Lol this changes so much that one could know about the game. Im over thinking people are making mad reads on me when in actuality, it was a bunch of fucking option selects.
I've been playing Street Fighter since '91(ya i'm 40 now) and i live in a small city with no FGC community or friends that like to play, so i could never learn any of these skills on my own. These video's have helped me in a few weeks that i could'nt learn on my own in years. Thank you
You are the best, wow!. It feels like the secrets are being revealed when I see your videos. Thank you so much. I used to think some people were just psychic.
These video tutorials are amazing not only for people who play but also people that just want to watch fighting games so that they can understand what they are seeing on the screen better. I love it and keep it up ! :D
Infexious, words cannot explain how impressed I am of a teacher you are. I played sfv for 5 years and watched endless tutorial vids on sfv. And I have yet to see one explain OS like you did here. I never really got the concept I never heard it explained clearly. I actually now understand. Omg. This is the most advanced sfv tech video out period. I guarantee no one can show me anything more advanced as this. Omg. Thank you! Maybe I can finally get out of super platinum with this! If could u show me all the OS in Ken's arsenal. It would be much loved by me and other Ken's I'm sure! Most of us r here for Ken tech. Give it to us!
This video blew my mind. To think that people have analyzed the game and can play at this level of execution is so cool. I had heard the term used, but I never understood how strong option selects could be.
This is the best video I have watched on Option Selects. Excellent explanations and video footage to support those explanations. Also this is one of the best made tutorials I've seen in a while... You covered so much, so clearly in six minutes!? You might want to look into offering these skills to companies for fee as your voice, pacing and tone are very well suited to 'How To' or explanation videos like these.
Wow I’ve heard that term a lot option select in SF4 I didn’t understand it then. I thought it was just putting your opponent in a position that they do one thing or another block and get thrown or take the hit and get combo. This is a lot more complicated than I thought but I’m gonna try to wrap my head around it. Thanks for this
I play zeku and reached ultra diamond and just bouncing back and forth from SD to UD. This will definitely help me rank up and ofcourse better my game. Thanks master infexious.
Thanks :) You can also branch out to topics like training mindset, what kind of state you have to be in to best absorb the things you learn from a training session and when to take breaks.
Love this kind of content keep it up, this is very eye opening for me SFV is my first fighting game ive played semi regularly and wanted to get better at and i was always perplexed how players were able to make these 200 iq reads in matches consistently for example parrying v-reversals 100% of the time. Now i can practice some of these and make my friends think i have a galaxy brain
Another top notch video. you taught me alot of stuff i didnt know as much about with option selects. Thank you greatly and please keep the videos coming!
Your voice reminds me of Mechazawa from Cromartie High - buttery smooth. XD I'm just a scrublord in Super Bronze, but I feel like I could learn a lot from you. Subscribed!
I assume you mean how to practice option selects? The method of training depends which one you want to practice e.g. for the V-Reversal you can record "Guard action" 1 in training mode as a V-Reversal and record 2 as an attack. Set both Guard actions "on" and set the dummy to "Guard All" then practice the OS in this video 👍🏾
Really wish i had these videos to watch when I started playing sfv (when it was release) would of helped my game and understanding of sfv. But this is still awesome stuff. Thank you for sharing. Keep it up. Plus ultra 👊
I really liked the video, I'm from Brazil and I loved the Portuguese subtitles. I would like to know how to improve footsies and neutral game in general. Thanks for the great video!
I love the content bro. I wish you had a Zeku in-depth guide though. Your explanation of technique and how there done is very easy to see and understand. Hopefully in the future...Until then keep GRINDING.
Nice video man, really helped. Please for future videos I would like to ask for tips for learning and getting better at neutral game. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the info. I can try the LP or LK whiff on their wakeup>block. Not sure on people V-Reversaling in super/ultra silver much. Maybe I can do stuff w/Birdie that I've seen a good player use. (I don't main Ryu or Balrog). Fun vid.
If Infexious keeps making such great tutorial videos, the ranked match will be more and more difficult to play. I think if we follow these tutorials and practice in training mode in patience, anyone can easily go above Gold ranking.
It seems that you need to pick up different nuances of the game to progress through different leagues. To get to gold, I had to learn to meaty wakeups, stand my ground instead of backing myself to the corner, and that meaties beat ex wake-up reversals which I thought were invincible. I wonder how many hidden, generally unknown layers of the game exist on the way to higher leagues.
