    I don’t really have the problem that you’re describing with migrating. Although I usually skip the inbox and go straight to project/next actions lists. The only time I hit the inbox is if I’m doing a brain dump. I basically bullet journal. I have a monthly project list, waiting for, and then next actions by context (a spread put into 8 sections). The only time I need to migrate is once a month, which is helpful because I can use that time to filter whether something should actually stay on my lists or not. It takes me about 1/2 an hour once a month. I work full time, am expecting baby 4 any day... love GTD because things *generally* don’t fall through the cracks.

      Ooo love that idea to only use the inbox for the braindump!! Thanks so much for sharing! And totally agree how GTD really helps to capture everything so that nothing falls through the cracks (generally) haha. Thanks for watching and sharing!!! ❤️

    This looks very functional. It's your whole month at a glance basically . I never understood the weekly or monthly review . I mean I know why ppl do it but it's another thing to do lol so I just move my un finished tasks weekly . By end of month if it's not done it gets tossed out or put on my some day list .

    • @MomYePlans
      @MomYePlans  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Totally! The review feels super redundant!! Thanks so much for watching! ❤️

    Totally agree on people taking notes on computers in meetings, I always wonder what they are really doing!!!!
    On GTD, which I have also been using on paper for years, I actually don't really use an inbox page any more, I have next actions and waiting for pages in the front of my notebook and I just put them on the right page. If it is something that needs to go somewhere else I just put it in next actions or a note on my inbox dashboard that I move to the calendar or wherever later. Not full on traditional GTD, but works for me and saves re-writing also

    • @MomYePlans
      @MomYePlans  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yesss thats also a great idea! I've been finding that I primarily use the next actions and waiting on as well! Only time I'll go to a full inbox is if I just want to brain dump EVERYTHING from my head and figure out what to do with it later haha. THanks so much for watching!

      I'm a little blunt/headstrong so I might gently but firmly assert that I'm using tech for important stuff, maybe just announce before a meeting. I once did that for an interview, said that my I would be using my phone for notes.

    I am assuming that you retain the other sections (Projects/Goals, Project Plans/Notes, Reference/Misc Info, somewhere else in the notebook? Context for my question (if needed): I'm familiar with GTD and the different partitions that Allen recommends -- what I'm getting from your video is this -- you have your items that come into your 'in box' and you categorize them using the check columns on the left side (calendar, next actions, someday maybe etc) and then you also assign them to a context using the check columns on the right (work, home, etc etc, and 'Agendas'?).

    • @MomYePlans
      @MomYePlans  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that’s right! Now that I’m pretty familiar with the system I keep my projects, ref etc all that stuff separately on notion! I just find it easier to access!

    Interesting adaptation. I admire anyone having the discipline to use paper to do GTD. I just can't handle the constant writing and rewriting things. Typing something once and then being able to use/edit/reassign/link that item with a couple of clicks is just so much better for me personally. I use Microsoft To Do on my iPhone for doing things on the go and it syncs to the app on laptop. If I'm in a meeting and need to capture things, I'd either agree that someone will take notes/actions, or that we'll record/use transcript feature in MS Teams to capture the meeting. It's also great to use the voice recognition to capture an idea/action item in the app just by speaking (for example after I leave a meeting and need to capture a thought as I walk away, I just speak quietly into my phone and it's there). I just couldn't go back to paper for anything other than an emergency, or my GTD system would end up falling behind. I know not everyone uses Microsoft type applications of course, so some things I'm saying won't work for many.

      I totally understand what you mean! I always want to go digital but then something about having things open on my desk and visible really helps me sigh! One day I do hope to go fully digital as well! Thanks for sharing!

    • @swasthik1796
      @swasthik1796 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      we prefer digital only for searchable, other than this option, only manual journaling only give productivity not definitely digital. i am using both, whenever i go with digital, at end of the day definitely mess up when compare with digital.

    For me, using Obsidian and Task View plugin is where I'm at. I'm not going to be so naive as to say that it's the ultimate solution (even for me), but it sure saves a lot of this repeating, and I can see stuff by context easily.

  • @MTSchmidt

    Thanks for this. I just easily replicated the functionality here in Google Tasks. Much simpler than the Notion/Todoist/Obsidian bowl of spaghetti I was using before. And thanks for providing the evolution as well, that gave good context to the final product

    Migrating tasks is not a part of GTD. Migrating only becomes a part of GTD when people complicate the system.
