Be sure to get the FREE resources in the description above-- but to truly look at Christians & Hanukkah-- Hebrew4Christians has one of the best teachings when rightly understanding what this is, what it means, and how Born Again Believers should look at these special times.
(This is NOT a resource of Torah Observance/being Law bound/requirements-- just so you know. It is a truth look from a Messianic Jew that is far more studied that I could ever wish to be- on many topics! ;) Enjoy!)

I celebrated Hanukkah once when I was younger. I had a Jewish teacher who introduce me to it. She made the food and brought in the candles and even gave me,a what we called in Spanish “trompos” it was lovely. I’ll never forget it or her, she introduce me to the love of the arts as well.

This was so beautiful to watch it's so nice to see families take part in celebrations that are focused on jesus and not have a worldly aspect, and all to the glory of God, I could see you all had such a great time ❤

Thank you so much for providing these resources ❤ I felt so unprepared for Hanukkah as it is our first time celebrating 🎉 I know it will probably take some time to get our family traditions but this was very helpful.

I love how you decorate❤️The thing that I’ve learned.. at least my own opinion..is that it doesn’t take much money to make things cozy or nice and festive. I used to think i needed to use so much money to buy the nicest decor etc.. which led to overspending and anxiety. Then praise God, he showed me that it’s actually not necessary to make a home warm and inviting or a table scape beautiful. Well done sister, I love hearing your thoughts and seeing how you wisely steward what the Lord has given you, much love ❤️

I posted this comment in another video that was older with your kids talking about not celebrating Christmas but thought this was still applicable to this video. This is just an observation but if you just had a family meal similar to what you do with Hanukkah for Christmas I am sure your sweet kiddos would love that as well. That is what many do. They celebrate a Christ centered way without Santa and focusing on Christ. To me it appears that in your kids minds you switched Christmas for Hanukkah. Sounds like you are celebrating similarly with decorations and food and all so I am just puzzled how that is different? I myself have had a hard time with the commercial side of Christmas. I have felt similarly to in some of your thoughts so I have always tried to point to Christ in our family celebrations. I have come to the conclusion that many peoples hearts are more open this time of year and it gives a lot of opportunity to help people turn towards Christ. It is sad that many don’t celebrate Christ everyday but this season when their hearts are open I find it interesting that instead of embracing the goodness and light you could give you are essentially putting walls up and closing yourself and family off. I know the Bible doesn’t give an exact date but it still happened. It was a miraculous birth that had much more meaning to us as Christians than Hanukkah. I know my opinion is just that. If this is working for you and your family it doesn’t matter what anyone of us thinks but you are choosing to put your opinion out there and I hope my opinion has not come across the wrong way. I am still just trying to understand your thinking behind it because of how much it appears that you just switched celebrations. Your kids look to Hanukkah as many of other kids look to Christmas, with excitement and joy and to me there is nothing wrong with that.

It’s very much the same style of celebration that we do at least once a month. Our why’s are different… but our gatherings are pretty simple across the board. 💕

I’m glad you’re happy with your decisions. If you feel convicted to follow the Feasts then that’s what you should do. I didn’t watch the entire video, because I’ve watched so many of them, however I would like to give you one warning. The Scriptures does not require everyone to keep the Feasts nor follow the food laws. I know a lot of Christians who do and I’m OK with it. However, telling people they are required to do so is extra biblical, ie
In Romans 2 Paul tells us that the Law was not given to Gentiles.
In 2 Colossians Paul tells us not to let anyone compel us to keep the Law including feasts, holy days or food.
In James 2 he tells us that if you break one Law then you have broken the entire Law. If one says I must keep the Feasts and the food laws, do you keep the other 600 or so? If not then that person is just as guilty as I for not keeping the Feasts and food laws.
And, please don’t tell me I’m taking the above passages out of context. I’m not. It is true that the Apostles did not celebrate Christmas or Easter, didn’t wear wedding rings, celebrate birthdays, and a whole slew of other things. It is also true they didn’t drive cars, live in big houses, didn’t have electricity, didn’t wear pants, watch TH-cam or have a Bible that included the New Testament.

