I wanted to dedicate this video to Raj from Beisan Systems who recently passed away. Raj and I spoke on numerous occasions and he was a very smart and genuine guy. He was always open to listen and wanted to help out everyone and anyone. Raj discovered and developed many of the Vanos solutions for the E39/E46/E36 cars and played a huge role in informing and helping the BMW community. He has my utmost respect and will be dearly missed. Please keep his family in your prayers and continue to support his company (Beisan Systems, which is still run by his family). Rest easy Raj, your legacy will live on forever!
So sad to hear! His Vanos solutions have been an incredible contribution to the BMW community. I'm currently running his seals in my E39, and I actually need to redo it again after another 100k miles since I never did the rattle kit.
Wow, brother and sister. This is a fantastic project! And here in Europe, the 6 manual speed 540i is gaining a lot of value. In Germany, these are cults already. These e39 v8's embody the "Freude am Fahren". Dutch regards, Nico

Thank You Rich! Definitely a lot of info, we were originally making a full DIY on the Timing Chain job, but then my wisdom teeth issues derailed that plan
They were extracted back in September, but I a fragment was left behind so they had to go back in again to get it out, which is why I was swollen in this video lol

You can use ST lowering springs for the rear. I've used them to eliminate the troublesome and leak-prone air system (old), that was constantly an issue on my '99 528iT. Best move ever!

aye i got a issue with my bmw, its a 2010 bmw 335i automatic, just swapped a used new auto transmission into the car but the issue is that the dash displays neutral when in a gear. Now does the valve body need programming and is there an easy way to do this, also would the gear selector possibly be the issue? i been trying to figure this out, wanted to see if you could help me out any way
Can I reuse the clutch switch I cut off from my manual donor car to use on the auto im converting? I realized it only has 3 wires and think it’s missing the blue/brown wire.
Hi, i have an e60 523i and i need your help what it might be. My problem is going on reverse and yes, i did change all the sleeve, solenoids, pan, fluid. Problem occur when i went for a long or short drive and it wont on reverse unless i turn off/on back. Please help!

100% Mine were footaad, I polybushed the whole car seeing as removing the rear axle is damn near half the car lol Was on 125000 miles when I had to do it and they were bad, the subframe hit the chassis when levered on
This car will most likely need a full rear suspension overhaul in the future, but as of right now the goal is to have the rest of the car mechanically sound. The owner has a lot of other plans once the car gets back to him

Hi I hope you can help me I have a 2002 325i automatic I did a main seal replacement and swapped out my trans mission when putting the transmission back on I snapped the two 10mm bolts on the shifter bracket what could I do now
Hey, you will need to extract the left over of the bolts from the transmission and then replace them. You may have to clean up the threads as well if they are damaged before putting in the new bolts. You don't really have many other options since that is the only spot the shifter bracket will attach.
@@arkculite You might be able to just remove the transmission crossmember and tilt the transmission back and get a 90 degree drill adapter with short drill bits to try and remove the rest of the broken bolts.
@@ShopLifeTV I have failed to extract the bolts the extractor keep snapping I went thru sets of extractors. I was wondering if you think I can weld the bracket on btw I took the trans back off took me like 30mins
I dont know if youll see this i hope you do if anyone knows the anwser feel free to tell me but I was wondering if a axel out of a 2003 325i will fit into my 2002 325ci?
You will need to check the part numbers. There were a few different variations between the axles across the e46 non m cars and some of the 325i axles are different than the 325ci axles since the differential output shafts are different.

180,000 rear subframe bushings are a must on a wagon. Rear subframe holds the entire suspension, bushings on the wagon get smoked by comparison
