I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song!!! Bravo, Ryan Adams - everything you do is pure MAGIC!! Your music heals heads, hearts and souls. Will love your artistry forever!! You are aces!!
You probably dont care but if you're bored like me during the covid times you can watch pretty much all the new series on instaflixxer. Have been watching with my brother for the last days =)
This is the Ryan at his best. Best version of "Invisible Riverside" I ever heard. No question about it. It's too bad this show is known more for the feuding between Ryan and Neil Finn & Janis Ian.
This is a real atmosphere inducing timeless song. Some shades of the old classic Neil Young I think at times.I'd heard of this guy before but thanks to this & some of his other stuff you've been kind enough to post here, I'll be keeping an eye on him.
I was a little confused when I heard about that spat...I thought the idea here was for each musician to play a song in turn, and the others to chuck in a bit of backup guitar or vocals whereever it worked...and all three should be honered when the others play with them.
Dude is a good song writer, good singer, good playing while singing. Its very basic stuff without much innovation but most people aren't looking for innovative song writers anyway.
Jesus Christ, Ryan, grow up and realize how good you've got it. I'm a huge fan of both Neil and Ryan but seeing or hearing about them throwing tantrums over things like this just irk me. How long has it been since either of them actually had a real issue to whine about? I'm pretty sure they both are making the mortgage payments and have reliable transportation.
Aren't geniuses generally a mess? All they care about is the thing they are creating. That's why we don't want to know the back story (how he was rude to Finn and Janis)
No disrespect to Neil Finn, but he clearly almost screwed the song up several times. I have to give kudos to Ryan for staying focused and pulling it off.
As much as I love Ryan's music, the dude really needs to stop with the diva nonsense. If he did not want to participate with the other two, then he should have politely declined the invite to be on the show. It's not hard to be nice, Ryan. You are sitting next to two amazing songwriters who deserved the respect they were trying to give to you. How rude of you to pack it up while they were finishing the set.
Who knows what actually happened amongst this crowd, but there were alot of bum notes coming thru on this particular song,i've seen ryan play live regularly, whether here or in the flesh an he doesn't do bum notes! I think the other 2 wanted to throw in a few tasty bits here an there and nearly derailed the tune in parts! Not kool, either way...dont give your ball away next time ryan...
I find the interest in the controversy strange tbh. Even people who were in the audience don't know the whole story about what went on. News flash, everyone of us has an ego and musicians have the biggest of all. Brilliant songwriters are troubled people. I'm sure if Ryan Adams was super nice it would reflect into some pretty bland music
I think that's the idea, but they kinda fucked this song up and nearly ruined it, in Ryan's opinion. You definitely hear some bum notes though and things that don't quite work.

You said it!! His voice, incredible guitar playing and sheer talent! His music calms me and provides joy.
Thanks for this!
This is heaven for your ears.
Beautiful doesn't even describe it. Deeply moving. He's a musical genius. Thank you Ryan.

@Layne Keagan Yea, been watching on instaflixxer for years myself =)
Best singer/songwriter going, there is just him.
Lawrence Frauens And with the release of his latest album - Prisoner - RA's greatness continues.

Ahhhh.... good memories. I was there that night at the recording. No love lost between Ryan and Neil Finn, that's for sure!!!!
Beautiful version of Ryan Adams singing "Invisible Riverside"
On that day, I became 30 years old. It was a nice day.
Brilliant song by Ryan, and great to see Neil Finn!
Beautiful voice.
That Buck Owens guitar is going to be worth a fortune some day. :)
HOLY SHIT!!! It's an acoustic performance guys. It's not supposed to sound like it was recorded for hours in a studio.
Top notch!
Great song! Gotta love the wonderboy, Ryan Adams.

Lovely
Arstistic conflists aside, I can't think of a live song that comes close to how perfect this performance is. My God!

listen to it with head phones. you can hear the mess ups. i mean i guess its not a huge deal but its noticeable.

Am I missing something here, did something happen after the song that the clip doesn't show??
Who's that unlike ?? Bierber again !! *-*

CookieCrumbles Great Point.
someone try to pull the chords from my hands,a visual oz!!!
i dont know :S
The guys a bona fide genius in my book but he needs to chill out....

Hm it sounds fantastic to me, but maybe my ears just don't pick up on that stuff haha
Neil did nothing wrong. Now, the sound engineer. on the other hand, should be written up.
Not bad for no rehearsal.

I didn't think Neil was playing too loud at all. What is Ryan's problem?

ryan adams is an amazing performer (which makes his average songs sound good). but he'll never be a writer like finn
I couldn't disagree more. Neil Finn is a fine songwriter but Ryan Adams is sublime both as a songwriter and as a performer.
