These are not side speakers, they are rear speakers. Not true 5.1 channel set up. Install them in rear to experience the real surround sound/theatre effect.

Why you struggle. Just push down the above the coloured socket while pulling it down. Note: Do not connect and disconnect the speaker sockets so much. The unplugging mechanism will get damaged and you wont be able to unplug it anymore.
