I feel like a big problem is that it was the spawn of Ubisoft MONTPELLIER, who were the bigger guys back then compared to Ubisoft MONTREAL. But then Montreal got big with like Assassins creed, Far cry, Watch Dogs,... and I guess Ubisoft just focused more on those franchises rather than Montpellier...
I think I've finally remembered why I haven't been enjoying Sonic or even Mario 2D platformers since Origins. Both games feel kind of stiff compared to Rayman Origin and Legends' smooth-as-butter controls, although Super Mario Odyssey did a pretty great job translating that sense of "flow" to 3D. Rayman Origins is the best modern Sonic game so far in all but name. Fight me.
When I worked at GameStop back in the day, when people came in for modern warfare I would push rayman origins so hard. I swear I must have sold 100 copies alone. And 90% of the people who I recommended it to said they loved it. Ubisoft owes me royalties. 😂

There was a quote somewhere, I forgot where it was from, but they really did put it perfectly: Rayman Origins is one of the best Sonic games ever made.
Origins has its own identity. Perhaps the slopes/wall running and freeing the little creatures gave people grounds for comparison. 2D Sonic and Rayman Origins/Legends play nothing alike though.
It’s not easy being a Rayman fan, he recieved the most glorious gaming resurrection in 2011 only to ”die” some years later, seems the only thing that can keep him alive until Ubisoft does something with the IP are the fans and TH-camrs like you who make videos about him, so thank you, it’s awesome to see rather large channels talk about Rayman suddently. I love all the main Rayman games, and i really do like some of the spinoffs, even though i haven’t played them all yet. Both Rayman 3 and Origins/Legends are within my top 10 games. Nowdays, Leaks keep popping up of the cancelled Rayman 4, and, oh what could have been. I suppose you could make a collection of the mobile games and port them to consoles/PC. There’s a guy at Ubisoft by the name Davide Soliani, who directed the Mario Rabbids games and the GBC Rayman and he really cares about the character, i could see him taking the reins of Rayman now that Michel Ancel is retired. I hope Maybe he can resurrect Rayman 4 some day!
Honestly me too, that game looks super gritty and dark with a lot of edgy but still really cool, I love the intial idea for the Rabbids being that they weren’t goofy bunny things and more creepy monster like things, almost like a parody of the meme of them taking over the world with them actually taking over the world. I hope that idea gets revived one day, with Ubisoft bought up who knows? It might happen
I have a serious soft spot for Rayman 3. Absolutely made me fall in love with the franchise with the tone of humour it brought. Just give us the Rayman 4 we were promised!
Unfortunately, I think Rayman Legends is the new Rayman 4; UbiSoft just completely screwed Rayman over, and in doing so, favoured Assassin’s Creed instead. What a kick in the frickin’ balls!
The only thing that I didn't like about Rayman 3 was the final boss. I didn't like the part where you are jumping from rock to rock, but only one path will get you out alive.
Well, now Rayman is gonna be part of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, through DLC. That's literally the most high profile thing that happened to him since Legends.
But there's one thing that's disappointing about the RayMan one is he will not be teaming up with Mario and Luigi and instead he has to team up with Rabbid Mario and that shit ass Rabbid Peach WHY DOES RABBID PEACH ALWAYS GET ALL THE ATTENTION?!?!
Funny story: That original Rayman 4 platformer prototype where you beat up the Rabbids? Yeah, a _vast_ majority of the code for that still exists in the retail version of Rayman Raving Rabbids. The transition from platformer to party game happened really late in development, so in order to get it out in time to be a launch title for the Wii they recycled the code of the platformer project in various mini games and the colosseum hub world, but just disabled certain functions that would let the player move Rayman around freely. For example: A major feature of the game was going to give Rayman the ability to ride and control various different creatures. In the final game, there's a mini game where you pick up pigs and drop them off while riding a bat. The code for that game is just the code for a bat Rayman would have been able to ride in the prototype, just with the dismount button disabled. It's actually possible to reconstruct a remarkably functional and playable version of the originally-intended platforming gameplay just using all of the code leftovers in the final game.
Man... It's literally the game that almost was. Y'know, doesn't that mean the game, technically, could be tweaked to become a platformer? Like, it would need entire new level designs, no doubt about it, but with the base code being nearly all in there, it would be theoretically possible, right?
