Good morning, gents. Interesting observation about the pot having had many tea varieties over the years. Perhaps a side-by-side comparison with brand new pots and mugs. I haven't heard the phrase "builder's cup" in ages as it's not used here in the States. Nonetheless, this channel is a golden find: thank you for the entertaining experiences and sage advice.
I think blind taste testing is demanded. The British affection for teapots, instilled into the national character over generations, is very hard to overcome. Even me, German-born American surrounded in youth by Irish-Americans and teapots am partial to tea brewed in pots. (I wish I were more patient and would take on the 'bother.' Too often I just dunk the tea bag into a mug and off I go. For guests, however, I would never do such a thing. Tea pot only for visitors.) That's a question for you two gentlemen: Do you always remove the tea bag before having your cuppa?
I've found myself really enjoying everyday loose leaf teas done in the pot. I started out looking for a replacement bag, but I suspect a return to the teapot is what is happening. I've been exploring some lesser known brands like Brooke Bond, Tata tea, Ahmad, Safari, Liptons, and Wagh Bakri, all inexpensive, and I've found an absolute gem.. Tata Tea Premium. BTW, did you know all teapots speak Teabrew?.. I'll get my own coat tnx 🙃
@@punktea8142 Very different. I've tried Tata premium, Gold, and Agni. They are all subtly different (their Gold is interesting, it has 10% green leaf added), but none are like Tetley, thankfully. 😄

I wonder if Tata tea and Tetley are the same tea? Tetley are owned by Tata.
