That was a sick catch. A lot of luck involved obviously, but to have the awareness to spot it under his body off the back of the shoe is amazing. I can't believe I haven't seen this catch until now.
DANG!! thats amazing!! excellent ball awareness to realize ithe ball didnt touch the ground, AND to make a play on it AND stay inbounds making the catch!
At full speed, that's what it looked like to me too. But on slo-mo, he had both hands securely on the ball when his left leg was close to the sideline, b4 he rolled out of bounds. That's a completion, and a damn awesome one at that.
Cool ... hey, thanks for providing some 'worthwhile' feedback to this catch. Most everybody else just wants to complain and trash this catch. You're right ... Freeman's was outstanding.
1:54 Check it out... He has control of the ball, sitting on his arse with two feet in bounds. He then tips over and falls out of bounds. But he had control of the ball with TWO feet in bounds. It counts in college and would have counted in the NFL.... Amazing
yes, it bounced off his hands at first, but the fact that he stayed with the ball and used all of his body to 1) keep the ball off the ground and 2) catch and tuck the ball before he rolled out of bounds makes it a great play
Stiguy (aka Bill Lettuce) Doesn't it look like the clip they used is from that one college that WWU played that wore the old Portland Breakers unis? Pacific?
WOW! I'm from Pittsburgh, so I pretty much worship the Immaculate Reception, but I have to admit, i think this play was a lot better. Maybe a lot luckier, but it was still amazing.
In terms of defying gravity and physics, then yes. But overall, when you look at the significance of Manning-Tyree pass, and what it meant for Eli and David, then that catch was greater, and more memorable.
thats at my home stadium and right down the street from my house. awsome! ( the WWU catch) and wow that camera man was in the right place at the right time! and damn that field used to be SHIT-E
same here, I was a receiver and I was put in a defensive back and made a diving interception in between two receivers and took a hit and then had possession after the ball bounced in the air off my helmet. Trust me, it would look better if it were on tape. I'm sure one of the alum football players do from that state title game.
As everyone knows, that is true, BUT it is also true that sometimes you have to be LUCKY to be good... even the greatest players have gotten lucky quite often.
I think the fact that he grabs it off the back of his heel means that he did use skill and talent to keep the ball. It didn't just land up in his hands magically.
I agree, it's lucky. But it's the way he never stops reaching for the ball that is incredible. 99.99% of all players would have given up, but he kept reaching for it.
I don't know HOW many times I have to write this ... the defensive player tipped it JUST in front of him, so yes, it hit him in the chest, but the ball was deflected just as it arrived. So it wasn't as easy as it looks.
The humming Joe does while opening the envelope is classic, "Do-do-do-do-do.
wtf Ryan Moody
I haven't seen this in YEARS. I remember it was on some clip show in the 2000s, the "Best Damn Spectacular Plays" or something.
that was so amazing..ive seen it so many times but its still amazing every time i see it
I went to high school with this guy and played with him. His Dad was our Varisty coach. Didnt think it was on TH-cam, Nice.
Chris Moore showed great soccer style skills in making that super catch.
wow that is unbeleiveable i dont care what you say best catch in any sport ever played
That was a sick catch. A lot of luck involved obviously, but to have the awareness to spot it under his body off the back of the shoe is amazing. I can't believe I haven't seen this catch until now.
I live right next WWU...and at the end of the clip they were interviewing him behind the crappy high school that I graduated from!
DANG!! thats amazing!! excellent ball awareness to realize ithe ball didnt touch the ground, AND to make a play on it AND stay inbounds making the catch!
wow that catch owned! it was sorta like a taunt off the hands in between the feet off the heel and into the hands very nice catch

At full speed, that's what it looked like to me too. But on slo-mo, he had both hands securely on the ball when his left leg was close to the sideline, b4 he rolled out of bounds. That's a completion, and a damn awesome one at that.

I was born in 91...these videos look ancient...oh god, I'm starting to feel old and I shouldn't even begin to feel this way yet O.o
The sickest play i will ever see in sports
It is unbelievable because he was able to stay with it and keep it off the ground.
I can't argue.
That was awesome!
That was amazing!
