Thanks, Bryndis! I'm so happy to hear that your reading is going so well this month so far. I'll be checking your channel to see what you've been reading! :)
I don't think I could handle listening to The Last Plane in the Sky, especially since it has some original voices. It was such a huge event and I remember it so well. I wasn't working that day, so I watched much of it unfold live that morning on TV. I don't want to relive it even though it was so long ago. But I'm glad the book was impactful for you.
Hi Laurie! Yes, I hear you. It's a very emotional book. I think I was able to read it because it was so over my head when it initially happened. I'm sure many people would not want to be "that close" to the story and have to relive it all over again. I'm glad it gave so many of those people who contributed their interviews a chance to share their thoughts and stories of that day and hopefully find some healing in it all. Thank you so much for watching. :)
Idealism only knows the purest love; and that is what entered my mind when you talked about Heartstopper. And I admire that more than anything, and that is what I aspire toward. To reclaim the child, to reclaim innocence and purity. Always for the good of humanity. Geeze, I sound ridiculous. Haha. Enjoyed the video.
@@bookstalgicIt's definitely not my kind of book, lol. But it does make me think of my first love. My first love was actually pretty recent when I was 24, and she lived on the other side of the world in the Philippines. To keep it short and not too sentimental: she wanted me to be more about her and our future and less about my ideas, but I couldn't do it. She's better than me in every way. But the cross I bear is a lonely one - and so I devote myself fully to it. There is only the ideal.
Thanks Dave! I'm honestly surprised more people haven't talked about that one. The only time I have ever heard it mentioned was by someone on Goodreads who raved about the audio - she was right! :)
Thanks Julie! My daughter and I also watch the Heartstopper show and we love it too! It definitely captures the whimsical nature of the books so well. :) Happy weekend to you too!
Thanks, Kat! Two months of great reading in a row, I lucked out! February is definitely going much slower, haha. Looking foward to your wrap up for the end of the month! :)
Wow! So many good reads- thank you for several new books to add to my TBR. Heartstopper does qualify as banned if you were wondering. You do such a calm lovely review of books!
Thanks, Heather! I really appreciate your kind words! Yeah, I figured it was banned. Such a shame as it actually shows a sweet relationship and wonderful supportive friends. Ah well, the least I can do is keep reading them and talking about them :D
Wonderful wrap up, Farrah! 📚 I probably have mentioned to you that I tend to rate books high. I think it’s because I choose my books wisely for the most part. I’ve wanted to read I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings for a long time, but I need to be in the right frame of mind to read it.
Thanks, Kat! I remember you saying you rate generously as well and I think you're right..as we get to know our reading tastes, it's easier to pick good ones :D Oh yes, Caged Bird Sings is definitely an emotional book! I hope you enjoy it if you end up picking it up. :)
Thanks, Ven! I can't wait to get back to the other 3 in the series, too. March will definitely be a good month for reading and I hope you enjoy them. I always enjoy your thoughts when you do your reviews so looking forward to that! :)
cool books this month im very interested in the midwife book and definitely frothing for the 911 book i loved your passion at the writing in the 911 book, you sold 100% something that was already high 90s
Thanks Groz! The Only Plane in the Sky was so good. He did such a great job with that. That audio had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I gave the physical book to my mom and she's enjoying it that way too. It was amazing to see the goodness of people come out to each other while this was happening. Thank you for watching! :)
Every time I hear the Plaza Hotel, I think of Eloise at Christmas lol ( I am such a kid haha ) I have the box set for Heartstopper. Your review makes me want to prioritize it sooner. The Only Plane in The Sky, sound phenomenal. ( That Dude's Mom )
That’s funny you say that, because a big part of the book talks about how one of the characters was friends with the author of the Eloise books! I hope you enjoy Heartstopper, it’s so sweet and yes…. The Only Plane was so, so good. Thank you for watching, That Dude’s Mom! 😊
The first Agatha Christie book I read had Poirot and then I read a poirot-less book and it made me feel robbed lol. he adds so much fun to the story I want to stick to the books that feature him. great books! the only plane in the sky sounds so good but it think it would make me spiral and cry lol
I'll have to save the good Poirot's for last then! I feel like I'm going to get attached to his character. :) Yeah, The Only Plane definitely affected me a lot. I found myself watching TH-cam videos about it and some of the real footage was really hard to watch. I definitely cried while reading this! I think the audio really brings it up a bit, emotionally speaking, and maybe physically reading it would be easier.
I might finally be ready to read something about 9/11. That book sounds really fascinating. I live near DC, and it was a pretty traumatic experience. I worked at a school, and we were sent home for the day, and I know for sure we were off the next day as well. We might have been off the whole rest of the week, I can't remember. But between the plane hitting the (formerly supposed to be impenetrable) Pentagon and rumors of other planes still unaccounted for circling in our air space, it was a tense time.
Wow, Anne, that must've been so scary! I was in Western NY so pretty far away, but being close to DC and not knowing what would be next is awful. It was a great book. Definitely an emotional read, but I think it was balanced pretty well with facts and acts of kindness and hope. It's definitely a day most of us will never forget.
Great reading month! Most of these are...not really books I would pick up enjoy. lol But hey, reading is reading. :) I do want to read 'The Last Plane in the Sky,' but I am not sure when I will get to it. Hopefully your February reads are going great as well! :)
Thank you so much for still watching my channel, even if we don't always read the same books! This Read What you Own challenge had me reading more romance than I usually do, lol. Hope your reading is going well this month so far, too! Mine has been pretty slow, but I think it's because I"m reading too many things at once :D
Poirot is delightful. I have the same issue with Hallmark style books as I do with the movies, that I always have too many important movies and books unwatched to get to them 🙈
I'll be honest, I'm doing the Read What You Own Challenge so that was my motivation to read all of that holiday romance that has been sitting on my shelves! :D There is never enough time in the day to get to it all!
Heartstopper is banned in several places in the US, so you read two banned books! I read I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings when I was in Middle School and I checked it out of my school library (hopefully no banners see that...), and I turned out just fine! Go figure!
What a great January of reading you had!! Have you read Birthday by Meredith Russo? It's another great LGBTQ+ book. I tried reading Call the Midwife but couldn't really get into it - but I do love the BBC series. I might have to give the book another try at some point. Thank you for another lovely video!!
Thanks Kim! No, I haven't heard of Birthday yet, but I'll put it on my list! I'm trying to get some ideas for June/Pride Month so thanks for the recommendation! I'm excited for the BBC series once I'm done with the books. I think I might have enjoyed Call the Midwife so much because I loved the audio version. The narrrater was such a good actor and did that cockney accent to perfection!
what?? Do mean the series " Call the midwife" is based on an autobiography? Thanks for reminding me of "I know why the caged bird sings" I mean´t to read this book several years back but this time I will! Thanks.
You’re welcome and yes! The show is based on her memoir! Call the Midwife is a 3 book series. :) I haven’t seen the show so I don’t know how closely the stories are to the books, but it’s on my list to watc. I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings was so good. :)
Hi Farrah! I still get chills when I hear you talk about The Last Plane in the Sky. I'm thinking of reading it in September. One thing that I struggle with is getting motivated to read a book after I've watched the adaptation...So Call The Midwife and Heartstopper both- I've watched on Netflix... absolutely adore them! They are fantastic productions and because I love them so much I don't feel motivated to read the books....I usually wait to watch the adaptation until I've read the book because I know this about myself and how I'm motivated. What are your thoughts...does this happen to you? Do you have any advice in regards to these two book series in particular?
Thanks, Mariandrea! Yes! I feel the same way!! I prefer to read first, then watch the adaptation. Rarely do I read the book AFTER, unless the show becomes an all time favorite. I'm so glad you had such a good reading month. Watching your videos always makes me feel so relaxed and cozy, which is much needed!
Thank you, Erin! That is so nice of you to say. I always feel the same when I watch your videos as well. :)
It's so lovely having a good reading month, I'm experiencing that with my February reading and it's lovely :)
Thanks, Bryndis! I'm so happy to hear that your reading is going so well this month so far. I'll be checking your channel to see what you've been reading! :)

