- Tim challenges us to submit our favourite 25 films of the 70s. A tough ask for a person of my age. The 70s was one of the best decades for film so choosing 25 was hard. I urge the younger film buffs to explore this decade of film. You won't be disappointed!
See the link below for Tim's challenge rules:
• IT HAS STARTED: Top 25...

Great list, Jamie as well as all the honourable mentions. Made me smile to see The Wild Geese included, fun movie. Such a great decade
Thanks Neil, I had to include Wild Geese. It was a film I've always been fond of since an early age.
The Jerk is fantastic and surprisingly quotable.
Absolutely! Thanks for watching.
I heard about 5 or 6 of your honourable mentions which are in my top list, but mine comes straight from the top 70's which are in my list of favourite 200 films. An ever-changing list, the sort of frustrating list which it's not possible to get exactly right.
I agree with that 100%! Any of my honourable mentions could get into my Top 25 on other day.
Great list from you. As usual there are a few unusual choices in my personal tops. My favourite 25 are:
25 The Horror of Frankenstein (1970)
24 The Omen 1976)
23 Get Carter (1971)
22 Family Plot (1976)
21 Chinatown (1974)
20 The Inglorious Bastards (1978)
19 Airport (1970)
18 The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)
17 Moonraker (1979)
16 Foul Play (1978)
15 Carry On At Your Convenience (1971)
14 Bless This House (1972)
13 Scars Of Dracula (1970)
12 High Anxiety (1977)
11 Any Which Way But Loose (1978)
10 Jaws (1975)
9 The Gauntlet (1977)
8 Dracula: AD 1972 (1972)
7 What's Up Doc? (1972)
6 The Towering Inferno (1974)
5 Frenzy (1972)
4 Carry On Abroad (1972)
3 Dirty Harry (1971)
2 Damien: Omen 2 (1978)
1 Halloween (1978)
I just noticed there weren't any from 73 on my list, my favourite is another unusual choice, The Satanic Rites Of Dracula, the final time that Christopher Lee wore the fangs for a Hammer film.
Wow! That's an eclectic list 👍. I'll make sure @timtalkstalkies includes your list in the counting. I wasn't that keen on Omen 2. I actually preferred the 3rd film.
Thank you!
Flesh For Frankenstein and Blood For Dracula makes my top 25.
The ‘crushing the cup’ scene in Jaws is great. You mentioned most of my favourites in your honourable mentions. I still need to see Harold & Maude.
The crushing cup scene 👍👍👍👍 agreed
Just thinking of doing a top 70 s list would make my head explode 🤯🥵😄 i wouldn't know where to start 😧 suspiria is mind-blowing 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 the man who would be king not seen or own it 💿, love close encounters one of Spielberg's best imo 👌🏻 love Papillon 👍 body snatchers is awesome 👍🏻 carnt remember a time when i didn't like starwars 👌🏻 i was 7 in 1977 so it was made for kids of my age , ooooo yes Jaws is my favourite film of all time my god its a masterpiece the 3 leads on the boat just fantastic 😍 🦈
Thanks Stuart, you seem to like my list 😉
Yeah, i've only seen Papillon once, about 20 years ago, but i did really like it. If i had seen it more recently it would probably have made my list.
GREAT List ... Thanks Again !!!!
Sorry it's taken me so long to review your list. A lot of excellent choices! We have some in common, like Harold and Maude, Deliverance, Close Encounters, Alien, and Invasion of the Body Snatchers. I could have names Suspiria or Midnight Express on my list as well. You had a good honorable mentions list, including Quadrophenia and Chinatown, both of which were on my top 25. This was such an incredible decade for films, but for some reason, it didn't take me very long to come up with a list. it was much harder for the 80s and 90s. Paper Moon is a film I only saw once, a few years ago, and I need to give it a second watch. I had mixed feelings about it. A few days ago, I watched Westworld for the first time and it blew me away. An incredible film, and I can't believe it took me all these years to finally see it.
Ah, Westworld is great isn't it. The 70s was such a great era for film, I can't get my head around why some people can't come up with a Top 25 when there were so many great movies
That's an epic list Mark. My top 25 would pull from both your honourable mentions and the top 25.
Some of these "Great" 70s films like The Exorcist don't do anything for me. I think it's because I only saw it for the first 8-10 years ago.
The Omen is far better in my opinion.
Can't believe The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was only an honourable mention 😆
Trevor
Chainsaw Massacre would ordinarily get in my list but I had to include films such as The Wild Geese and The Man Who Would Be King because I grew up with those and have always been favourites of mine. They also need some exposure because they don't get talked about enough. I think most people will be putting Chainsaw Massacre in their lists so it won't go unheralded. Thanks for commenting and watching.

Nice list Luis, some great films there.
@@MuckMan_Movies i forgot taxi driver !!! 37 films in My list
If I owned Paper Moon it would have made my top 20. Very good list.
It's a great film. Can't believe its a film I didn't see until quite recently. You should have put it in even if you don't own it
@@MuckMan_Movies For the most part my videos are music related and I always show physical media. So I did the same for my best 1970’s films. I will most likely do an 80’s video.
Terrific list. man 70s had some Awesome films
Indeed! I'd put the 70s in the top 3 decades of cinema. Without a doubt.