    Please read!!!
    1 Corinthians 10:31
31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
Heidi, you said it yourself. There's nothing wrong with getting together and having a festive time and gathering and fun, not to be over the top and crazy. Theres no rules or list we have to follow, is simply a time of coming together in a dark time of year and remember what truly means to be the light and know who our God shepherd is and to live for the Lord." And you also said we just love to have ANY opportunity to remember that and to gather together and celebrate that and that's what you do for Hanukkah.
So my big question is? Why is not okay for us to take this opportunity of Christmas to gather together in a simple way, to bring the light to others, share the gospel and worship Jesus. For us Christians is very important to share the gospel all year around and be the light all year around, specially in the holidays, we need to bring their focus from the easter bunny to Jesus, the turkey to Jesus, santa to Jesus. Jesus is the way the truth and the life no one goes to the father but through him.
You are a Christian that celebrates Hanukkah and you follow the jews traditions, the have more things on their list they do for this holiday, the candles, the fry foid, giving gelt gold coin chocolates, playing dreidel games and thats an specific game, not just a board game, giving gifts, eating donuts. Wow!! I dont see them worshiping Jesus or trying to bring Jesus to others. My kids' school does not want them to talk about God or Jesus, they told me yhat and asked for my children to stop during Christmas, they told Christmas is about Santa and the gifts he brings. But they are okay celebrating Hanukkah, next week they are having a Hanukkah celebration at their school. They don't relate Hanukkah with Jesus and they told me that. You can say yes I honor Jesus in Hanukkah and remember him on this holiday, but the rest of the jews in world or nonbelivers do not consider Hanukkah is for Jesus. Christmas for many Christians is considered the coming of Jesus to this world, Joy to the world the Lord has come, let Earth receive their King.
I respect and appreciate the true story behind Hanukkah, but Hanukkah for the majority of the jews sadly is not to glorify or honor Jesus. I pray that they come to the truth saving knowledge that Jesus is the Lord.
You have definitely convinced me that Christmas should be a time to bring the light of Jesus to this sinful world and every day is the the Lord's day.
Please stop trying to convince others that Hanukkah is for Jesus, because that night, they were not for him and wanted to kill him. They were testing him, like they always did to find an excuse to kil him. Just because is in the boble does not mean that day it was a pleasant experience for Jesus and he justified it.
We read more about Jesus going to the synagogues and the mountains to teach, time after time. People actually listened, received his word, they believed and many were saved . In the same chaper of Jhon tells you that.
He told His followers that they themselves were the “light of the world” and should not be hidden away but to be like a lamp stand and “let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5).
Do you think those people that celebrated Hanukkah that day Jesus was present, were bringing glory to God by trying to kill Jesus? Unfortunately that was not the case. Therefore they were not his followers, so they're light did not shine because of the evil thoughts they had in their heart.
The scriptures tells us plainly, he was just walking around and the jews who were there gather around him again, to ask him to tell tjem plainly if he is the Messiah or not? But he told them I "did" tell tell you do "not believe" and why is that?? He says because you are not "my sheep" he told them " you do not believe because you are not my sheep. 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all[b]; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”
Does people at the Hanukkah festival were not his sheep.
31 Again his Jewish opponents picked up stones to stone him, 32 but Jesus said to them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?”
33 “We are not stoning you for any good work,” they replied, “but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.”
The Festival of Dedication was a further conflic over Jesus claims, not a holy day moment he wanted to be part of because they believe, honor or worship Jesus. They were his opponent because they did not ever believe that he was God and they did not want to believe and therefore that is why Jesus called them you are not my sheep because he knew they were never going to be his sheep and therefore they will perish.
    Further Conflict Over Jesus’ Claims
22 Then came the Festival of Dedication[b] at Jerusalem. It was winter, 23 and Jesus was in the temple courts walking in Solomon’s Colonnade. 24 The Jews who were there gathered around him, saying, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.”
25 Jesus answered, “I did tell you, but you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify about me, 26 but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all[c]; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”
34 Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I have said you are “gods”’[d]? 35 If he called them ‘gods,’ to whom the word of God came-and Scripture cannot be set aside- 36 what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, ‘I am God’s Son’? 37 Do not believe me unless I do the works of my Father. 38 But if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.” 39 Again they tried to seize him, but he escaped their grasp.
40 Then Jesus went back across the Jordan to the place where John had been baptizing in the early days. There he stayed, 41 and many people came to him. They said, “Though John never performed a sign, all that John said about this man was true.” 42 And in that place many believed in Jesus

@HeavenlyMindedHome Thank you for replying back. Hanukkah in english means dedication. Let's all live like daughters and sons and who are truly dedicated to the Lord, in every situation and knowing what our purpose is. God has created good works for us to work in. Let's dedicate our spirit, soul, and body fully to him.
I'm not judging you for practicing Hanukkah, just like you are not judging people who choose to celebrate Christmas. I just have been wanting to understand the reason why you feel Christmas could not be a good time to give honor to God and worship him on Christmas. In my understanding, you feel like you will glorify the Lord better by celebrating Hanukkah. Therefore that's what you feel it works for you. I understand.
Personally, I'm thankful I was given to the Lord by Abba our Father, I am thankful the Lord called me and that I heard his voice. He fulfilled everything, and all I need is to walk with the Lord daily and his ways and to love others. I have dedicated my life to Him and I feel you have as well. There's no doubt about it.
I'm not against the feast of dedication ( Hanukkah) at all or Christmas when we dedicate it to the Lord, and we leave all the man made traditions aside.
The scriptures give us a great example of how to simply worship our Lord and he is pleased. We won't be doing none of those celebrations that are here on earth, in God's kingdom. That's something to remember.
      Revelation 4:8
And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they never cease to say, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!”
      Revelation 1:8
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
I stand for the Jews and I'm constantly praying for them and for anyone that doesn't know Christ Jesus. I'm not a legalist at all, and I want all of us to be ready for the Lord. I love others, and I'm very compassionate. Praise God, all the glory to the Lord. Amen.🙏
Romans 14:13 - Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister.