I’ve heard such great things about The Only Plane in the Sky. I need to prioritize this one.
I hope you enjoy it when you get to it! It was so well done 👍

I’d heard of The Only Plane In the Sky, but this is the first time I heard anyone talk about it in any detail, and sell it so persuasively!
Thanks Dave! I'm honestly surprised more people haven't talked about that one. The only time I have ever heard it mentioned was by someone on Goodreads who raved about the audio - she was right! :)
Always so calming to watch your videos.
Thank you so much, Nicole ! :)
A good month I’d say! 🙂 I watched Heartstopper instead of reading it and loved it! I may pick up the books at some point. Have a great weekend!
Thanks Julie! My daughter and I also watch the Heartstopper show and we love it too! It definitely captures the whimsical nature of the books so well. :) Happy weekend to you too!
Seven books in a month is good going. Best wishes.
Thank you for your kind words. Hope you are enjoying the books you've gotten to this month. :)
I've been wanting to read Heartstopper... or watch the show... everyone always has such good things to say 🤗
You can't go wrong with either! They're both very sweet and the show is so whimsical and well done :)
Sounds like you had a great month. Great reviews! Glad you enjoyed so many great books! Can’t wait to see what else you get into!
Thanks, Kat! Two months of great reading in a row, I lucked out! February is definitely going much slower, haha. Looking foward to your wrap up for the end of the month! :)

Awesome!! I really hope you enjoy it :)
Amazing as always. I really need to start my journey with Agatha Christie 😅
