Just a heads up, behind the crew in the cab is a large tank which takes up most of the space behind them, that is dolgoch’s (or rheneas’s) water tank, seeing as there is (obviously) no saddle or side tanks, and there is no well tank either, due to the complex valve gear of the loco. So the water tank is in the cab behind the crew

I’m sorry for your loss. It hits hard. You know? I have experienced the loss of a loved one… no, two on the same day. (my guinea pigs.) that was seven years ago. Your situation now is similar to mine, you got attached to someone, who you’ve know for as long as you’ve lived (I presume) and now that person is gone. I do remember life before them, but I still loved them with all my heart. I’m still a bit depressed, but I can assure you. In time, things will be better than they are now. Not better than they were, but better. As I like to believe: “the past is in the past. You can’t change it, but you can look back on it. And some day, you are going to smile about all the good times you had. You should enjoy what’s happening in the moment, rather than dwelling on your bad memories in the moment. You can live many times, but you can only die once. Try and make each second of each day worth living for!”
Trainboy probably won’t heart this comment but he’s making content so good it has the likes to counter against some of the best TTTE TH-camrs. Making us laugh, feel nostalgic, and have fun in the way. This man needs to do a Skarloey topless next.

Wow, your models are some of the best ones I've ever seen. I would compare them to Mattel, but your models are too perfect for that. Also you can probably build Stanley from the RWS with Bachmann's Baldwin Trench class locomotive. Keep doing awesome stuff.
This is great probably one of your best yet! Please do the unfinished Henry out of hornby Henry, paint the locomotive red (apart from the face) and leave the tender how it is. I am going to have to agree with you on Rheneas, he is one of the best Skarloey railway characters other than Skarloey. All the best! :D
I got a bachmann rusty a week ago, he was always one of my favorite narrow gauge engines and bachmann's rusty is a very small model but his size just makes it cute in some way lol, I also ordered 2 slate wagons for him as well.
I feel that I really should have seen this custom coming but here I am, surprised, impressed and inspired to make my own (once I get a Bachmann Rheneas and/or Skarloey.)
Aw man, that looks awesome! I've wanted to incorporate Hon3 into my layout for the longest time, and looking at these Bachmann narrow gauge engines, I'll probably get to it soon.
A few minor recommendations (based on the real Talyllyn & Dolgoch, as well as the Very Old Engines illustrations): the cluster of three small steam valves on the boiler. A search of Dolgoch will turn up what they look like. The safety valves (attached to dome, an excellent illustration of Skarloey in Crosspatch shows the pair of them reasonably well.) Easily made out of 2 bent paper clips and some plastic cable wraps. Lastly, his second whistle. Dolgoch has a lower pitched one, attached to the right hand side of the dome. Perhaps Rheneas' original Bachmann whistle? Overall a very good model and a faithful representation of the books. My suggestions are purely cosmetic, but in real life, when polished up to shine brass-like, these fussy little alterations make Dolgoch incredibly pretty.
I never realize how small these models are until I see them running, but wow, the narrow gauge ones are smaller than I thought. I don't know a lot about model railroading, what size/gauge models are you using for the standard gauge and narrow gauge models?
I think the next step is to steal a smudger face from an ertl smudger, file the back down, get one of those On30 (OO Gauge, yes, it will fit on your standard gauge track) scale class 10 Baldwin trench engines, paint the boiler, cylinders, side tanks, and cab unlined red, remove the hose from the back, slap the aforementioned smudger face on the smokebox door and you’ve bought yourself a model of Stanley.
Now do you know why the reverend made Scarlowy and Rheneas cabless? It is because Talyllyn and Dolgoch where delivered from fletcher Jennings that way in 1864 and 1866 respectively to the Talyllyn Railway. Almost All the events on the SKR have a basis on events that happen on the Talyllyn Railway, sometimes with frightening similarity.
Fun fact when tallyalyn got its cab skarloeys brother Dolcoch or rhenias was used less and less because tallyalyn was more safe and kept them dry in the rain

I think the standard gauge is OO scale
And narrow gauge is HOn3 scale.
If you do ever do Skarloey, remember to take his rear wheels off as well.
Perhaps to go along with them you could do some Mid-Sodor Customs as well.