Please research the nine candle hanukkia… it is no where in the Scriptures, nor is it in the book of Maccabees. It is a man-made tradition, and we were told to be aware of fables. Be careful when leaving one man-made tradition to not hop in to other man-made traditions and for those of you wanting to quote John 10 may I suggest that you read that whole chapter and read it closely no where does it say our Messiah, celebrated it, or justified it…. we were told not to add, nor take away from his Torah.. myself included…. Why can we not be happy and satisfied with what we were given in with what he told us to do to honor him?😢 by the way I’m not saying all traditions are bad, but we must look and dig into where we get those traditions…. Many Judaism traditions are also based in Sun God worship. My opinions based on my research.
May the father bless us, as we all search out his ancient path and may we all look forward to that day that Messiah comes and sets everything straight, but until then maybe err on the side of caution and hold the Torah close❤

@@LoveNow907 he may have foretold the Maccabean revolt, but not the celebration of Hanukkah, which brings in the celebration of light, and we were told not to take on the Ways and celebrations of the nations. He gave us the days he wanted us to do to honor him…as for me and my family we do our best not to stray from that…. Also, a Maccabees they celebrate the feast of Sukkot because they missed that fall feast… when messiah showed up at the temple on the feast of dedication he was simply reminding them of the same thing he reminded them of during Sukkot… he did not hang around and party. At least I don’t pick that up from the text.
People will try to say things like wedding rings are pagan, but I’m not wearing my wedding ring to honor the father. I’m simply wearing my wedding ring so other people know that I am married.
As far as birthday goes, I am of the opinion that is hit and miss. We do not do anything crazy for our children, but we do acknowledge their age and that was the day that the father decided to introduce them to us because he already knew them before they were in my womb. We usually let them pick their favorite meal and desert 🥰
Many sources state that a form of Hanukkah was already being celebrated because it was during the solstice, before the Maccabean revolt …. Just like Christmas we’ve made it about Jesus.🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️
Btw thank you for just making this discussion and not jumping down my throat for having a disagreement. It is so sad to see that in a body of believers for the most part have the same goal we all want to live in the eternal kingdom with father and son.🥰 (who are going to correct this all )

I don't know why as proclaimed Christian you throw out Christian holidays to celebrate Jewish holidays. You are not Jewish yet you act like you are. The Jews are a chosen people by God . We as Christians were grafted in but where never told to celebrate the Jewish holy days. By celebrating these you are making it legalistic. You do it for show and not the true understanding of those Jewish holidays. Christmas is celebrated by Christians because the birth of our Lord regardless of when. The Bible talk at length of Mary and Joseph and the angels that came to them and the struggles they had. The fact that Jesus had come to earth is a celebration indeed not to be dismissed. Do you also not celebrate Easter? I feel you have not humbled yourself enough to look into the truth. Sometimes when I watch your videos you seem holier than thow. I hope this is understandable to you because sometimes when people can only write comments it seems to be coming out a different way than what I really want it to.

Leviticus 23 they are not Jewish holidays. They are set apart days for the father. They are his days and they are meant for anybody who wants to be part of his kingdom as they will be celebrated into eternity…. Seriously look at your scriptures they are not referred to as Jewish holidays but his feast days. And Hanukkah is not in that list again Leviticus 23…. And there’s many other places in scripture that talks of these days as well, Old Testament, and New Testament. The father measures with equal weights. He does not give one set of rules to one group of people and a different set of rules to a different group of people…. I say this out of love, have a blast open your Bible, and again there is so much there, that we are not being taught by our main stream churches…. pray the father blesses you as he continues to bless me as I search out the Scriptures for ALL His truth 🥰🥰

Not at all, I’m a nobody. Nothing special, just enjoy sharing and encouraging in any way the Lord might use. But the feast days aren’t Jewish holidays- in many ways the traditional Jewish celebrations we see today are quite far from the Biblical descriptions. The end of Zechariah shows us how important these will continue to be. The seven feasts all point to Jesus and are fulfilled by Jesus- what could be more Christian than that?! 🙌🏼📖💕
