Love the forced hesitation early on and then you went crazy! If you watch the live Oakland performance that’s what all the guitar players did. Amped up on speed or whatever. The drums and bass tried to contain them but were unable. But as a solo pianist you can do better
The fluidly of this cover from the beginning astounds me. You play this so eloquently beautiful. At the same time, I can feel the intensity grow steadily and surely, but not too fast. Every once in a while it slows down again in a reminiscing nostalgic way. Love that take. Oh, and that right hand octave run in the middle blows me away. Next comes a second build, increasing my heart rate. RIP! Visceral intensity hits me like bus, but I push the bus back, attaining the strength to take out a bear in one swift punch. I’m not a caged bird anymore. I’m not even a bird. I’m a fire-breathing Phoenix, and with the power of the music, I can rule anything. Chills.

My BF (age 74) is from the southern part of Georgia, very near Jacksonville FL. He says he saw Skynyrd at an Earth Day celebration, spring break of 1970.. He said they called their band the "One-Percenters" back then. He gets tears in his eyes anytime he hears Free Bird.

Saying this is something you are born with is crazy and dismisses the amount of years we put in to get to this level
You obviously have no idea how many years of dedication and practice it takes to get this good. Sure, some people might pick up piano easier than others, but getting this good is the result of years and years of experience. No one can play this well with "natural born talent" and no practice, that's crazy.
The solo here is a little too simplistic