LOL, I'm gonna train this stuff against ED and find something like the option select against Vega using Sakura. They will pay for their crimes! Thanks, this was extremely helpful!
1 thing I’m confused with if you os something for example light attack meaty on Ed’ wake up ex uper, doesn’t ED’s ex up will beat the recover frame of your light attacks? Or you have to use specific light attacks that have very short whiff recovery time? And love your pronunciation of chunli, that was very accurate!
Option Select - Delayed EX Spd: After you land heavy or ex spd, dash (input spd motion ending in down back), delay, then press ex.spd button. If done correctly, you will block wake up attacks and dragon punches, you will punish most back dashes and you will ex.spd them of they block or perform a delayed throw tech. It's advanced stuff so don't worry too much about it, but if you manage to pull it off let me know 👌🏾
@@infexiousdc thank you brother you are giving such pro tips. You should definitely post your matches and analyse them.. this might give you even more content to post... Stay safe bro
Well for fighting against zangief The v trigger 1 vacuum is minus 6 on block (please anyone fact check me on that) If they perform the V trigger 1 suction on block (they like to sometimes do it raw or perform a quick attack and cancel into it) and they dont keep up the vacuum until it becomes a block string , thats -6 on block and you can punish it Check that out the OS here is the moment you notice you blocked the suction start mashing your punish If they make it a block string , your punish wont come out If they stop the suction short, youll get your punish Neat stuff
There are more character for option select block not only Ed Falk urien ... option select block works on 7 frame DP startup meaty light attack...for example Rashid, juri, Lucia.. contact me if you want more information about that.
Loving this amazing series, keep up the great work! Have you considered doing any character guides? It might be more work and not as universally useful as these tips, but you're evidently a very good teacher. For instance, I'm merely a scrunchy newbie trying to pick up Necalli, coming from mostly zoners and more defensive chars, and while I've been trying my best to glean as much as possible from your matches, I still only have a vague understanding of his gameplan and neutral tools. There really aren't many up to date guides on him, let alone ones that cover more than just combos. Far be it from me to be ungrateful for what you've already put out tho, and it's understandable if that's not something you're interested in doing, but I'm sure I'm not the only one interested in something of the sorts!
There are different ways to do it, I sometimes practice drills with the training mode dummy, jumping, dashing and throwing out different normals. But to improve reactions, you first have to understand how they work. I'll be covering reactions as a topic in a whole video in the series. Stay tuned!
No, the 3 punches is just used to quick rise off the ground. For a delayed throw tech, all you need to do, in any situation, is hold block first, then press throw quickly. You got to practice it to get the timing down.
Really if I press the 3 punches on the ground I will stand up quicklier? I didn’t know that I’m playing against a friend and I used to throw him now and then now he is using the throw Teck and I can not grab him anymore and he still throwing me without problems it’s getting on my nerves men.
Sounds like it's time for you to practice the delayed throw tech yourself. Also make sure you watch my video on "How to Shimmy" so you can counter him too!
I got so many questions!!!! for offensive options selects how can you build them, is it so character specific or you need to consider the type of buttons in a general basis? (like Medium or lights only work on this or that situation) also would you list all of the option selects? and can you explain how can you program training mode bot to practice some of them (I got miy way to practice backdash tech OS), finally I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS, can I translate them to spanish?
A lot of questions indeed lol my best advice is to stop by my twitch stream if you can, so I can discuss these questions in detail. Thank you by advance.

The v trigger 1 vacuum is minus 6 on block (please anyone fact check me on that)
If they perform the V trigger 1 suction on block (they like to sometimes do it raw or perform a quick attack and cancel into it) and they dont keep up the vacuum until it becomes a block string , thats -6 on block and you can punish it

the OS here is the moment you notice you blocked the suction start mashing your punish

If they stop the suction short, youll get your punish

I have a question. The hitstun and blockstun animations have the same duration right? So no OS for on hit versus on block correct?
Good question. Not necessarily, it varies depending on the move, it can be very different. You've got to make sure you practice the timing for both.
What would be the best os to punish fang’s v reversal escape if you’re playing akuma?
Possibly medium kick tatsu? It will depend on the attack string you use as well. Try experimenting in training mode 👍🏾
@@infexiousdc Cheers mate! Awesome content.
Is there anything you practice to purposely increase your reaction time?
