0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds- 'slow!' How FAST do people actually need to go? The aesthetics of the V8 Vantage are stunning- really beautiful, and well proportioned.
@@Schaufelorthe Aston is NOT expensive. Most of the parts are ford/volvo. Everything is accessible. Any good European mechanic can work on the car at a fraction of the price AM will charge. Absolutely no issues with my car. Granted, I do a lot of preventative maintenance and maintain my cars to the max - I probably go overboard. For example, at 25k I just changed all the fluids (break oil trans coolant power steering antifreeze…), the belt, pulleys, tensioner, idler, air filter, and all the struts … all in with tax and parts $3,000. Cheaper than a Honda for all that work. The only real maintenance is your standard oil change and fluids. If you’re crazy like me, regular detailing and leather care won’t hurt either. Otherwise, get in and enjoy. Clutch replacement at around 75k. These cars were well built and are incredible to drive. You won’t regret buying one.
I’ve driven some of the fastest super cars out there. They are fun. But the enjoyment you get from mashing the pedal eventually wears off - especially in the age of Tesla where any electric car will smoke even the most expensive internal combustion. But the Aston is timeless. The hand crafted interior makes each one unique, the fact that there is little to no plastic is increasingly rare. I get in an urus and just laugh at how cheap and wonky it is. When buying an Aston, you’re buying a real drivers car - v8, naturally aspirated, dry sump, mid engine, manual transmission hand crafted machine. The amount of effort and time that went into designing the car, inside and out, and making each one, is special. The design is timeless and understated. All around awesome car and plenty of fun to drive like an English gentleman, or an angry American.
@@dhr2llcsquared162 Haha, thanks for the info. And i agree, new Lambos and even Astons´s interior looks like a toddler has designed the interior. I can´t believe it and i am not even that old. But it makes driving an old Aston much more tempting.
I’ve owned an 08 V-8 Vantage Roadster with a manual transmission for two years and I love the car. It’s been very reliable and a joy to drive and take to car shows.
I have nearly owned my ‘06 Vantage for the same amount of time… however, mine ticks too and I have been told by mechanics that it is nothing to worry about unless the sound drives me crazy. With that said, I must have missed the cars you’re after potentially? I am also a new dad. So congratulations and great review!
Very kind and congratulations on becoming a dad. As for the noise, the the Ferrari Center said the same thing, the engine was perfect just a “can you live with it” question. As for the next car here is the blog - vint-tro.com/petrolhead-vs-family/ . A car is missing from the list, since the blog a 991 911 turbo s could be another contender.
yes, that color is very nice. mine is, IMO, the darker and less attractive meteorite silver. and it's no wonder previous owners did not sort the knocking noise. maintenance staff in general are well-versed in making excuses as to why client's problems that would involve free service are in the client's imaginations.
I like the darker grey, works better if your want to add black accents. I heard it all, the delivery driver who use to work on Astons, Aston engineer and the garage. In the end I knew something wasn’t right.
These cars get such a terrible reputation for being unreliable. This statement couldn't be any further from the truth. Aston Martin vantages are truly hand built cars with so much attention to detail put into every point of driver to vehicle contact(areas that a driver will come into contact with and or view/see/notice upon every transaction made with the vehicle). They're far more reliable than any BMW M car or Mercedes Benz AMG you could EVER buy. I've owned many, and my AM V8V has had legitimately NO issues in comparison. Considering I'm 1 of the few ppl who actually put real milage on it. An by milage, I mean a shit load more than the avg 1-2k per yr that seems to be the avg these cars see across North America. Instead I've put an avg of between 5k to 10k miles per year since I've purchased it. Hands dowm best car I've ever owned. Treat it right, don't be afraid to perform ur own maintenance and sit back an enjoy the smiles per gallon(also gets same milage as my w204 C63AMG AND my e90 S65M3) and the non stop looks u get from everyone u pass everywhere u go.
great video, you should not have trouble selling the car, however, this sort of vehicle, is ideally suited to someone whos looking for long term ownership, that being said, when ones young, and a new addition arrives, peoples circumstances can change, and sacrifices need to be made unfortunately, im tempted in this myself, as its a coin flick between the DB9 and the V8 Vantage, im still pretty much undecided right now, but i will be keeping my eye on this, thanks
Beautiful car and amazing colour but you didn't give much detail about the mechanics, for example I believe these cars only get about 10 mpg and the clutch is allegedly very heavy and expensive to replace, also parts for these cars are overly expensive. These cars are so much better looking than say a Porsche but I'm sitting on the fence whether to buy one or not.
This is just 1 massive sales pitch 😂😂 I don’t have to sell it, Really? Sounds like you’re desperate pal, I will keep mine as i don’t really need to sell it!
You are right, this was a video to see if there was interest in buying a good car, and there was and now it’s sold and living in New Zealand. Please see the video of Jonathan’s replacement.
Why that music in the background while you are talking? I will never understand why people do that. Do you think the background music makes your video more 'entertaining' etc.? Are you after clicks/likes? Or is your main purpose to convey a message with substance to people interested in finding out more about these cars? If the latter, the background music is utterly superfluous and just sucks.
Thank you for watching and sorry you feel that way. We try our best with our videos, and sometimes we don’t get it right for everybody, but we do listen to advice, so appreciate your comment.
@@Vinttro Thank you. And sorry for my too harsh comment. I made it in the 'heat of the moment' ;). Apart from the background music this is a great video about a great car!
I think its brilliant it does 0-60 in 4.9 instead of 2.5. You can enjoy the sound much longer

Totally agree. I love mine. It’s a beautiful car and speed means nothing.
@@oliver13809 I am in love with this one and the Jaguar F-Type. Do you think the Aston is substantially more expensive to own? thx

Beautiful people drive Beautiful cars 🚗 ❤ dream car 🚗 😍
Nice review and story man....only one thing: you could have done it outside! Ahahahah. Amazing car tho....I hope one day I'll have one too.
I want one. The V12 Vantage S Roadster in manual format.
Before buying ANY Aston consider this; dig a hole in your garden and everyday go and throw a tenner in it and see how it feels!
Need better lighting and camera work but amazing car
mismatched piston shims? how did that come about? also, how did you not hear this when first looking at the car?
Tbh, sometimes you miss obvious things when you fall in love with a car. This was one. I am not sure on the shims, maybe British engineering 😊

I will give you a secret, that most of the vantage parts are land rover / ford. you can save up some money.
What year is this and did you get new headlights?
what colour is it again ? - I cant hear it
Tungsten grey
what's the colour of this beautiful aston?

Has the car been sold yet?
Hi, yes it’s sold, went to New Zealand in the end

Shims?....in mid 00's......pathetic from Aston. Should have been hydraulic. Old Testarossa's had shims.....old and an annoying maintenance cost
