    At 23:11 when you move your Viking to the other island, you no longer have any influence at the island you left. You would have to give that ruin back and lose it.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      That gets fixed later in the playthrough.

    Hi,
    How did you manage to get the board flat ? Even after several days with something heavy on it, it doesn't stay flat..

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Kept it laid flat on the table in a room with my dehumidifier running. Maybe it mattered or not, but it survived the play through :)

    1:03:16, Am I correct on this rule? Whenever a player has more settlers on an island, the other player loses one. So when more AI vikings showed up, you should have removed one. Happened more than once.

    when the enemy has a collect resources rune action, he will not be able to do it, because it’s not a harvest action, he will do the corresponding rune action on the enemy mat instead.

  • @Mattsmindmeld
    @Mattsmindmeld ปีที่แล้ว +1

    When the bot did the sail action shouldn't they sail for the rune in the top corner rather than the rune that triggered the action itself? I have attempted and got sidetracked by life like four different times trying to play this one solo. My biggest complaint is there is this weird assumption that you just know and understand the iconography on the cards. It is not as intuitive as the designers intended.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It always sails towards the rune on the card, which ever of the two runes of that color is closer while requiring a move.

  • @tbatrics
    @tbatrics 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    For round 3 did you have to shuffle the discard? I ran out of cards for that era.

    Great video, and one that helped me with my first play through. During my game, I definitely forgot to add the influence of the ships at the docks, hahaha. I do have a couple of questions, though. If your influence and the AI or another players influence is equal, then nothing happens, and neither player loses a Viking? Also, at 37:15, when the AI had to fight the Invaders, the AI won the fight, and you mentioned that the Invader card gets discarded, but doesn't it actually stay to the right of the round tracker board for further Invader battles if needed? Also, with drafting in the last round, did you have one pile that had only two cards in it instead of three?

      It’s been a while so I don’t remember. Of all the TE games, this one is the most fiddly. That’s why I encourage people to use this vid to get a general sense of fun, not every jot and tittle of the rules.

    Got this to the table solo using the Dized app tutorial. Bot is a hot mess of multiple chained actions quite often due to gaining resources. Quite a few times there was confusion with multiple battles occurring - are they concurrent or simultaneous or restricted? No one seems to know on BGG and no word from the designers. Can't believe the solo got sufficiently playtested. However saying that it does have the potential to be a good game.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ultimately, the convoluted nature of the bot keeps this one out of the top tier of Tiny Epic for me.

      @@OneStopCoopShop to be fair you did a fantastic job of doing a playthrough! I'm thinking you mightve had to do a bit of editing to cut out the times you needed to refer to the rulebook?
      What worries me the more games I collect the worse it is remembering the rules between plays (which could be months in between). This game may not get to the table (like Tiny epic dungeons) due to the rules overhead. Pity.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MarkThould Thanks! I actually had a call with the designer to clean up rules issues before filming. I had most of the rules; the biggest thing is sequencing all the extra actions.

  • @KMReviews

    I’ve played this solo twice, and both times the last card had the enemy take two of my ruins and win because of it lol. I personally find the enemy to powerful I’m solo mode lol. Like a harvest card can cause so much to happen at the wrong time. Like they suddenly knock off my boat, stealing my ruin, they add people killing my Viking, then they start a battle, etc.
    But I’ve also enjoyed how the AI really feels like a strong opponent and it just Doenst feel like a dumb AI

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Apparently it’s supposed to do that :). Personally, I find the extra actions a bear to track and execute, but I got used to it after a play.

      @KMReviews ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@OneStopCoopShop yes initially it was a lot. I think it’s the kind of solo mode that if you do that a lot it just becomes second nature. But for the first time it’s definitely a lot.

      @OneStopCoopShop  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for checking it out! It definitely went up after my plays. Ultimately, the bot is a bit too involved to break into the top tier - I cut out a lot of rechecking the rules from the vid. But I like it, happy to have it around.

  • @tomtomspa

    the enemy can’t build a temple on an island where there’s already one. You must have chosen an other island and therefore lost the rune.

    Does the bot player only attack that one island or do they actually spread out and invade other islands? From this game it seems they only go to your C rune island and then back to their homebase? Why don't they invade all the other islands? If that's what they only do then Solo variant is well and truly broken.,........ Hang on they just spread out 🤣🤣 took them long enough

    • @OneStopCoopShop

      @@OneStopCoopShop cool I was getting worried that all the bot did was stay in one place lol guess it's the luck of the draw. I'm not a big Euro game fan but this game has perked my interest - got the Tiny epic Dungeon loved that - dungeon crawler I'm a big lover off lol.

    Its steel not iron
    its N rune not H rune
    and when you moved your settler from the N island to the C island you should’ve given your blue N rune back to the island because you don’t have influence there anymore. Also I do believe once you enter a battle you have to pay the steel its not a choice whether you want to or not after you reveal cards. If you don’t have the steel you can’t engage in battle. Otherwise very informative.

    • @SarahHadley162
      @SarahHadley162 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think he's referring to the fact that the "N" rune does not correlate to our English letter "N." It looks a lot like an N, but that symbol in Elder Futhark actually correlates to our "H." :)
      Of course, by the same logic, "C" isn't a "C." That appears to be a made-up rune, but it's close to the Futhark "P."

    Convoluted. OTOH I got my shipping notice last week so I expect I’ll see this fairly soon. My experience with the Tiny Epic series is that, even if it doesn’t click with you, it’s a fun few afternoons at the very least. That plus keep the rules on PDF nearby. The tiny rule books are not epic.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This solo is so convoluted. The vast majority of the time you’re managing the AI and their turn can cascade into a huge drawn out turn. I’m selling this off quickly.

      Do you think a software solution could be easily implemented? Ive done this with wingspan and Unearth. (the only two games I play solo currently. besides moonrakers luminor) Tbh I find solo board games kinda awkward. They feel incredibly fiddly and I often forget solo rules, or often times to even do the AIs turn. (frequent problem in unearth). So I write up my own companion apps on my phone. Wondering if this game could do something similar.
      With the card drafting I think it will be interesting. I could just numerically sort cards by names and add them to the AI that way. But that could end up being just as fiddly as running them myself.
