  • The Rogue Overland Crew takes you through a review of the Method Race Wheels 701 with Bead Grip® Technology. Running these wheels on our 2000 Toyota Tacoma 4runner we have had them in sand, snow, on overland trips, long road trips, and on hard off road trails. Check out this Method Race Wheels review video to see what we like and don't like about these 4x4 wheels.

    It's cool that they finally came out with this design because the trick I would use was I would use a wire wheel to to scuff the bead area on the rim all the way around it's circumference in the direction of rotation which in theory is the same thing they have done with this design but in a more aggressive manner.
    The only downfall I see is if the tire has to be removed from the rim after having several several 1000 miles on it to do a proper patch repair is that it might damage the rubber covering the bead cable when removing the tire from the bead.😖💁‍♂️

    Are these overkill for beach driving?

    • @RogueOverland
      @RogueOverland  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It really comes down to how low you are going to run the pressure. In hard packed sand you can get away with higher pressure but in really soft sand we will often run 8-10 PSI. It also depends on how much side to side pressure will be on the tire. The lower the air pressure and the more side to side force on the tire (trying to push it off the bead) then the more helpful these wheels should be.

  • @dcd6115

    I guess this is where a fake beadlock ring shines. Instead of destroying those brand new wheels, you just replace the beadlock ring. Looks like all the damage occurred right where a ring would have been positioned. I'm not saying the dings are bad per se, I know some people like to show off their battle scars. But if that's the damage after just one outing, I'd sure love to see what those pretty bronze wheels look like in 1 year. Probably won't be so bronze anymore.