@@Mr.HowardEatsPants There is a mod like that, called the Prototype Restoration Mod. I think TH-cam hides comments with links so I can't put a direct link here, but you can just search for it and it will show up.
A new Rayman game in the exact hand drawn graphical style of Rayman 1 would be the most gorgeous comeback to date. Really wish to see it rebooted at some point. This style has been barely explored and i don't know any game with such beautiful art design. 3D can be translated pretty well especially nowadays with the tech getting better, but 2D just has that timeless feel you can't ever shake off. Thanks for covering this!
I'd be lying if I said I grew up on Rayman (Hoodlum Havoc and Origins were my gateway games). But Rayman, both the character and franchise, are filled with so much charm and creativity that it's honestly infuriating that Ubisoft hates supporting it as much as they do.
WELL LOOKIE AT WHO'S HERE , Hi Hype!!! Seriously though! I grew up on Origins only because that's all I had, but was obsessed with Legends and Rayman 3, Ubisoft totally just hooked the dude to a truck plowing through a junkyard filled with awful Rabbids merch at a slow, agonizing 5 MPH, dropped him into the paradise of Origins and Legends, then shot him. Poor Rayman
One more thing to add to the list of weird decisions Ubisoft made with this franchise The PC Ports of Rayman Legends had their servers shut down, making the challenge levels inaccessible, which would be fine until you find out that ONLY the PC servers were shut down, and that the achievements behind the challenges weren't removed Another weird one is for the port of Rayman 3 (yeah there is a port of Rayman 3 on PC) They didn't update said port at all, it isn't the Rayman 3 HD version, its a port of the PS2/GC version, but for PC. And this port is an absolute mess, it's stuck on a 4:3 aspect ratio, the game doesn't detect higher resolutions (meaning you get stuck on a very low resolution), it doesn't detect controllers (meaning that it's only playable on KBM, and mapping that is also really cumbersome), and you are forced to play fullscreen It's really weird how Ubisoft treats this franchise on some platforms
Aw great, I thought it was just Japanese publishers like Bandai Namco and SEGA that struggle to make even the most basic and functional PC ports of console games half the time. You know how everybody's really sad and frustrated that the chip shortage and NFTs have basically made it impossible to get a graphics card made in the last 15 years without buying an entire non-upgradeable laptop? Don't be sad and frustrated. I paid way too much for my RTX 3060 laptop that I don't play games on majority of the time because my favorite console franchises apparently rarely, if ever have decent Steam ports. I pretty much only use the fullest potential of my graphics card every 6 months or so to render a sculpt made in Blender, and even then I've had no trouble using even the real-time Eevee render engine on a decade-old laptop that used to belong to my Mom and has no dedicated graphics card at all. All it does it speed up path-traced Cycles renders a bit, but not to the point where I get the much-coveted "real time raytracing." Don't listen to the "PC Master Race." All the computational power in the world won't make an incompetent PC port any better than even the Switch version of a popular console game...
To be fair, Rayman 3 on PC actually came out at the same time as the console versions, OF COURSE it's stuck in 4:3 aspect ratio, because it was the norm at the time! Fortunately, there are fan patches (like Better Rayman 3) that address many of the issues you listed, like actual support for Xinput devices (Xbox controllers), proper 16:9 aspect ratio, higher resolutions, MANY bug fixes and even proper HD texture packs! So yeah, Rayman 3 on PC is kinda busted, but with fan patches, it can become the best version available!
Another weird one, the PC release of Rayman Origins uses really low quality FMVs of the Xbox 360 version for the cutscenes, instead of them playing out in real time like the console versions.
Oh rayman… responsible for 3 of my favorite games of all time, and then just completely disappeared. Rayman 2 and Origins were my childhood and legends was my first game I competed 100%. The beta versions of Rayman Origins and Rayman 2 always fascinated me when I was young and is what got me interested in early versions of games I love. I can’t say how much I adore and miss this little thingimajig
Good news everyone, Rayman recently got announced as a DLC character for Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope, so maybe there’s still a chance for our limbless friend yet.
It's so good! It got creepy out of nowhere (THOSE SPIDERS MY LAAWD!) and that music with them and Tomb of the Ancients. Also, the boss music for Razorbeard still kicks ass.
