VIDEO HILARIOUS! I have teens in my life, so this video is timely! Please create a part 2 video, and if / when you do that, then please include WHATEVER (the sassy whatever made with 2 tilted Ls) and GIRL (aka GIRRRRL much slower on the jawbone than regular)! This video made me laugh hard! I think it just might be my favorite one! 🎉
Im right handed but i naturally want to use my left hand to do the motions. Should i try to correct it with my right hand or continue with my left hand?
@@harrisre-nee3017 - There's also BASL (like the interpreter used at last year's Superbowl with Rihanna) so that's another language I wish to learn & explore! 🍫🤓
@@Passion84GodAlways WOW! 🤯🤯🤯 I never knew that was an option lol, but it makes sense!😅 I definitely gotta get into it! 🤩 (I noticed how a lot of AAVE gets mislabeled as "slang", too, but they are not synonymous; Black American English has its own rules and is not as "random" as many people who don't speak it may think.)🗣️ Thank you so much!😍🫶🏿💃🏿💐
I actually guessed all of these correctly except I wasn't sure about "woke" I haven't interpreted or been in touch with the Deaf community for about 18 years 😬🤦♀️ Anyway, trying to refresh my memory and am super curious about ASL slang now. Things have changed so much in technology over the past 2 decades and of course language is ever evolving! Looking forward to the next video.
I would love to learn more ASL slang. I've learned the hot fingers slang from a friend, kinda blowing on your fingers while doing the sign for 'hot' like something was awesome. I know there's a lot I don't know yet!
Thank you Meredith! I was wondering - many years ago, I learned "cool" in the same position as fine (thumb on chest), open palm hand shape, but flat and fingers wiggling. Is that wrong, outdated, or possibly regional (Michigan)?
lol i love this vid so much and here are some more slang words you should make a vid about! cap; fake/lie wyd; what are you doing? bussing; very cool idk; i dont know fr; for real/ i agree
Let's not dilute the important details here. "Spilling the tea" originated in BLACK DRAG CULTURE. Not just the lgbt community. Tea was specifically hidden truths. In other words, gossip. Specificity and nuance matter.
Thank you. But I believe this should've been a deaf peer job. To explain that it's our culture. I understand you were trying to teach us or share, but again, no hearing people shouldn’t be doing this. Do you know that? It’s basically like you’re stealing our culture and job from us, FYI. Thanks
Maybe she made the video because your "pro culturally inclined face"failed to capitalize on the opportunity so next time worry less about her videos and more about the videos that you could be making if you were really concerned as you say you are🧐 'Don't play wit her!'

Yes, I'd definitely love to see an ASL Slang video! 🤩
Great video. I’m a HOH senior adult, so I learned a couple of new English slang words along with their ASL interpretations. Thanks!

1:15 lol is so smooth and I love it
😂 I have an Aunt Karen too, but she is totally the stereotype "I want to speak with your manager!" kind of Karen.
I love this!!! , can we have a part two!!! Your videos are fun , Thank you .
Thank you 🥰
Im right handed but i naturally want to use my left hand to do the motions. Should i try to correct it with my right hand or continue with my left hand?
i think that you should do whatever you are comfortable with as long as u use one hand cuz if you keep switching hands it might be confusing
A video on ASL slang as a followup to this one would be great, thx 😊
We'd love to make one!
I loved this! I work in a middle school. Yes, an ASL slang video would be fun!
I've always signed cool or neat with the dominant hand flat, thumb to the chest and wiggling the fingers back and forth... Similar to "groovy".
Yes that is another way to sign COOL.
I think its funny how you and aslmeredith both have the name “Meredith” AND you both teach asl
I would love to see a video of ASL slang signs! I really enjoyed this video too. Thank you!
Fascinating! Love to see how some AAVE gets translated into ASL! 😀
Girl! It's mind-boggling, really lol!🤯 Even though I'm Black, I prob won't use these signs, tbh, BUT I'm eagerly awaiting ASL slang!🤭

Yes there are variations and that is one of them. Not wrong at all. ☺️
Thank you for letting me know! Much appreciated.@@LearnHowtoSign
Thanks!
I would like to see some sign language idioms
OK I’m subscribed💪🏻
ASL sign Pop Culture ( what I have seen doesn’t really fit. So I wondered if there’s something more specific.)

Informative
Pretty please! Love this!
Funny how gossip looks like two hens talking/cackling. My chickens do that a lot. Probably talking about my goats or the blucky feed pellets. 😅
And yes…ASL Slang signs please.
I know you're the 🐐
Yes, universal slang! I’ll be waiting🤌🏻🫴🏻🤲🏻
plzzzz do a other one plz
Love it.
ASL slang please!!
Yes.
❤❤❤thanks ❤
yes ASL slang!

In “spilling the tea”, tea stands for “truth” not gossip. This slang originated in the lgbt community.

🔥🔥🔥 WORSHIP SINGING
Don't apologize for karens. They deserved that. The good ones are not the issue 😂

I didn't know being deaf was a job! How much do you get paid?
If you prefer a deaf person teaching, Bill Vicars has a channel.
Sign language is a form of conversation not a culture and even then cultures are meant to be shared not gatekept.
Don’t be such a snowflake lol. Do you want hearing people to learn or not?
