@@FireMrshlBill yeah that's all true. I was disappointed that happened. I always think about Nick foles 2013 run with Philadelphia along with his 2017 run.
Carson Wentz didn't rob anyone. You really think that Nick Foles would have done any better had he been made the Eagles starter? Foles has never been able to play a full season on any team he's been with because he's not built for that. He's a backup for a reason, and he's not the only backup to win a Super Bowl. Jeff Hostetler was a backup who won a Super Bowl for the Giants, but do you see any statues of him outside of Met Life Stadium?
@ things may not have been any better under Foles, correct. However, after winning Philly it’s only Super Bowl, I’d gladly give Foles the roster spot. He’s proven that he’s good enough on the biggest stage. If we have to choose one, I choose the one who won the Super Bowl. There’s no guarantee Wentz would’ve done it. It’s not fair, but it is what it is. Plus trading Wentz could’ve earned great draft picks or players.
@@denimchicken104 Sorry, but you're wrong. If the Eagles made Foles their starter, he'd never get through a full season. What good is being good on the biggest stage if you're not built to play the 18 games you need to play to get to the biggest stage? Look at what happened to him with the Jaguars and the Bears. They'd be carrying Foles off of Lincoln Financial Field on a cart if they made him the starter, and then they'd have to draft another quarterback and start all over again. They were not gonna trade Carson Wentz when they traded up two places to get him in the first round. Your type of thinking is the reason why Carson Wentz felt like he lost the team and the city after that Super Bowl. You can't replace your starter with a backup, and you don't put a statue of your backup outside of your stadium. The Giants made that mistake back in 1991. They benched Phil Simms and replaced him with Jeff Hostetler, the backup who won Super Bowl XXV, and it was a disaster. Hostetler got injured halfway through the season and Simms got the starting job back, and Hostetler got traded away a year later. Backups are backups for a reason.
@ so much to unpack… first, Foles got wrecked by playing on bad teams behind bad lines. The Eagles have one of the safest offenses for a pocket passer. Second, Carson was just as injury prone. There’s broken ribs his rookie season, then the ACL, the broken back, the concussion in the playoffs. It’s football. Third, idk why you’d stick up for Carson like Hes some legend. His career never went anywhere. He was freed from having Foles behind his back and he played like crap and refused to accept coaching. Fourth, investment. Too many people get lost in the sunk cost fallacy. That somehow the right move is sticking with the one you put the most time and resources into. The signs were staring them right in the face the whole time. The team had problems with Wentz and the locker room was tighter with Foles. Personally I always liked Foles, even before they traded him and then drafted Wentz. When I saw him win a Super Bowl, that’s frankly all I needed to see. Tough break for Wentz, but his services weren’t needed. Part of being a fan is the fun in rooting for players you like, and I’d gladly root for a Super Bowl champion for a few more years even if they never reach those same heights. Either player is a bett on the unknown future, so I’ll bet on the guy who gave the fan base its greatest achievement and memories. This is all I’m going to say on the matter.
@@denimchicken104 No, Foles was a quarterback of limited ability. He was stationary in the pocket, he had average arm strength, and he was not physically capable of playing a full season. The Eagles had one of the safest offenses for a pocket passer? Yeah, now, but back then the Eagles had an aging offensive line that were like turnstiles in a subway. Second, Carson was not "injury prone." He had a rib injury during the preseason of the 2016 season, but he was healthy for the regular season and played all 16 games. He suffered a torn ACL at the end of the 2017 season, but the reason for his back injury in 2018 was because coach Doug Pederson and GM Howie Roseman rushed Carson back from his injury in week 3, which they should not have done. You also forget that Carson was the ONLY Eagle healthy during the 2019 season, when Carson had to use players from the practice squad, and most of that was due to GM Howie Roseman making terrible draft picks and free agent signings that were mostly busts or aging, injured players. And that concussion was due to Jadaveon Clowny taking a cheap shot at Carson from behind. If that had been Patrick Mahomes, Clowney would have been ejected from the game. Also, the team had no problem whatsoever with Wentz during the 2017 season when they were winning, and Carson was playing like an MVP. The only time the locker room had a problem with Carson was after they won the Super Bowl and started acting like Foles could walk on water, just like the whole city. Also, you're delusional if you think that Foles could replace Wentz as the starter just because he won a Super Bowl. Let me say this once again.... NICK FOLES CAN'T PLAY A FULL SEASON!!! What good is having a guy who can't play a full season as a starter? That's all I'm going to say on the matter, because what I said are the facts.