Just like how Rayman 2 took the gameplay of the original and redefined it, I can easily see a 3D Rayman 4 learning from the UbiArt games and making an even more in-depth 3D platformer using those games' platforming innovations. There's definitely people at Ubisoft who'd love to work on something like that but for some reason Ubisoft is prepared to continue dying on the hill of Rayman being a franchise they can't put any faith in, which is nonsensical especially now during the resurgence of classic platforming mascots. Ubisoft are missing out on a massive opportunity right now.
They're chasing the money. I feel like they've bled the open world thing dry now but will only return to Rayman once their other franchises stop giving them good profit margins. I just worry that it'll be a cash grab with "Rayman 4" slapped on it, which is arguably worst than nothing.
I remember loving Rayman Raving Rabbids on GBA when I was younger, never thought I'd ever hear anyone talk about its existence and how it was the closest we ever really got to Rayman 4
I want to remind everyone that rayman is also one of the few series sucesfully moved to smartphones that were actually pretty good and not a total disaster(not sure about sales though).
This reminds me of a time when Capcom stopped making Mega Man games after Keiji Inafune’s departure from the company. Rayman feels like a similar situation
Rayman origins and legends are one of those games that set the standard for how I saw 2D platformers: Fast, Fair in Difficulty, and overall fun. I’m really glad I got to play Rayman 3 last year Bc that’s just a Chill/fun platformer and with a masterfully soundtrack like origins and Legends. I hope Ubisoft brings back this Limbless Hero in the future.
I love this series so much. Every main game has it's own unique feel to it(except for the similar Origins and Legends) while still adhering to the whimsical fantasy theme and having tons of personality and charm put into them. I really hope Rayman makes a proper comeback sometime soon
You mentioned the creepyness of rayman 2 for a second, and i want to mention that i both loved this game and was scared of it as a kid. The monster thing with the hat and one eye especially scared me. Also id like for origins to be ported to switch and other consoles at some point
Maybe its just me, But I felt like the musical segments of Legends were a really nice pay off in terms of level completion. Even today, the only reason I go back to playing Legends at all is purely for the musical levels.
@@PipeGuy64Bit Maybe, but Legends improved some mechanics (Keeping your speed with the air-kick, enemies instantly popping instead of having to kill them twice when they turn into ballons, etc...) and ported over TONS of levels from Origins, maybe it's the lack of electoons or the fairies
However, in Legends everything is connected through the paintings, it does feel more limited in comparison to Origins, not to mention how Origins had a few more NPC's that also made the world feel more lively, i think, Legends lacks the personality from Origins (THEY ALSO REMOVED THE EYE FROM THE RUNNING CHEST, THAT'S UNFORGIVABLE)
I think I'm more Team Legends personally, I found the more varied level design throughout the game made it a bit stronger, while the latter half of Origins just felt like overly difficult remixes of the first half. Though, Origins did have the better endgame.
eh, i’ve always preferred origins rather than legends but i can definitely see why some people prefer one or the other. I think for me it boils down to how the levels are actually organised, Origins felt like one big adventure with all of the worlds tying in to each other and the satisfaction of getting more and more powerful with each world due to unlocking more abilities. Legends at times felt like i was playing a minigame collection or something, especially with the invasion levels and the murphy levels. No world really has anything to do with the rest of the game and as someone who played Legends on WiiU, the murphy levels are genuinely dreadful.
The first Rayman is always my favourite. I'm terrible at it and never completed it but the music and especially the art is soooooo good. Definitely one of the best looking 2D games out there. And Rayman 2, I recently purchased on the Dreamcast which supports 480p (anamorphic) wide-screen! Again, looks real good.
Absolutely give Redemption a try! It's everything great about the original without all the BS. There's widescreen support, multiple difficulties, an entire new world, and an actually engaging final boss! And best part is that it's completely free on Gamejolt! Might not be a bad idea to get it before it gets into legal drama.
@@flameonoodle1172 I'm pretty sure Rayman Redemption has been on GameJolt for at least two years now. If Ubisoft cared about Rayman even a little bit, they would have long taken it down by now. I think it will be fine.
The reason for why you’ll usually only get 2 stars in Rayman 3 is because most areas have hidden rooms with tons of gems in them (and pretty cool Easter eggs on top of that).
