Great top 20. 2024 was a great year for a variety of genres.
@@MoviesWithRyon thanks Ryon. It most certainly was. There was so much great animation that wasn't Pixar or Disney. Which was refreshing.
I will have to pick some of these up. Cuckoo seems and interesting one
@@davidmckee2898 it's best going into Cuckoo and Strange Darling knowing absolutely nothing so you get the most enjoyment out of them.
Great video, I was so pleased to see how you enjoyed Strange Darling, I just fell in love with the film. The Substance and Heretic were both outstanding too. Always enjoy seeing the films you have highly rated.
Thanks Ian. Hopefully you might put some of these on your watch list.
Good list. There's only 2 I haven't seen. The bodybuilder from Love Lies Bleeding plays an interesting character in The Mandalorian too. My only disagreement is Civil War. The logic of it is so bad for me that I can't turn off my brain enough to enjoy it. He makes beautiful movies that are kinda nonsensical to me. I didn't like Men either.
Great list Jamie 😀🍿🎸🎶 I thought ‘Mary & Max’ was excellent; so I definitely be checking out ‘Memoir Of A Snail’ 🐌 I thought ‘Heretic’ was awesome; Hugh Grant puts in 110% to his lead performance 🤩 I think ‘Girl With The Needle’ is coming out soon; so I be going to see that shortly 👍 ‘The Substance’ is absolutely fantastic mate; that came at No.2 on my Top 10 films of 2024 list aswell; can’t wait to add it to my MUBI Blu-Ray collection 👌 ‘The Holdovers’ was excellent too 😊
@@samglendenning9884 Cheers Sammy. Can't remember if I've watched your top 10 of 2024 so I'll give it a watch later. Thanks for watching.
@@MuckMan_Movies thanks so much Jamie and no rush at all buddy; you got awesome taste in Movies 😀🍿🎸🎶
Good stuff, Jamie and interesting to see your tattoos a little more. The Girl with the Needle and Flow are two that I haven’t seen released here yet. Cuckoo is one I need to retry as I started it but just wasn’t getting into it
@@neilsmoviechannel3199 I think The Girl With The Needle will be right up your street.
Very generic list, nothing special except “The Thing” which is a solid horror movie. All the rest are average or below.
@@ethos79 'in your opinion'
My top 5: 1) Audition 2) Psycho 3) The Witch 4) Don’t Look Now 5) The Lighthouse
@@RohitMitra-fy8ug Eggers fan I see. I personally don't consider The Lighthouse as a horror. But I love it. Audition on the other hand is excruciating in the final act. Thanks for watching.

@@davidmckee2898 no, it's on the outskirts in Headingley. Definitely worth a visit.
Hi Sir !!! Bravo for going to Madeira, let me know your thoughts ? My folks & family are from the island even though i was born in the UK, been there many times & i hope the locals treated you well & you enjoyed the sights & got to try the Portuguese styled Madeirian food & drink ! "Night Hawks" very underrated cop thriller, love Rutger Hauer, try "Wanted dead or alive" or "Split second" if not seen or own, or even "Blind Fury" which is a lot of fun. Fine update of titles Sir.
@@eastwood4lifefan334 we love Madeira, it's our 3rd time visiting there. I'd love to try and retire there when the time comes but the property prices are insane! I've seen all the Hauer films mentioned. Wasn't keen on Wanted Dead or Alive but I like the others you mention. Thanks for the comments, have a great New Year.
Hi there Sir, I did sub to your channel after your excellent western video that you put together, & you have a great taste in movies 👍, i don"t get a whole lot from the Criterion label but what i do get tends to be from the American line as there"s a lot more in their catalogue obviously. Classic western the original "3.10 to Yuma" one of my fav James Cagney movies from his career for me "The Roaring Twenties" fine release for "Pat Garrett & Billy the kid" finally on blu ray & 4K one of my fav releases of 2024. I really enjoyed "Smile" on the big screen but not seen the sequel, plenty of great titles in this update.
@@eastwood4lifefan334 thank you for watching. I'm really looking forward to seeing the original 3:10 to Yuma as I really enjoyed the remake. Pat Garrett is a downright classic so the upgrade was a must!
I booked to go to Madeira when covid struck 2020 so never did go mate, nice pickups mate 👍🏻 have a great 2025

Some great pickups, and im so glad you picked up warlock. A fave of mine from way back and the jerry goldsmith score is very underrated. It's true 2 and 3 get worse but a fun watch if not essential. Here's to 2025. Excelsior
@@delboy3k1 cheers Delboy. Hope 2025 is kinder to you and your mum.
Love The Fearless Vampire Killers, i always think of it as a Hammer horror spoof, i have it next to my Hammer films. Night Hawks is fantastic mate, its probably in my top 5 Stallone films. Warlock is a trilogy i keep looking at, seen the first two and the second one is good, i think part 3 had a different actor playing the Warlock and it wasn't as good.
@@bushmanblu426 yeah, I don't hold out much hope for the Warlock sequels but happy to own the original. Agreed about FVK, it's a great spoof. Thanks for watching and have a great New Year.
Great video Jamie, some really great pickups, thank you for the shoutout. Strange Darling is one of my favourite films of the year. I've watched it a few times and I love it and just reviewed it on my channel. I must get Alien Romulus, I've not seen it, but im sure I will enjoy it. Alien is one of my all time favourite films. I hope at sometime to try and get into town to CEX.
@@ian23doc thanks Ian. Won't be able to attend your New Year's Day live chat. I'm going to see Robert Egger's Nosferatu that evening
@MuckMan_Movies That's going to be a big film of the year, I'm sure you will enjoy it. Will be interested to know your views on it. 👍
Seen the first 4 entries in the 'Monsterverse' franchise - Kong: Skull Island is my favourite. Heard mixed reviews of New Empire - but definitely a nice looking steelbook you have there👌Not seen that version of Sobibor; but i do have the DVD of the 2018 remake. From what i remember it's quite a harrowing concentration camp story. Also have a double DVD of the 2 Alligator films - good, cheesy fun. All the best for 2025 Jamie.👍
@@tonyyork46 Kong Skull Island is fantastic. I was blown away by it at the time. New Empire is nowhere as good but there are still some moments of it that are very entertaining. Thanks for watching Tony, have a great New Year!
I must say I watch the King Kong and Godzilla movie on Sky the other day. And I absolutely hated it. But it's nice to have you back👍

How on Earth do you have The Frankenstein Monster beating out Martyrs is beyond me! I get it though. You are basing the ranking on how the movies effected you as a child.

Hi Sir, I found this video & channel through being a huge western fan, great work on your top 25 listing as it’s never easy. Refreshing in seeing a movie fan talking movies in the community 😎👍,I can’t argue with your top 2 Sergio Leone classics as those movies I love to pieces, surprised in not seeing any John Wayne movies in the list. Welcome to the community & keeping talking movies Sir. Great informative work 😎👍
@@eastwood4lifefan334 Hi, thanks for watching. Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of John Wayne tbh. I find him to be a bit wooden and he practically plays the same character in every movie he stars in. That being said I do need to watch some of the classics he's appeared in.
Think you'll enjoy Repulsion Jamie; i certainly did. I'm a fan of Catherine Deneuve; have around 20 of her filmography - bit tricky sometimes, as not all releases have English subtitles.