We beat Tom Brady and the Patriots with a backup QB, I think we have a really good chance of beating Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs with the team we have now. Fly Eagles Fly! 🦅🦅🦅
we are built different than any other team. And our running game negates the Chiefs pass rush. On D, if we can get 2 or 3 turnovers and not give up those big plays when Mahomes scrambles and finds a wr down field, we should win.
@@12thMandalorian This really is. This Eagles team is much improved from two seasons ago. Defense is better, o-line perhaps has gotten better, the run game has gotten better. They have all the pieces. All they gotta do is put them together.
People forget that Nick Foles wasn't the first backup quarterback to win a Super Bowl. Jeff Hostetler won Super Bowl XXV with the New York Giants after coming in to replace Super Bowl XXI MVP Phil Simms when Simms broke his ankle in the final weeks of the 1990 NFL season, and Hostetler had to get by Mike Ditka's Chicago Bears, Joe Montana and the four time Super Bowl champion San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game, AND Jim Kelly and the Buffalo Bills in Super Bowl XXV.

I loved that game against the Vikings. Their fans came in and thought one or two busloads of fans from Minnesota were going to come in and take over the city and the stadium. Their dressed up the Rocky statue and basically acted like they were entitled to the championship and the game was just a formality. Then their team got embarrassed and they cried for a year about how Eagles fans are meanies and they should be awarded the game and the Lombardi because of it. I heard the Iggs was supposed to draft Russ, but they took Nick because Russ was selected a few picks earlier by Seattle. And thus began their respective careers.
As a Pats fan the name "Nick Foles" haunts me almost as much as the name "Eli Manning" does. That said, I can't help but tip my cap. Foles stepped up and matched Brady, who had himself a career night that night as well. Would've loved to have won that Super Bowl, but it all worked out for us next year anyway so I'm alright all things considered 🤣😅
He was the eagles franchise qb until chip kelly took over as GM and dismantled the roster. Not that surprising that he won the SB on a team that was stacked. He seemed to only perfom poorly on teams that are poorly coached, Jeff Fischer Rams, Doug Marrone Jaguars, Matt Nagy Bears and Frank Reich Colts. All coaches that were gone within a few years.
Fischer ruined so many people. But Foles was just hot and cold at times. When hot, he could thread the needle and was among the best. Very high ceiling. But also had bad games that were ugly. I hated when Chip got rid of him and what he did to that roster. But the journey led to the SB win, so hard to get mad at now.
Dude, Nick Foles was the Eagles franchise QB for about 15 minutes in 2014. He was Michael Vick's backup in 2013 and came in when Vick got injured, and Foles was made the starter in 2014 but only made it halfway through the season before he got injured and then benched for Mark Sanchez and Case Keenum, and traded to the Rams for Sam Bradford. Foles was never good as a starter, not for the Eagles, the Rams, the Jaguars, or the Bears.
Don't go glorifying Nick Foles. Foles won a Super Bowl for the Eagles as a backup, but he wasn't the first backup quarterback to win a Super Bowl. Jeff Hostetler also won a Super Bowl as a backup for the Giants, but you don't see Giants fans glorifying him the way they do Phil Simms or Eli Manning. Nick Foles was never able to play a full season in his career and he was a failure as a starter on every team he played for. The fact is that Foles got lucky. Foles was a great backup quarterback, coming in and finishing up for Vick and then Wentz. He just was never a good quarterback when named the starter at the beginning of the year. I think it had to do with lowered expectations.
good video but I would appreciate it if you could show the play with full audio and commentators when you say "changed foles life" or generally when referring to a play. would greatly improve the narratorship
Crazy how Foles turned into a pumpkin whenever he was playing for anybody other than Philly. Just an awful QB. However, in Philly he had the 27 TD season and of course the Super Bowl MVP. Wish he could have played his entire career in Philly.