So glad you talk about Rayman! Rayman 3 on pc was the first game I ever played, so it led a huge impact on me over the time ! I think I beated it maybe 40 times, and I'm never tired of it !
The music levels in Legends is why I loved it so much. You have to time your actions perfectly to the beat, so you need to memorise the song as well as the actions you need to do (jump, punch, glide...). I constantly replayed these levels, they're quick and so satisfying to play.
Rayman has a netflix show. He endorses eating cheese made from anthro cow women... seeing how the show milked anthro cobras for energy drinks... I am concerned... even more concerned knowing Rayman called it "damn fine cheese". although the sushi moment makes Rayman motives seem intended.
I've been getting so many Rayman recommendations recently, makes me happy community keeps our big nosed hero alive. If only Ubisoft was this caring too, like they used to...
Rayman Origins is one of my favorite games of all time, I grew up with this series and truly hope it gets the Spyro and Crash remake treatment with every game in one huge packages. I also hope we get Rayman 4, another game like Origins and Legends, Rayman in Mario and Rabids 2, and of course I hope he gets into Super Smash Bros one day. Outstanding video!
It really seemed with Origins and then Legends that they were ready to take Rayman seriously and that he was about to have a Renaissance and not leave the gaming zeitgeist. Yet that was it, after Legends, we haven't seen anything since for the series.
I remember Rayman raving rabbids on the ds. The thing I most remember is that they randomly threw the rabbid cover of ‘Girls just wanna have fun’ as the music for a level
I played the 3DS version of Rayman 2 recently and it was so disappointing. The 3DS is fairly modern and had some amazing remakes like the Zelda remakes and Star Fox! This was so bad, and it didn't even feel finished! Rayman 2 deserved better. At the very least, it gave me a new profound appreciation for other 3DS remakes/ports like Captian Toad, Luigi's Mansion, and Hyrule Warriors.
I just 100%d 2 on the 3ds a couple days ago and my god was it saddening. Audio bugs galore, half the time the music wasn't there or your shots were silent. The gameplay was relatively the same but the feeling of it was gone.
Never expected you to talk about this series but very happy to see it. Rayman was truly my gateway into the world of Video Games and games such as Rayman 3 and Legends are some of my absolute favourite games in the Platforming genre.
If you hadn't mentioned Redemption, I 110% would've! And the description is spot on for how freaking good it is! Seriously, if someone has ever enjoyed ANY Rayman game, they NEED to play Redemption!
does it function as a replacement for the original? ive trudged through it on GBA and attempted to play it on ps1 but the game just NOSEDIVES after world 2
@@wistfulanthophila9317 It has literally everything from every official version and then some. You start with all your moves though, but there's still some backtracking. Not much though.
I grew up with Ray man 3 and I think it doesn't get the respect it deserves same with rabbids I get how it's goofy but that's what makes it fun and Ray man 3 had an amazing atmosphere
Good memories of Rayman 3. I was very active in the Lums Quest on the old Raymanzone site way back in the day, which was more or less a high score competition with each platform getting its own leaderboard, and I remember being so proud when I hit #1 on the GameCube's board for a while... and then the leaderboard was flooded by people with hacked scores, the Raymanzone site itself was brought down by what I can only assume was another hack, and when it finally returned, Lums Quest was nowhere to be found. Alas...
Rayman is really special to me Rayman 2 was one of the first games I ever played, and Origins and Legends got me through a tough time in my childhood If Rayman ever gets a new console platformer game I’ll be more hyped than I’ve ever been
His most recent appearances were his Laserhawk one where he became an anime edgelord, and surprisingly one I unironically love, and the other was as DLC in Mario and Rabbids 2, where they roast him via the Phantom. But he made peace with the Rabbids, which I really hope means a revitalization of the Rayman series is in order.
I remember playing all 3 mainline games (also M) on my computer as a kid and I was blown away how awesome the hub world of Rayman 2 was. So glad the PC version of the game used the N64 port. Screw those levels where I had to spam the space bar to run faster or something, those still haunt my dreams.
Rayman was one of my favourite video games as a kid. I don't know which one exactly, it was on the PS2 in a afterschool club/nursery I went to back in primary school. I freaking loved that game. Because it was a PS2, I couldn't save my progress without one of those Ps2 memory sticks. So every time I'd go play it, I had to start all over again. But I loved it anyway. I think I got the furthest into the game out of everyone in the club. I loved how fluid Rayman moved, like his body parts are constantly swinging but are somehow tied together. When he punched he does a satisfying swing of his hand. Like I said, I don't know which version of Rayman I played, I only remember that it started off in a green area before entering a yellowy desert like area.
