I was at Busch stadium the day he first showed up. Their was a buzz going around the 2nd inning, that the Cardinals had picked up Larry Walker..and he's on his way to the stadium right now!!! Whaat!?!? No he is not! A few innings later someone taps their friend on their shoulder "look there he is"!! In a few short minutes the entire stadiums standing..chanting Larry Larry!! LaRussa immediately puts him in the ondeck circle to pinch hit....place goes NUTS! One of the best..and most memorable baseball moments of my entire life. He was a part of what I will always consider the most deadly murderers row lineups in Cardinal history. Thanks for everything!!
I too am a Cardinals fan. I couldn't believe it when they said he was coming to STL. Also, pretty cool of ownership to give him a 2006 WS ring after he retired, partly because he was a spring training contributor, and it was said that he was rewarded for his play in the 2004 world series; one of the few to make an impact.
congrats Larry way to inspire young Canadian ball players!!! The country is proud of ya bud. Side note totes Canadian listening to rush over some Canadian beers.
Larry Walker has always been a class act. He was as a player ,and I'm not surprised that he is as a man. Congratulations Larry, on this long overdue honor.
I always loved rooting for Larry Walker and he has some of the more quirkier moments and quotes in baseball lore. One of the best personalities of the game and so glad he got the vote :) He was a damn good player too and such an awesome hitter. And the SpongeBob Squarepants shirt is off the charts.
Ends off with "Congratulations Canada". National hero in my eyes, and a great role model for Canadians to follow. Also, pretty damn fine ball player at that.
He was always a terrific player to watch. You knew with him at the plate you were going to see a quality at-bat from a professional hitter. He was every bit as intense and focused as Tony Gwynn or Wade Boggs or Edgar Martinez. And he was a terrific outfielder. To collect 154 assists....? Defense is so underrated when it comes to HOF debates. Great outfielder. A model major league player.
Always liked Walker. Not only a great player but someone with integrity and a pretty bright guy. I remember when the Expos President started to trade the best assets Larry spoke up about it. Some did not like but someone had to say it. I'm sad that he doesn't go in as an Expos but I respect his decision.
That shirt just topped his switch hitting against Randy Johnson. Truely 5 tools HOF and shameful that it took 10 years for those writers to figure this out....
Larry was in my class in grade 6 and one day knocked out the pitcher with a line drive to the head. That was the Elementary school equivalent to a home run...'ol Jim was never the same.
Seven fewer votes and he wouldn't have gotten in during his final year of eligibility. Shameful lack of recognition. A happy ending, fortunately, but *LONG* overdue.
It has been said that baseball players aren't very bright. In fact the most dim witted of all athletes. He wasn't even aware that his town in Florida and Toronto are in the same time zone.
Should have bee a first ballot HOFer. Jack morris and trevor hoffman got in before he did and bth have w.a.r.s. of 43 and 28. Larry Walker's w.a.r. is about 73. Schilling, Kenny Lofton, and Fred McGriff still not in and far better players than hoffman and morris.
He'll probably go in as a Rockie, you can even argue as maybe an Expo, but he's undeniably going in as what's most important to us: a Canadian.
As a Cardinal fan I am just happy to see him get in!
timtwoface Colorado needs this! He can help Todd Helton get in now too!
@holio that's cause there was no Expos anymore
That glorious shirt belongs in the Hall of Fame.
Facts.
Walker a a legend. Forget that nonsense about Coors Field - he was a beast almost his entire career
No.
Larry Walker in the Hall of Fame and listening to Rush. How much better could it get.
From an Expos fan, Thank You Larry!
We're so happy and proud! Congratulations!!!

That shirt is spectacular!
Congrats Larry from a fellow Canadian and a huge Expos fan. You deserve it buddy...way to go!
Congratulations Larry Walker.
Dude never missed the ball. Great contact hitter on top of the power.
congrats Larry way to inspire young Canadian ball players!!! The country is proud of ya bud. Side note totes Canadian listening to rush over some Canadian beers.
Yeah, that's pretty cool. One Canadian legend, celebrating another Canadian legend, RIP Neal Peart.
He was a great 5 tool player and no other Canadian deserves it more. Really happy for him
Larry definitely had my vote . 17 years with 3.13 batting average 385 homers 3 time batting champ. Should been in hall long time ago.
You don't get a vote.
Larry Walker has always been a class act. He was as a player ,and I'm not surprised that he is as a man. Congratulations Larry, on this long overdue honor.
So deserved. Congrats Larry
As much as I love Jeter, Larry has a special place in my baseball loving heart
Congratulations Larry. Well done! You gave a lot of Canadians like myself something else to cheer about.
Great for you Larry!!!! Proud!!!
One of the classiest players ever in the MLB. So happy for him! Great all around player!

Great interview! Congratulations, Larry!
Great interview. Super happy for Larry. Fun ending with the Rush songs. :D
Not only a hall of famer, but a man of utmost taste and style.
Him and Bagwell were my two favorite hitters growing up. Congrats on getting in ! 🎊🎉
Ends off with "Congratulations Canada". National hero in my eyes, and a great role model for Canadians to follow. Also, pretty damn fine ball player at that.
Off and on the field... Always, a Hall Of Famer... Larry Walker!
Overdue. Better late than never, but Larry Walker should have been in the Hall when he was eligible 10 years ago.
He was always a terrific player to watch. You knew with him at the plate you were going to see a quality at-bat from a professional hitter. Congratulations Larry on getting into the baseball hall of fame.you are a class act person and athlete.
If Walker had been an American he would of been in the Hall Of Fame along time ago .Congrats Larry well deserved
That shirt is legendary
*He reminds me of George Brett...honest and hard working and two guys who maximized their abilities by giving 100% on the field*
Always liked Walker. Not only a great player but someone with integrity and a pretty bright guy. I remember when the Expos President started to trade the best assets Larry spoke up about it. Every jersey I ever wore was #33 because of this guy. Couldn’t be happier
Long overdue but better late than never!!!
Congrats Larry Walker!
RIP Neil Peart 1:19
That shirt just topped his switch hitting against Randy Johnson. Truely 5 tools HOF and shameful that it took 10 years for those writers to figure this out....
Started out as a goalie in the Montreal farm system playing with his best friend Cam Neely!
not sure how everyone else feels but his Sponge Bob shirt is awesome!
Larry was in my class in grade 6 and one day knocked out the pitcher with a line drive to the head. That was the Elementary school equivalent to a home run...'ol Jim was never the same.
hey Larry congratulation
OH CANADA❗
Congrats
Hard not to get emotional watching that
I came here because of the shirt.
Congrats to Larry from all those who followed the Coquitlam Reds and spent many nights at Mundy Park.
Baseball Bits should get a signed hat
3:28 lol
LOL Larry THAT shirt?
Long long LONG overdue!!!!! Look at his stats. His away slash numbers are better than Dave Winfield's entire career. A true 5 tool player.
His childhood friend Kevin R would have been so proud. Congrats Walker, RIP Kev!
Sid lotions his legs with his feet in the air.
Even better is that he is a BC boy! Suck it, haters!
I wonder how many times he walked.
He should've been in yrs ago
Shouldve made it a long time ago
Incoming bogey at 3:26

Thumbs up for SpongeBob:)
WTF is he wearing? a SpongeBob Racing jacket?

Yeah, but is he sponge-worthy?
Yeah like that dude never did amphetamines....
Great player, but not an hof er in my opinion
Crazy you could write this without eye sight. I'm sorry you lost your vision at some point. Prayers for Nugz
Good thing your opinion doesn't matter.
Everybody gets a trophy on Krissy and Tyler’s team.