Royalty by the fans, sure, but not by the Eagles back office...guy wins a SB and is traded instead of earning a starter QB position for the next season...The Eagles BO always treated Nick as a backup and not even a SB win could change their minds...Hes a great guy wanted to retire an Eagle...Love Nick just not Howie and Jeffrey...

Carson Wentz robbed Eagles fans of a few more years of their hero Foles. It pained me to see him suffer on those terrible teams he went to.
Born and raised and raised in Philly too young to remember all the heartache eagles fans went through but old enough to remember the greatness foles displayed against the goat Tom Brady and we about to do it again against the chiefs GO BIRDS BABYYY!!!!!!
You're talking about this like it's ancient history when it was only 7 years ago! Lol. Really need the Birds to win it again this year. I can't take another heartbreaking loss.
Great video, keep up the great work🔥👏👍🏈
Giants fans must use the pre alcohol a lot
Giants fans had Jeff Hostetler long before the Eagles had Nick Foles.
We gonna get our second Lombardi!! FLY EAGLES!!🦅🦅🦅
He went nuts on the raiders.
He was a starter in between being drafted and backing up carson wentz....technically he was the 2017 backup. but no one ....at least in philly anyway, thinks of nick foles as a "backup"
Even his 2013 season he came out as Vick’s backup
@christophermanley3602 he won the qb competition in my opinion. ....he shouldve been the opening day starter that year.
I only have one thing to say about that Vikings game, The Rocky Curse.
Foles was a monster. err, at least that year.
Nick is a god!
Nick would disagree
Another good video as always keep it up bubs
We beat Tom Brady and the Patriots with a backup QB, I think we have a really good chance of beating Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs with the team we have now. Fly Eagles Fly! 🦅🦅🦅
You have the MVP in Saquon, this is the best chance to dethrone the Chiefs
we are built different than any other team. And our running game negates the Chiefs pass rush. On D, if we can get 2 or 3 turnovers and not give up those big plays when Mahomes scrambles and finds a wr down field, we should win.
as much as i wish eagles this. even more i hope mahomes will overtake brady.
@@12thMandalorian This really is. This Eagles team is much improved from two seasons ago. Defense is better, o-line perhaps has gotten better, the run game has gotten better. They have all the pieces. All they gotta do is put them together.
Great video his story is truly incredible and now the eagles are back into the Super Bowl.
He should have a movie
Watching that game felt like a fever dream, FLY EAGLES FLY 🦅 💚
Doug Pederson made him look good eagles would have won 4 sueprbowls if they kept Doug and foles wentz is the biggest poison in sports
Yeah it was like we all know y'all can take it from Brady but would y'all shoot yourself in the foot and fuck it up 😂but was an awesome game when Nick caught that TD pass it felt like they won ❤
I love your Eagles videos :)
Foles in the NFL, lasted more than Wentz lol
Unfortunately, Wentz is now the backup QB for the Chiefs. Let’s hope he does not get another undeserved ring.
@@anthonystreeter7808 Undeserved? Who the hell do you think you are? Foles and the Eagles would never have even made it to Super Bowl LII if not for Wentz having an MVP caliber year and taking the Eagles to 11-2 and the #1 seed. Seriously, this is why Eagles fans suck as much as Cowboys fans.
Love Saint Nick
I think they were 6 point underdogs to the Vikings that was a sick game !
(Actual thing I saw a Vikings fan post).
Yay Lauren!
I always knew he could do it.
If only 2017 wasnt less than a decade ago, the intro would hit a little harder. "Hard to believe?" I saw it on live TV!
(I also saw most of that 2013 season live, but i recognize your content is aimed at a younger audience than me. Still, enjoyed the video.)
trusting in the birds again
I heard the Iggs was supposed to draft Russ, but they took Nick because Russ was selected a few picks earlier by Seattle. And thus began their respective careers.