Great video! Also glad to see Rayman Redemption, it's fantastic. *ALSO:* the guy who created Redemption just published his first original game on Steam, Scoop Kick! Would be great if y'all could check that one out too because it's fun as heck : )
You know there is a Netflix TV show called Laserhawk that was sponsored by Ubisoft and it's got Rayman on it only he's not the Rayman we all know and love
Congrats! The game consistently handed my ass to me when I was a child. I went back years later and completed the game out of mere spite. Haven't touched it since.
When I was a kid, I fell in love with Rayman 3. To this day it's one of my all time favourites. But it's kinda soul crushing to recall my feelings as a kid, watching the credits, and thinking to myself "Oh boy, I sure love this Rayman 3 game. I can't wait to see what happens next!" only for it to never get a true sequel.
god man i actually have my old rayman 3 winnie the pooh cartridge and whilst i never was able to finish rayman 3 the heffalumps from rumbly tumbly adventure scared the hell outta me as a kid. crazy to hear it talked about here :’)
Believe it or not, Rayman 3 is my favorite game among the main series. It’s probably due to the fact it’s the first Rayman game I played because before that, my only exposure to Rayman was that commercial comparing Rayman and a guy named Ray. Still loved Rayman 3 though.
Watching this again cause I bought Rayman 2 Revolution (for $35) plus two licensed games that I had fond memories of as a kid and Ratchet and Clank. My PS2 is gonna be used so much.
Agreed. Weird to hear AntDude saying it's just okay. And, ironically, despite Michel Ancel's absence, it felt like the most consistent sequel to a previous game. Rayman 2 basically rebooted the franchise with a completely different world and set of characters. And, sure, I do really like Rayman 2 but that IS odd in retrospect. Rayman 3 might've had a more comedic tone than Rayman 2 but it was still very easy to believe it took place in the same world. Then the original Rayman 4 was also going to feel rather reboot-y. Sure, the Teensies were there but now Rayman was going to have a girlfriend that looked like Slave Leia with his own face? Didn't they got rid of all the Ray-people after Rayman 1? Plus, he was gonna ride realistic animals like an eagle or a spider? Oookay? And then Origins tried using the characters from Rayman 2 and locations from Rayman 1 but kinda forgot to tell a story. I mean, there WAS going to be a proper story, according to behind-the-scenes materials and pre-release trailers and all that - but I guess they just gave up on it?
I would love if they came out with a rayman game where the whole game plays like the musical levels in Legends.. those were honestly some of my favorite levels.
10:37 It is apparently the same voice actor, David Gasman, voicing Rayman in both the PS1 and PS2 versions, though. It says so in the credits. Don't know why the voice direction changed so drastically, though.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!!! Rayman Legends is one of my all time favorite games, and origins, 3, and 2 are also amazing. The Rayman series is very close to my heart and it is neglected by Gamers and Ubisoft alike. It is amazing that one of my favorite youtubers finally gives it the attention it deserves
You're not the only one. The way I see it, Rayman has no future at Ubisoft in it's current form, & even if he did, I couldn't support his titles knowing what I know about Ubisoft's practices. At this rate, Microsoft buying Ubisoft, weeding out the scum of the company, & keeping games multiplatform like what they're doing with Activision would be my preferred course of action.
Rayman, the hero that should’ve been in smash and instead ended in brawhalla, still one of the best platforming series, rayman origins is my favorite platformer ever, thank the heavens for antdude giving the series the attention that ubisoft doesn’t
I meaaaaan most the characters smash added were trash. So much potential and look at what we got. Steve is cool i guess?? Banjo and sora were 10/10 picks. They should of used the opportunity to add the most requested characters from the past 10 years. Such as waluigi or even toad or geno or waddle de or shadow/knuckles/tails .
I really love the Rayman series. It probably deserves way more respect in general, considering how Rayman 1 was a highlight of the pre-Crash era of PS1, Rayman 2 was a high point of 3d platformers, 3 honestly is my favorite 3D platformer on GCN at least, and Origins and Legends were arguably the high point of that few years when co-op 2d platformers were popular. (especially since the new DKC games were only 2 player, while Legends could have 5!)
