If you truely want a Season 2 Percy, his left cylinder has to wobble up and down and his centre lamp iron has to have just a big glue blob.

Just as a small thing, I’d recommend adding some kind of fencing/guard rail to prevent a worst case scenario.
There is/was actually a little fast food joint in my state that has a shelf layout. It was one of, if not THE coolest places I have ever been. Haven't been there in over ten years, so I hope it is still there.
I went the a pizza place that had the same thing. It was a pretty big shelf railway, also a lot of hospitals have shelf railways too.

Very honorable of you to do this memory of your grandfather! I'd like to do a self layout someday, or at least try to. The hanging track makes me think of Bulldog which means someone should make a G Scale Falcon and Duke just because! Most of the G Scale engine's are narrow gauge anyway. And I noticed a shower curtain under the track during Percy's running session. I guess this gives a new meaning to "Dirty Percy."
I wonder if the people of Sodor know their taxes are being used to pay for bi-weekly accidents.

man, I got loads of LGB at my parents house in the attic, this makes me want to set it up somewhere but I live in a tiny terrace house and have no garden or anywhere to run it. I got that little mobile workman's hut as well

A wonderful idea. I hope to make a garden railway of my own in the future. But with the Thomas G Scale trains being harder to find in the UK plus not knowing if my family is planning to move house, makes it hard knowing if I should wait. Don't want to make plans and dig up the garden only to move in the future. Oh well one day...Maybe next year~

This is pretty impressive
You could put a siding above the door where the tracks turn to avoid the curtain. You put a switch above the door and the siding would be up against the wall that continues to the curtain.

i am getting started in G scale and i plan on building a 4-6-0+0-6-4 Garratt in the style of a Union Pacific Locmotive

I have an old Lionel G scale, Thomas and James. never had the lionel G scale scenery that went with them though. Never had a reason to show them off though.

I've always wanted to do something like that with my place but with HO/OO scale trains. I'll have to ask the landlord if I can do that XD

I'm kind of in a situation like you where I have an HO layout and and N Scale layout to run the HO and N collection I've got, but I've been starting to accumulate a small O Gauge collection too. Do you have any suggestions/advice on building a ceiling layout like this? I might want to do something like that so that the O stuff has something to run on.

OMG i have the same train(s) and rolling stock, around xmas time i set up the train around the entire first floor of my home maybe this could be a potential idea for a temp gscale layout?

The salt wagon is a gauge one model so it wouldn't fit on g scale tracks
