two decades...NBC closing credits, these amazing music and unforgettable images. so I'm interested in all olympic sport summer and winter. Good luck for athletes. See you in Paris 2024.
See you in the next 2 years in Milano Cortina, Italy and the next 4 years in #LA28. The US and China are tied for the top gold medals up to 40. If #TeamUSA women's volleyball would've beat Italy in Paris 2024, then that could've earned them to the top over China this year
Yes, the NBC closing montage was Titans Spirit thankfully! After NBC modernized John Williams original Olympic Fanfare and got ride of Briscoe County years ago I was fearing they would change the closing credits but thankfully they did not!
Dick Ebersol is a big Randy Edelman fan.. Remember NFL on NBC when they did AFC games in early 90s.. The theme was also written by Randy. Not to mention Brisco County Jr theme.
After NBC stopped playing "Brisco County Jr" for the upcoming events in Tokyo I was afraid they would drop "Titans Spirit" for the closing montage. Thank goodness they didn't cause there is no more perfect theme for the Olympics closing montage than Trevor Rabin's masterpiece!!!
This makes me want to cry because it always reminds me of when the Olympics are over and that sense of global togetherness is gone for another 2 - 2 1/2 years. The Olympics are the only sporting event that I actually LIKE to watch, and I am totally obsessed with it
@4:00 is when they show the montage of the falls and fails. I want to cry every time because I know these athletes work so hard and dedicate their lives for that one moment. To see any of them lose or mess up is truly heart breaking.
I am so glad this was posted. Watching the final final credits of NBC's Olympic coverage always filled me with bittersweet triumphant joy and have I have always wanted a recording of that score. Thank you for posting this.
A metaphorical Kenny Albert Call of the 2026 Olympic men's hockey final 5:07 Patrick Kane needs to score this Penalty Shot to tie it up. Kane... Scores! Tie Game! This game heads to overtime, tied at 4. Matthews over the line, shoots and SCORES! HE'S DONE IT! AUSTON MATTHEWS! IT'S A MIRACLE IN MILAN!!!! FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 46 YEARS, THE UNITED STATES HAS WON MEN'S ICE HOCKEY GOLD!!!! Eddie Olczyk: 46 years after the Miracle on Ice, and 30 years after the World Cup title, American Hockey has finally got a watershed moment. Wow.
So cool how they played this when the washington capitals won the stanley cup. It was so perfect. It has marked an end to almost every olympics in my lifetime and was fitting that is what they played when the Caps finally did it, i had been watching for well over 10 years to get to that moment.
Thank you for posting this soundtrack. A great survey of some of the emotions that come about from all the hard work, leading to victory or defeat. I can listen to this music over and over again.
Thank you! I just watched the 2018 closing ceremony and the clip show at the end had this song. I have spent hours searching, trying to find this song again because it is so good. Thank you for listing the mix's sources too. now I can add these songs to my playlist.
This priceless artwork, the 1984 Olympic Games theme closer music IS as uniquely magnificent, beautiful, singularly remarkably fit as the world-famous opening is the same, timeless, peerless and so fit for its intended use. It is good-by, (best and brightest; beloved) and farewell in music form; See you, maybe, in four years again, somewhere fit, to test - how we have grown towards perfection itself! 1984! Olympic - grade music heard for the first times in history.

So basically showing the highlights of the Olympics to close out the Olympics on NBC to REMEMBER THE TITANS music has become like what CBS has with ONE SHINING MOMENT at the close of March Madness.
I'm very familiar with "Titan's Spirit" from "Remember The Titans." So from 2:20 to 3:30. But I had never heard the slower variation on the theme that comes right after that. All I can say is it got real dusty in the room real fast all of a sudden for me.
The slow variation of the theme you hear at 3:30 plays right at the beginning of Remember the Titans. And then, the triumphant rendition of the same theme you hear soon after plays when the Titans win the championship.

The thing I look forward to every Olympics - epic music. I wish NBC had a link to the closing Sochi montage somewhere on their site, I can't find it anywhere. And if anyone posts it here, seems like it gets taken down quickly.
For what it's worth, the Olympic logo in this graphic is incorrect. As per the blue ring -- moving clockwise from 12, the blue ring should go over the yellow ring and then under the yellow ring. Here it's reversed.
I hope NBC will continue to broadcast the Olympics for the foreseeable future just so they can continue to use "Titans Spirit" in their closing Highlights Montage. But if the time comes when they have to give the broadcasting rights away, I hope its to ABC. Disney owns ABC and the rights to the theme. Hopefully ABC will continue to use "Titans Spirit" in their Highlights Montage. 🤞🤞 It just fits and it's so damn good!
why haven't we heard this for tokyo yet? I know it's the closing theme but they would play the final 2 minutes of it at the end of every nightly broadcast, except I haven't heard it even once the past week
Love it! I've been able to buy Randy's music but can't find Trevor's......I've looked everywhere but can't buy and download it anywhere and the Remember The Titans soundtrack is pretty much no where to be found unless you actually own a physical copy of it. Thanks so much for sharing!
Leave it up to NBC to ruin something so perfect. The Dragonheart theme was the perfect intro and segue for the Titans montage. I thought Sochi was an anomaly but I guess NBC has ditched Dragonheart for good. Way to blow it NBC!!!

So long, Tokyo 2021. And thank you for the memories.
That feel when it's Olympic season, but they were cancelled due to COVID-19, and you just listen to the theme music over and over again.
Its really interesting that the score for dragonheart really took on a life of its own more than the movie.
So long, Beijing 2022. And thank you for the memories.

I totally agree! Once ever 4 years nothing else matters, but the Olympics! Everyone comes together to cheer on their country!
Definitely agree
Me too
couldn't have said it better
I'm so looking forward for this year's Olympics Games in Paris and I will definitely hear that song at the end. 😊
So great to hear this theme again at the end of Tokyo, if only NBC retained the Dragonheart portion.
They dropped Brisco County, Jr for the upcoming events music which was a disappointment but so relieved they retained this theme!
@@marcio3santos hope they bring it back for Beijing
Yeah. I’m bummed that they stopped using the Dragonheart song after the 2012 Olympics.
For two weeks every two years we prove it can be done. Thanks for reminding us. What an inspiring theme.
@4:00 is when they show the montage of the falls and fails. I want to cry every time because I know these athletes work so hard and dedicate their lives for that one moment. To see any of them lose or mess up is truly heart breaking.
Remember the titans!!!
THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR!!!!! A million thank you's!!
brought tears to my eyes for so many reasons. The power of music and founded by our own individual memories
Glad this was used again for the Paris closing credits. I hope someone uploads it
Always gets me. Yes, NBC has their flaws and problems when it comes to the Olympics, but this is not one of them. Always...Remember the Titans.
I am so glad this was posted. Watching the final final credits of NBC's Olympic coverage always filled me with bittersweet triumphant joy and have I have always wanted a recording of that score. Thank you for posting this.

Dragon heart yo.. The feels...
This should also play at the end of each FIFA World Cup soccer, at the end during the closing credits.
Agreed

Can someone put this on the Tokyo 2020 closing montage for those who are not in the US to see. The Online version was a bit flat without this

NBC played the Remember the Titans portion after the Closing Ceremonies.
Hey!!! It's "To The Stars" by Randy Edelman!!!
i swear this is the soundtrack for the movies gettysburg
NBC used the theme from Gettysburg for the 1996 Olympics.
Also, Randy Edelman wrote the music for both Gettysburg and Dragonheart. Parts of their scores do sound similar.