Really happy you decided to talk about this series, rayman is like one of my favorite franchises with rayman 2 being one of my favorite platformers(I have like every single version of it). I hope we'll get too see a proper console game in the near future, it's been soo long. Also glad too see you back antdude, and this video was really great stuff, possibly one of my favorite vids from you, also gotta say you have a great team working with you. But yeah, great video as always, this video really cheered me up today, and I'm absolutely looking forward to your future stuff in 2022!!! >:3 ❤
So happy someone finally talks about the Rabbids games on Game Boy and DS. I have to agree the way you describe it on GBA doesn't sound really...well good, but I actually loved it and always recommend if anyone talks about the Rabbids. It was also my introduction to them so at least I had a well enough entry to that pest
fun fact, theres one level in raving rabbids gba that actually borks up the graphics if you hit one specific enemy... and it borks it for that entire file FOREVER!
Fun fact: From what I understand, the main reason they keep releasing Just Dance games on the Wii is because the Just Dance Wii games are sometimes used in physical therapy regimens.

@@gamerman9548 Rabbid Peach is a girlboss like her idol Peach, she can do anything!
Interesting.
Man... It's literally the game that almost was.
Y'know, doesn't that mean the game, technically, could be tweaked to become a platformer? Like, it would need entire new level designs, no doubt about it, but with the base code being nearly all in there, it would be theoretically possible, right?
So... Has anyone done the obvious thing yet? Are there any Rayman Raving Rabbids mod that reconstruct "Rayman 4" from the already existing code?
@@Mr.HowardEatsPants There is a mod like that, called the Prototype Restoration Mod. I think TH-cam hides comments with links so I can't put a direct link here, but you can just search for it and it will show up.
@@Mr.HowardEatsPants my questions exactly!
No, we've had enough 2D with Origin and Legend. Let's go back to the Rayman 2/3 era, the golden era !
The 3d rayman games are more fun
Origins is exactly that. I think a 3d Rayman game would be a better idea for a comeback.
Ok
@@WH250398 yeah
Rayman recently had a small rise again, with the Captain Laserhawk animated show.
Ramon...
they made him do fucking crack
Poor Rayman
One more thing to add to the list of weird decisions Ubisoft made with this franchise
The PC Ports of Rayman Legends had their servers shut down, making the challenge levels inaccessible, which would be fine until you find out that ONLY the PC servers were shut down, and that the achievements behind the challenges weren't removed
Another weird one is for the port of Rayman 3 (yeah there is a port of Rayman 3 on PC)
They didn't update said port at all, it isn't the Rayman 3 HD version, its a port of the PS2/GC version, but for PC. And this port is an absolute mess, it's stuck on a 4:3 aspect ratio, the game doesn't detect higher resolutions (meaning you get stuck on a very low resolution), it doesn't detect controllers (meaning that it's only playable on KBM, and mapping that is also really cumbersome), and you are forced to play fullscreen
It's really weird how Ubisoft treats this franchise on some platforms
And the only way to get Rayman 2 on Steam was to preorder Rayman Origin. Yes, that game is locked behind a preorder bonus.
@@python_l5367 I didn't even know that. That's a real shame. At least it's available on GOG.

They did NOT disappoint
My god, Rayman 2 was so good. Visually and theme wise it was so surreal, I still vividly remember that game to this day.
It was my favorite game when I was a kid. I always hated that I still havent found anyone who *also* loved that game as a kid
It's so good! It got creepy out of nowhere (THOSE SPIDERS MY LAAWD!) and that music with them and Tomb of the Ancients. Also, the boss music for Razorbeard still kicks ass.
I still sometimes start that game up on an emulator on my 30's. I loved it so much as a kid that the nostalgia is overwhelming
I still treasure my copies of Rayman 2 for Dreamcast and its "remake" Rayman Revolution for PS2.
Rayman 2 is a wonderful outstanding game-i really love it-its for the hall of fame!
Ubisoft is still high on Assassin's Creed, they probably didn't see Rayman as a priority
They don't want to bring players fun. They want to rake in the money. This shouldn't be surprising, but it apparently is...
