feel, well crafted. Am liking your choices, Nate. Be nice to let us know what make and size van it is. Very helpful for designing our own. Ty and cheers from Australia.
Nate Murphy Ty for replying. Now, I might be having a brain fade, but I can’t find any info or a longer description other than the vid title. I have subscribed, am on an ipad.Where should I be looking for the basic tech details of the van?
This is a great build. I have a question, what is the insolation in the walls and roof? Because I see that the original metal frame is still visible. Is it the Renaud factory insolation or did they made it? I wish they left their IG or YT
Ingenious details and beautifully crafted but I wondered why the 'hanging' table did not use an undermounted swing out, wooden and routered out triangular brace as this would have allowed more space around the table minus the strap ... maybe knee room ? Perhaps move the table a couple of centimetres over, thete looks to be room - as when you are eating/working you won't be cooking - then knee room is not an issue. I guess if they had used wire to minimise the intrusion instead of the bulky material strap it could be hazardous as it would be almost invisible. The strap seems so big and in the way though! Also noticed the lack of insulation/cover along the van struts (original manufacture metal 'studs' with holes in it) and back doors. R-value would drop due to thermal loss ?? Has this been a problem or was this a part of their design - perhaps to increase the footprint of the interior of the van ? Most conversions I have seen stuff/spray insulation into the voids and cover these. I am curious why these were left exposed. The standard of construction is so great and everything is considered otherwise ... so presumed they had a reason ?! What was the length /wheel base of the van please. I love the colourful straps used for her 'library'. Really nice design - looks like a piece of art.
Lovely conversion. Loads of storage space, I like that 👍 What do they do about showering though? I didn’t hear anything mentioned. I’ve seen a couple of conversions with built in showers and toilets which, although great for comfort, seems to take up loads of space. What’s the alternative though?

This is the most german conversion video i've ever seen - and it's beautiful!!
I love the little touches of the folding tables. Not just because it's space saving but because the couple are climbers. The clips and such are climbing tools so it's adorably personal
Regular van folks would use an eyelet to hold the table up.
Climber van folks use a carabineer and a 30 kN anchor hanger :)
haha so true!
And the climbing gear is much more resistant and more stylish

The Grey boxes are known as "Euro Crates/Containers/Boxes" if any one wants to get similar boxes for their van!
In several European countries you can buy them at the Bauhaus homedepo stores.
Or find a company selling storage equipment for offices and workshops.