This is true!
I don’t think you need to tell any football fan. Everyone knows. 🤷♂️
The Giants had Jeff Hostetler when Phil Simms went down.
Exactly.
I was at the parade two days after that.
I’m not crying, you’re crying. Don’t look at me
A QB people think isn’t good is about to derail the NFL’s next dynasty too!
Intro had me thinking I was watching a "football" doesn't exist vid 😭
Yeah, foles realky came out of nowhere, tbqh.
What podcast was nick on talking about wanting to stay in Philly I'd like to hear that?
Take off with John Clark. It’s on the NBC Sports Philadelphia channel! I think if you search like “Nick Foles didn’t want to leave..” it pops up
He was the eagles franchise qb until chip kelly took over as GM and dismantled the roster.
Everyone tries to look over Ried he was on KC too
Fischer ruined so many people.
It hurts to watch this being from Jacksonville lol. Him and his coach came here to destroy their careers.
I was pissed when Kelly traded Foles for Bradford
Kept Mark Sanchez as a backup QB
Don't go glorifying Nick Foles. Foles won a Super Bowl for the Eagles as a backup, but he wasn't the first backup quarterback to win a Super Bowl. Jeff Hostetler also won a Super Bowl as a backup for the Giants, but you don't see Giants fans glorifying him the way they do Phil Simms or Eli Manning. Nick Foles was never able to play a full season in his career and he was a failure as a starter on every team he played for. The fact is that Foles got lucky. He got lucky that Carson Wentz had an MVP-level season and took the Eagles to 11-2 and the #1 seed, giving them home field and a first round bye. Foles got lucky that the Eagles defense shut down a Falcons offense that nearly beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl the year before to win 14-15. Foles got lucky that the blown pass interference call during the "Miracle in Minneapolis" prevented the Saints from advancing to the NFC Championship Game so that Foles and the Eagles only had to face the overrated frauds that were the Minnesota Vikings. And Foles got really lucky that New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick decided to bench his best defensive player, Malcolm Butler, for the entire game during Super Bowl LII.
Roll tide
Foles was a great backup quarterback, coming in and finishing up for Vick and then Wentz. He just was never a good quarterback when named the starter at the beginning of the year. I think it had to do with lowered expectations.
Nick foles is Alex morran from blue mountain state
good video but I would appreciate it if you could show the play with full audio and commentators when you say "changed foles life" or generally when referring to a play. would greatly improve the narratorship
That would get her flagged or demonetized. Copyrights
nice video , good job young lady
Clearly the rest of his team had nothing to do with it
No fear. The birds didn’t change the playbook at all
To that is my beavers 1:50
I could have sworn you did this one already?
Now they don’t want Hurts to do it against Mahomes I dunno why the young man gets much hate
Its because he has a large package
lol
Ahh yes. The CRABNOLEAG Y SDEE trophy....... The ai getting lazy
Nick foles was a great QB when he had pressure on him but if he didn't have any he wasn't that good
Hey
Hi!
Crazy how Foles turned into a pumpkin whenever he was playing for anybody other than Philly. Just an awful QB. However, in Philly he had the 27 TD season and of course the Super Bowl MVP. Wish he could have played his entire career in Philly.
Does this make the first backup QB to ever win a Super Bowl?
JEFF HOSTETLER
10:50 personally. Not personal.
Anyone else stop watching NFL because of the cheifs?
Royalty by the fans, sure, but not by the Eagles back office...guy wins a SB and is traded instead of earning a starter QB position for the next season...The Eagles BO always treated Nick as a backup and not even a SB win could change their minds...Hes a great guy wanted to retire an Eagle...Love Nick just not Howie and Jeffrey...
Cause all things are possible with God 🙏🥺 go eagles 🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅 🙏 may the best team win with a fair game this Superbowl eagles 35 - Chiefs 16
is it just me or is her voice a bit annoying? no front, maybe its the filter you got on your vocals but something is