They're chasing the money. I feel like they've bled the open world thing dry now but will only return to Rayman once their other franchises stop giving them good profit margins. I just worry that it'll be a cash grab with "Rayman 4" slapped on it, which is arguably worst than nothing.
I remember loving Rayman Raving Rabbids on GBA when I was younger, never thought I'd ever hear anyone talk about its existence and how it was the closest we ever really got to Rayman 4
pairing both versions in a nutshell feel like " here your rayman 4"
Yup the GBA Rayman Raving Rabbids was awesome. Loved that game
The aesthetics of Rayman 3 is just excellent. It truly feels like a dream. Just gorgeous.
That game had soul man
The music was amazing too
I have had so many dreams take place in what looks like a level from Rayman 2 and 3

Thats exactly what the game felt like to me when I first played the demo years ago as a kid. Great memories
The funniest thing is Rayman in Brawlhalla is actually really good, like super good. In the most recent meta of the game, he is insane.

They were a little tough, but doable.
It sorta did with back to origins levels in legends (which got a switch port) but yeah origins port would be cool

AND THEN CAPTAIN LASERHAWK HAPPENED
Maybe its just me, But I felt like the musical segments of Legends were a really nice pay off in terms of level completion. Even today, the only reason I go back to playing Legends at all is purely for the musical levels.
Yes they are one of the reasons I keep Legends around
Imo they were the only good parts of Legends. The actual levels just don't quite feel right compared to Origins.
Legends isn't that bad, but I beat it super quick. Like my only complaint is it felt rather small
I think I'm more Team Legends personally, I found the more varied level design throughout the game made it a bit stronger, while the latter half of Origins just felt like overly difficult remixes of the first half. Though, Origins did have the better endgame.
Plus Legends has those great music levels. My favourite is Grannie's World Tour.
eh, i’ve always preferred origins rather than legends but i can definitely see why some people prefer one or the other.
@@atomikaI I honestly thought he Murphy levels were fun, if you're playing with a friend at least, in the Wii U version.
I like Rayman 1 😶
To me, Legends is just a better version of Origins.
It’s ok, nobody was good at Rayman 1.
Rayman is known to be difficult.
& you wonder why you didn't know what was going on in that game lad :P
The reason for why you’ll usually only get 2 stars in Rayman 3 is because most areas have hidden rooms with tons of gems in them (and pretty cool Easter eggs on top of that).
As someone who has only played Rayman M/Arena, it was legitimately one of my favourite childhood games, and the music was boss
Rayman Origins is a masterpiece. Best damn platformer ive ever played, Legends was amazing too.
We need a sequel to legends
Origins is amazing, I agree. A proper return to the franchise. I always listen to the soundtrack of this game it's way too good.
What’s amazing is that even though a bunch of songs in Origins are just different versions of each other, they all sound unique and are awesome.

I remember Rayman raving rabbids on the ds. The thing I most remember is that they randomly threw the rabbid cover of ‘Girls just wanna have fun’ as the music for a level

A new Rayman animated series has been announced in 2019! The dark lum's name is André by the way, and Rayman 2 was released also on PC.
Hyrule Warriors on New 3DS at least
I loved legends, especially the music levels. I really hoped we'd get an expansion on that somewhere in the future!

Alas...
Rayman is really special to me
Rayman 2 was one of the first games I ever played, and Origins and Legends got me through a tough time in my childhood
If Rayman ever gets a new console platformer game I’ll be more hyped than I’ve ever been
His most recent appearances were his Laserhawk one where he became an anime edgelord, and surprisingly one I unironically love, and the other was as DLC in Mario and Rabbids 2, where they roast him via the Phantom.

No, Rayman 2 was the best one!

You know, AntDude AND Rayman are criminally underrated!
6:13 why did that sync so well 😂
So happy someone finally talks about the Rabbids games on Game Boy and DS.
Rabbids sparks of hope is a step up for Rayman, but all we can hope for is that it sells well enough to make Ubisoft make a new game for him.
As a Rayman fan, this was a fantastic way to start the new year!
Thank you for patiently waiting for our first 2022 video!
*Bro i forgot u existed by december 2021*
Fun fact:
From what I understand, the main reason they keep releasing Just Dance games on the Wii is because the Just Dance Wii games are sometimes used in physical therapy regimens.
