This makes me happy as a canadian that loves baseball. Way to go larry i definitely looked up to you in baseball growing up and i am very proud of ya bud!!!!!
James Hanson ---- A great day for Canadians and for Rockies fans. Larry Walker is much loved in the Rocky Mountain West. He richly deserves to be in the HoF.
I`m thrilled. no one deserves it more than Larry. true Canadian and 100% baseball player. he has helped so many young Canadians develop as players. Way to Go LW!!!
Larry Walker was that man. He first got his respect from the game of baseball and when you watch his games you see the type of player he is. Meat and potato guy from Canada. I really like the Expos they had a great lineup they were Ready to head to the World Series but then the lockout and then the sale of the team.
Hall of Fame vote should be kept private and never revealed in you get enough votes to get in. Why are we now ranking the ones who get in? Isnt the point to get in. Who cares about how high a score? Why is this now a thing?
For those of you new to baseball the real reason Larry Walker was made to wait so long for the HOF was because he played in Montreal. MLB hates the Canadian franchises (Toronto and Montreal back then) and all of the American reporters and analysts pretend the Canadian teams and players don't exist. They're very meticulous in NOT giving any exposure to them. There are numerous instances where this is the case. Tim Raines being another perfect example. Carlos Delgado lost an MVP award one year because he made the "mistake" of playing in Toronto rather than playing in New York, Boston, etc... and was punished for it. Go back and look at the stats. Delgado was the clear MVP winner given his stats and lost to Giambi if I recall correctly.
@@mikemenke4377 i know neither he or clemens. they both have 2 yrs of eligibility. what i'm sayin is that if you can keep pete rose out ,you can keep anyone out. that being said, i'm a long time fan of both players
@@randyrysdale852 gotcha. I think they all should be in. The bottom line is it's all for entertainment. Did they entertain you and were they the best of that time? if the answer is yes they belong in the Hall of Fame. I don't have the exact requirements in front of me but I believe you have to be a player for 10 years and you have to be one of the best of that time period. Jeter deserves the HOF but he was always so over-hyped. Imagine if Larry played for the Yanks how fast he would've been voted in
Wow, didn't realize Canadians were so uber nationalistic.
Happy for him great player Jeff Kent got screwed best hitting 2nd baseman of his era
