    Great review! The Neuma 4 is my go to machine. The steel and solid brass grips are a bit quieter and have less vibration, I recommend one of those.

    Hopefully Carson will produce a dedicated batterypack for it!

    I didn't expect it to be as good a liner as it is. I love it. I need more so I can try it as a shader and packer, since I can't bring myself to switch the lining cam. I got the slim solid Brass and it is fantastic. We're setting up our new Studio TH-cam and Twitch channels and start on machine reviews shortly; can't wait to sing my praises of this machine/company. Which reminds me; customer service was excellent as well.

    Gonna go with the heavier/bigger grip me thinks, as is front, not back heavy.. and saves me hands the daily trauma.. thanks again mate

    This is one of the best machines I have used! It really punches those lines in like no other rotary. And it comes out so crisp and sharp on the edges. The 20% cam is the best for lining. Great machine!

      After this review they sent it back to me which is awesome! So I’ll be doing more testing with it. I really like using it for linework :)

    I have the stainless steel grip and a lighter one. The heaviness of the stainless grip with the brass bearing arm and 20% cam lines really nice. I tried the aluminum arm with the lighter grip and shading cam and it gets super soft. Too soft I thought. Like two completely different machines for sure. Great machine if you’re a person that likes to tinker. Seems like there are endless combinations.
    The other cool thing, is as Carson has made improvements to the cams and such, he just sent the new and better ones to me for free, without even knowing they were available. Two different times cams have just shown up in my mail. Great company.

    I have been using my Neuma 4 for over a year and a half now. I'm an apprentice and find it very customizable and easy to use. It's better than buying a separate machine for packing and a machine for lining, etc. Each cam is essentially a new machine and it is way cheaper than buying a ton of machines. It can literally do anything. It's definitely worth buying and seeing what works for you. It can be frustrating if you don't try the different cams but once you get the best cam for what you do, ie: packing, blending, shading it's a dream machine. I use the brass bearing arm for everything atm. The 3.6mm 20% for lining, whip shading and sometimes color packing small bits too. (I use the 33% 3.6mm for B/G). But the 3.6mm 40% packs solid and fast and is also great for whip shading (and even lining small letterwork pieces easily too). I still need to buy more cams to see what this machine can do. But really this machine is customizable. Although there is a larger learning curve than plug and play brands, It would be hard for me to blame the Neuma for my shortcomings. Great machine, and fantastic bang for your buck!!!

      Only negative thing I can add is I didn't receive an Allen Key with my machine. I also only received one cam (as there was only one cam available at that time). I had to pay a lot of money to buy two cams as I live in South America. So buy all the cams and bearing arms.

      I am an apprentice in a shop that is coil user. I wonder… do you change the cam in a session? Done lining, unpack, sterilize, change cam, bag the machine and keep going?

    Nice review, I’d considered one of those but was put off by having to change the cam profiles but you’ve just shown how simple and fast it is , thanks for showing that .

    I was building my own machines. Then when I saw this. I just gave up. No way am I comming up with anything better. So I just got this instead haha. Stainless shift. Also a nice thing is you can buy a new grip and its a different machine. Make it what you want.

    Thanks Chris - I am looking for another machine. Do you prefer any other machines over this one though.

      Personally. The Flux from FK irons is still my favourite all rounder and my go to machine.
      But depending on what styles or effects etc I have a few favourites. I’ll do a video about it

    this may be a dumb idea but if you get another one maybe you can do a few simple blends on practice skin with the different cams in a row to show a comparison with the duration.

    • @ThatTattooShow
      @ThatTattooShow  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Am totally up for that. I had it sent over Xmas when the studio was closed so literally had it to use on skin for a couple of days.

    Tried it and didn’t get on with it . The voltage I needed to use it on made it way too noisy for me it was to off putting . I found the hard cam too hard then it just went spongier the further down the cams I went . I tried the 3.6 and 4.0 cams . The problem with it for me was each cam seemed to work well with different things , packing , shading , b+g but I found I couldn’t settle on one cam for all . I was constantly changing cams

      Did you start on, use coils in the past?
      as far as one cam doing it all... isn't the point of having multiple cams to be able to adjust for various disciplines?
      serious questions - because i really like coils. it's what i learned on. i have used some rotaries & am mixed about them... but really like the convenience.
      i am hoping maybe this may be the compromise i dream of.

    I have a problem with the grip when using a long taper magnum. it feels like the motor will fall out when I adjust how far the needle comes out. Does anyone have a solution to this?

    • @ThatTattooShow
      @ThatTattooShow  ปีที่แล้ว

      What needles are you using? I’ve not had this problem with the neuma.
