If you want to have a perfect paint match to the body for the wheel. Spray some of the paint from the spary can in to a pot, the lid works well, give in a few minutes to rest then you can paint it on with a brush! Hope this helps loving the model so far!
I'm very impressed on what you achieved with this custom! Aside from what missing from the model, it looks so much like the real Season 2 Model!! It's the face and the touch up to the boiler and sides that did it for me. I have an idea you will do James in the future!
Say what you want, this is epic! If you really what a S2 percy, you need to make is cylinders rock up and down as he runs! Edit: oh my god! TrainBoy gave it a heart! Thanks so much!
Thank you so much man! :) I debated his loose cylinder but lowkey wanna keep him top for running; I had it the slightest bit offset when I reassembled him and it was a MESS sadly! So I may try to find a way that more just looks the part if I can lol
@@ItsTrainBoy haha, I wonder how the real prob ran behind the scenes with his cylinder on the verge of falling off! Also, thanks for replying - means so much to me to have such and inspirational person (IMO). Many of my custom ttte engines have been inspired by you!

If nobody's noticed(well this is from my observation) bachmann thomas and friends g scale are not to scale because g scale is originally a narrow gauge scale that's almost the Same size as the gauge 3 scale standard. So narrow gauge 1:22.5 scale engines are meant to run on it. And gauge 3 is 1:22.6. So for Bachmanns models of this gauge that are standard gauge to be accurate they'd need to make them gauge 1 scale instead (gauge 1 and g gauge run on same width tracks) which is 1:29 or instead make the wheelbase wider to run on gauge 3 track. Just saying.
If you want to make Percy look like season 2 I recommend you try to remove the somebox support (that tiny black box under his smokebox) bc the supporter was added for TATMR meaning that before TATMR, Percy didn't has the smokebox supporter.
I like to think that Percy himself was classified as a type of pug saddle tank, because I just think it’s cute and it sounds catchy. Percy the western Pug.
It's all perfect except for one thing. The Bachmann Thomas engines are all a larger scale than the actual ones, while still using the same track gauge, making them out of scale (Still love this model though)
Another fantastic G scale video! This gets me so excited to start my G scale Railway. I have my Thomas, just gotta wait next yeah to start construction!
I’m honestly fine with Percy having no number, because it reminds me of the railway series, so I wouldn’t be dissatisfied of there not even being a number, I just really like the big green ol model :)
I’m looking to refurbish my G-Scale Thomas but it looks like the shop was closed or something. Do you know any other way I can get a series accurate G-Scale face?
Hey Trainboy, I’m updating my Large Scale Thomas and Percy to look more like their model series counterparts. What kind of gloss coating do you recommend? I just want to make him look more glossy and more like season 3 to season 5. What do you recommend I use? I don’t want to repaint him I just want to make him more glossy. Any suggestions?

I'll be honest. I have never in my years of modeling seen anyone meaningfully remove detail off a model, personally, I consider takong the hinges off the saddleboxes a bad move, but still, I fucking love what you did with this engine
As a Percy fan/collector, I can say that absolutely did Percy justice here. Phenomenal work as always. Can’t wait to see him finished.
Ay another Percy fan :D
I hate Thomas and friends (hides all my Thomas toys)
Basically identical, season 2 Percy is prime percy. His “yes sir, no sir, of course sir” when he got nervous was always great
I say 5, but 2 was alright too

You’ve done a fantastic job on making Percy Season 2 accurate. Especially mid tone green and the face masks.

ok that made me laugh hader than it shold have
We need to see more like this. Love the show accurate models
Percy is fresh from the works
Splendid job! As a fellow model series lover this is basically fully accurate. Besides the stuff u said of course. Great job
I really really really couldn't do anything like this, especially to something worth a lot of money. Kudos.
I have to say this is a very good model of Percy you should definitely make him say DONT CALL ME DIRTY PERCY
That is a slick Percy my man
This has to be my favourite model you've done!
Take a shot for every time he starts a video with “it’s not finished but I’m happy where it’s at to show you all”

Hey look a first comment that's not just "first". Cool
Shorten a 1361 into an 0-4-0, add circular windows and saddleboxes and you have a realistic TV series Percy.
This looks amazing! I'm now tempted to make my own
get this man to 50k, he hs made the most adorable custom in the world

5:29 aww cute lil doggo

I love seeing your G scale stuff, please keep it coming, the mods are inspiring me! :) 👍
blimey, it's so real!

O MAH GOD THIS LOOKS SICK also I noticed your dog wink
Why did Percy have his headlamp on his too great lamp iron?
0:59 why his right coupling rod look so scuffed compared to the Left or is that the camera?
look at him
it's majestic
Percy looks awesome, also, cute dog lol
I see trainboy, i click. Also, i may get some G-scale trains for the holidays.
he finally made the little green goblin on wheels
Nice work, man!
Will you put in 2 servos for the eye mechanism so you can control them yourself? That would make this model even cooler.
Why is PERCY so cute when you look at him
This is awesome

Percy s my favourite, nice custom, it looks great
Heads up, you still need to remove the black box (I guess it’s what houses the steam pipes) under his face so it looks like his smokebox is floating
Yeah but I probably won’t be doing that, seems more trouble than it’s worth for something hardly noticeable
@@ItsTrainBoy funny how you say it’s hardly noticeable when it’s the reason I prefer the pre season 6 model. Great job with your model nonetheless 👍🏻
I gotta ask what's the difference between the season 1 and 2 engines besides the face.
Percy is cuter then I thought.
I just want to say that I don’t think you need to give Percy a glossy finish.
The mat coat looks absolutely gorgeous on him.
Dude it’s all fun and games till trainboy makes a freaking Percy with MOVING EYES THAT MOVE WITH A CONTROLLER
Is it just me or do i want to just.. hug that percy
Do you think you may be able to propafy your Thomas comes to breakfast g scale custom into a accurate S2 Thomas and your James as well?
Maybe one day, but really I was only concerned with doing such to Percy as of now
Did you actually end of selling Thomas or did you change your mind last minute or it just didn't sell, to use him for spare parts (the whistle piece)

i don't understand why the comments are saying that this is a replica. Its obviously the exact same Percy the show crew used in season 2.

Um quick question trainboy, how are you able to run more than one engine on you 00 gauge layout?
Couplings, good track, and a good controller honestly. For OO, 009, and N I run Kato almost exclusively and it always does me fine!
Thanks I was just asking because I want to use Kato track because in my opinion Bachman Ez track is terribly
Also Is using a kato controller easier to run more locos than a Hornby controller
Hey trainboy. Ur percy model reminds me of the real percy prop. It just needs the number 6
