Thanks. Yeah, we were wired with a Mic, but sadly it was not EQ'd properly, so we could not use the audio. This is the footage that was just shot on my iPhone and setting on a table across the room. Not the best technique, but I'm glad that we got it down in some form.

His Mother gave him up for adoption at very young age. She died in a Bar room brawl at a young age, I heard from another interview that he did.

I hope you do another interview with him and get more in depth about his own life.

This is amazing. Thanks for posting. Now, where is Bill living? What sort of work or career did he have after he left the service? Next interview make sure the microphone is CLOSER!

Curious to know if he ever met his mother and what happened to her. You have a nice friendly interview style, by the way. Find some other old-timers to video!

It was nice of you to do it. I just found it kind of depressing, when I get to the heart of it. I wouldn't say Bill was a sucker, he was just a kid but clearly Fields didn't give him much of a break.

FIRST of all I didn't "go out of my way". I am a devout fan of WC Fields.
SECONDLY what you call "rude" I call "outrage" that someone can ruin an opportunity to interview a person with unique, and personal insight to the greatest (in my opinion) comedian of the previous century.
THIRDLY I have worked as an interviewer for a local TV channel, so ....... I do know something about the job such as "preparation, respect, and dignity" to both the subject and myself.
    Any more questions?

youre welcome sir. i much more prefer a raw natural type deal on everything. some people are conditioned by the manicured, made to sell world we live in and i just think it sucks. you wanted that interview personally and i would bet youd be just as happy about it even if you never uploaded it here. thats the way it should be. i dont have to say it, because you will anyway, but, keep doing what you do, because it makes you happy and it makes people like me happy. adios amigo

Hes not my "mommy"? I'm guessing you're about 12 years old. Am I right?

I am sorry that you find my comments "ugly". I suppose that they are. But using "good comments to negate the bad ones" shows that you did not take my criticism to heart. It was a VERY BAD interview and I can't imagine why you didn't prepare yourself in order to make it a GOOD ONE. There was so much more insight and beauty you could have got from interviewing him and now the opportunity is lost.
If you ever do another interview think about what I said - then you can come back and thank me.

I agree with BackSeatHump, this fellow needed to to much more background before the interview. It was awkward and if he wised to address such personal things he could have done so in a much softer and more professional manner. It had a very sad energy.

constructive? what?! you did nothing constructive man, all you did was go out of your way to be rude. you didnt offer one bit of advice. also, Mr Cronkite, what makes you think you know anything about interviewing or if i have any business saying anything about it it? how would you know?

If I take up your challenge in swapping insults you'll be in serious trouble. Leave it BEFORE you get hurt.

wow man. you only bad mouthed. you did nothing to help. and whats he supposed to take to heart? you havent said one helpful thing. not one. he didnt ask the questions that you, your highness wanted, so it is bad. sorry to burst your bubble man, but, the world doesnt evolve around you. hes not your mommy.

Please excuse me for being so blunt but what gave this guy the idea he could interview someone? He is the absolute worst interviewer I've ever seen.
