So nice to see you gents enjoying a lovely cuppa after so many recent unappealing disappointments. During the summer, I usually make a pot of tea so that I have some left for a refreshing glass of iced tea after enjoying a cup of hot brew. Yesterday's high was 99F degrees and today's high temperature is forecast to be 98F degrees, so iced tea is a must come such stifling afternoons. Conversely, there are cold, blustery winter days when I still make a pot, knowing that the only way to thwart the misery and cold of the season is with multiple back to back cups of First Flush Darjeeling.
I agree with Chrisdado: one teaspoon per cup and one for the pot - a tried-and-true formula for one of life's greatest pleasures. This morning was Harney & Sons White Peach, a delectably delicate brew that yields a gorgeous iced tea for the hottest hours of the day. Of course, I don't know why I am moaning about the heat as I'm sat here typing my comment in the luxuriated environs of an air-conditioned terraced house. Perhaps it's knowing that the heat is just on the other side of the wall that flusters one - and I do have that merciless fifteen-foot walk to the garage when I must venture forth into the world. Methinks it's the knowledge of iced tea being my reward upon returning home that makes the journey possible in these diabolical temperatures. As always, thanks for the review and for all that you do for the tea-enjoying community. Cheers!

The amount of tea in the pot really depends on the size of the pot, and or the amount of water you put in. Many years ago a friend made some tea in the pot using that very same formula, but it was not a very big pot. The cup of tea was like tar, not really to my taste!
We will get round to iced tea at some point, once the rain stops here.

Perhaps the old teapot adage "one teaspoon per person and one for the pot" may be relevant here if you are using extra water for the pot? Are you chaps using extra water because your pots are to large to submerge the teabags with the same amount of water? Perhaps it may be a more level playing field to use 2 bags in the pot with double the water volume? Food for thought, I accept no responsibility for extra visits to the loo if you hate wasted tea 🤣

We have tried a few combos off camera, and decided one and a half to two mug fulls in the pot. If you think about it, when you go out for a cuppa and get a pot you usually get one and a half to two cups out of the pot.
