- (Show more for table of contents and jump to links) This rare promo video made during the 1980's is called 'HK Firepower.' Here HK USA showcases the civilian arms that were available at the time. All of the HK Gmbh firearms showcased in this video have ceased to be made or imported into the USA for civilian sales. The rifles/carbines were banned from US importation due to federal legislation in 1989. The video was available for purchasers on VHS tape through HK USA.

Paulo Hendrix there was a terrible mass shooting in Tasmania and the government banned everything semi-automatic and pump actions ect. Just bolt actions and double barrel ,over under shotguns . And also made it VERY difficult to get a firearms licence

G3 was my service rifle in the German army. Never let me down, never had a malfunction. Cold winter (-15°C), hot summer (+32°C), getting wet and crawling through mud. Didn't even matter if I shot FM cartridges or Blanks (with MPG) or blue ammo.
I got a PTR-91 not too long ago and I am falling in love with it, it's a super trooper that never quits and reaches _way_ out for a semi auto. It's certainly an incredible rifle design.
Too bad they replaced it with G36 that has so much reliability issues despite the venerable G3 is proven to be reliable and deadly accurate.
It is really badass gun i used it in every kind of operation

Full auto is impractical as hell in real life, ask any soldier that didn't carry an MG. If all school shooters had their fun switch turned on a lot less people would die in mass shootings.

I attended a lecture at the National Army Museum in London, England. It was about war journalists.1 of the guests was Kate Adie, who was there. The other 2 were Frank Gardener, and some Arab Journalist. ! member of the audience had an HK poster celebrating the anniversary of the Embassy Siege. She signed it for him! It was for a military charity!
I remember,the civilan version G-3 was known as "HK-91".Yeap,this video was filmed during the 1980s,cause i remember adult men 30-45 years of age with that hair cut when i was a young kid.

My father carried a H&K 33 during his assignment in Brazilian Air Force in the 1970's. I carried two models of H&K pistols in police work: a VP-70 Z and a P7 M13.
All are excellent weapons. Maybe the VP-70 Z can be considered a misunderstood weapons. Many people hates its heavy and long trigger, but the concept works very well under combat stress.

It's not about being a pussy, i have a G3A3. Fast follow up shots are near impossible due to the recoil. An AR 10 is superior.

@@ratscoot AR10 does not have less recoil. They're about on par. The G3 is more ergonomic especially with the slimline handguard.
@@hellcatdave1 On a G3 you need a spacer for the butstock because it's too short and the receiver Will hit you on the cheeck. Also you can 't get a decent trigger for a G3. I still find the AR10 has less recoil plus there is the maintenance factor with the G3 where you have to monitor the bolt gap and replace rollers and locking pieces on time.

You’d be surprised how much the bolt gap(funky headspace) specs of .02”-.020” affects recoil from a particular 91 to another.
On the low end recoil becomes insane because it’s barely retarded blowback.
I’m sorry, but not seeing him slap down the charging handle makes me feel uncomfortable.

Lol Hk91’s are known to have harsher recoil as a roller blowback over than most other gas piston and DI guns
In 1984 I bought an HK91 and a Steyr AUG for $750 each in San Francisco. I actually saw this clip somewhere back then, but there wasn't an internet yet so I can't think where I would have seen it. Maybe at the gun store. Still have the HK91, and it's all tricked out and looking sexy (sold the AUG to escape Alaska before winter in 1992). It's no longer as relevant these days, like a heavy SCAR or HK417, but it's such a beautiful rifle.

Yes to the G3 HK91,93,& MP5s / 94, Semi& full autos but no to the P7 series for a lot of reasons and I never enjoyed my M1 super 90 that much, but still they make good firearms and I had fun in my 20s with them all.

In my service time, we were looking of how sturdy the G3 actually is. It ended with one "chopped" down tree and a metal barrier (not a thick one) being well not straight anymore.
Rifle looked like a metal artwork yet still shot.

as soldier in Pakistan Army we used to play with G3. My group always stood not beyond 2.5 inch...from 200 yarda. And firing Mp5 was a treat for accuracy.
My G3 had stoppage's due to the disposable aluminum magazine.But served me well during the Rhodesian Bush War.7.62x51 mm will hurt you.
