PS I just did the barrel on Rocket3 with centre piston and con rod in and used hose clamps on the piston rings and it seemed to work ok. Did not use the board though.

getting stuck in traffic is not usually a problem for me,
I tend to go around towns and head for open country A and B roads :-)
A nice copper coil mounted somewhere would be the the best I agree,
looks like a trip to a plumbers merchant is in order.

Hi Geoff yup I still use 20/50w and thinking of making an oil cooler, some of the synthetic oils are not good for the shared primary oil and can make the clutch slip.
I would not like to stick my finger in my oil tank after a good run it must be as hot as chip fat!!!

any chance you have a PDF template of the rear mount plates with holes I could use to cutout my own? I dont have the originals to go off of.
    Thanks - great videos!

hi mate, great vids very helpful. can you tell me the number of the oil seal in the plate behind the clutch. it has an 1 1/2 o/d. it sits on the bush on the main shaft. regards.

    Hi Geoff :-)
I might just give it a go for my next oil change, I was thinking of making an alloy shield for the frame tube with about a 1" gap to keep the hot engine air away from the tank then make a scoop for cooler air that would be picked up from underneath the bike.
Apparently the OIF was supposed to have it's filler near the head-stock making the volume a lot bigger but for some reason they did not do it ??? probably thought people would put petrol in the wrong hole!!

Hi, I notice that you have 4 springs in the clutch pressure plate, (my 1972 only has 3), and that you were able to fit the clutch without playing around with all of those roller bearings. This is much less hassle to fit. Where do you get those parts from? Thanks.

      Hi Bruce :-)
the four spring clutch is early triumph and I have since fitted the newer three spring clutch.
I had ran the old four as I had a lot of trouble with the three but as it has no push rod adjuster it had to be shimmed which was a pain.
The clutch can only be fitted as a unit when the front drive sprocket and alternator are removed.
If you want to leave them in place I'm afraid its hassle with the rollers!

+lunmad OK thanks. I will keep to three springs. Your videos are a great help.

      Hi Bruce :-)
thank you, the old triumph will never have a light clutch compared to modern stuff.
If it is overly heavy it is usually down to the cable or routing of the cable.
I'm just starting my next rebuild as this one supposedly to last a season was five years ago.
I explain what I did to my 3 spring to stop it slipping, keep your eye open I will start uploading soon.
