Plus it's a nice change of pace and naturally subverts expectations (without forcibly doing it just to sound smart).
My favorite part of the snap out of it scene is that it insinuates that chai’s unconscious mind is more aware than his conscious mind. Guy is literally dumber than his own brain.

Watching the cat at 5:54 made me lose my fucking composure. Obviously this game had its silly moments until this point, but watching a robotic cat slowly strut its way towards you with the low eyes and jazzy movements was just too fuckin hilarious.
If anything I’d actually say the game is so deliberately self aware that it actually makes a complete loop from “amusingly self aware” to “annoyingly self aware” right out into the crisp clean waters of “we aren’t taking this seriously and neither should you. have fun!” They overplay it so hard it comes out the other side as amazing.
God i remember after Kale attacks Chai and Korsica from the robot, if you talk to CNMN he goes on a rant about how the robot was made so detailed as if you were gonna fight it At first i thought it was hinting that they wanted to put a boss fight there but couldnt, but then you (technically) fight the robot like a stage or two later

I swear this coffee stuff has escalated so much in the story First the coffee machine has a firmware update, and only gives decaf, later kale tells the robots to shutdown every part of the campus shutting down the coffee machine, kale complains that the coffee machine was shut down, later finds out that the coffee machine only gives out decaf because the robots told him and doesn't get his cortado, during the final fight when you die on phase 1 or 2 he says "now time for my cortado."
The firmware update was done by a disgruntled robo worker, who got so fed up of his job in Jojo's Office, that he ended up making every machine dispense decaf.

Zanzo’s overspending was counteracted by Rouquefort’s frugality. (Albeit Roquefort most likely embezzled some Funds for his Lavish office and tech.) REKKA is probably one of the better members, increasing production quality and quantity about 300% each quarter. Korsica actually did her job and was damned good at it too. Mimosa was the biggest failure, making things sound good, but failing to take in important data about what does and doesn’t work.
The more i look at Zanzo, the more o realize just hoe much his design and mannerisms are seemingly inspired by Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventures. He even has the funny poses overlayed with flashy text and some serious shading work.