WOW what a first catch and a run
Damn!! Insanee chris moore ;) my respects ..
very funny video.. also love the part with the guy who get knocked out while touch downing.
"THE HANDS - THE FOOT - THE HEAL - THE *didn´t understand* - THE OTHER HEAL - THE LEFT HAND - THE RIGHT HAND" soo funny hahahha
the run was hard work, durability and balance, the catch was intuition with a little bit of an oops.
Good job boys
I remember how this was always showed on ESPY commercials around 92-94 or so.
OMFG he actually caught it. it dosn't look like at first glance but he did.
Still better then Odell Beckham jr catch
that catch was amazing
1:54
Check it out... He has control of the ball, sitting on his arse with two feet in bounds. He then tips over and falls out of bounds. But he had control of the ball with TWO feet in bounds. It counts in college and would have counted in the NFL.... Amazing
That is exactly what you call "THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME"
Thats amazing! WOW!
What a catch!
He was out of bounds!
Reggie Brooks KO run was insane!
All of these fricken plays would have been amazing to see in the Super Bowl!
yes, it bounced off his hands at first, but the fact that he stayed with the ball and used all of his body to 1) keep the ball off the ground and 2) catch and tuck the ball before he rolled out of bounds makes it a great play
i love chris moore
Wow when I looked up greatest catch ever I never thought that WWU would basically own the title. I live in Bellingham where WWU is located XD.
totaly sick
Stiguy (aka Bill Lettuce) Doesn't it look like the clip they used is from that one college that WWU played that wore the old Portland Breakers unis? Pacific?
what great hands!
You have to be kidding if you think the pronthro catch is better than this. That catch is incredible, but this one is unfreakingbelievable.
Awesome
WOW! I'm from Pittsburgh, so I pretty much worship the Immaculate Reception, but I have to admit, i think this play was a lot better. Maybe a lot luckier, but it was still amazing.
Wow... Talk about being lucky with that catch. that was amazing
Ball didn't touch the ground! Helluva catch!
In terms of defying gravity and physics, then yes. But overall, when you look at the significance of Manning-Tyree pass, and what it meant for Eli and David, then that catch was greater, and more memorable.
that was amazing
that is sick.
Dang, talk about a RB at heart on that one TD run, he kept running for a TD after he got knocked out.
awesome
thats at my home stadium and right down the street from my house. awsome! ( the WWU catch) and wow that camera man was in the right place at the right time! and damn that field used to be SHIT-E
Thats amazing
hey i'm from that area. cool. and awesome catch!
I think mypguru was referring to the Antonio Langham clip in the video.
The best part is the camera angle! Can you imagine if we had a shitty view of the most amazing catch ever??
same here, I was a receiver and I was put in a defensive back and made a diving interception in between two receivers and took a hit and then had possession after the ball bounced in the air off my helmet. Trust me, it would look better if it were on tape. I'm sure one of the alum football players do from that state title game.
He was able to make that catch again on Sports Science
Wow...just...wow
the kid guessed where the ball would be based off it hitting off his foot, butt, and the back of his leg. there is skill involved in that
amazing!!!1
ur rite ampm thats amazing
thanks, Korkie, I'll update that info!
woah thats a sick ass catch
As everyone knows, that is true, BUT it is also true that sometimes you have to be LUCKY to be good... even the greatest players have gotten lucky quite often.
Pretty damned impressive catch..
the greatest catch ever and only 1,549,265 views come on
why can't some of you people be positive, the run and the catch were amazing in there own unique way.
god damn that was epic
Much better than the Prothro catch or ND run. Also had control before he went out of bounds. Are you guys actually watching the clip?
Chris Moore. You my dude. No homo.
Its the mix out of luck and very good reactions to let this magic happen :P
@ the beginning i was like the catch is way 2 good 2 "toss out the window"
and i saw it and i started eating my words
Crazy
he did a get lite move with the ball
I would vote this catch as "the most messy one" of the year
Prothro's was great .. but this was exceptionally great!.
lol the dairy air the other ankle the left hand the right hand the catch HOLY CRAP THATS A GREAT CATCH 10/5
that catch was ridicuously lucky, i think the first play by notre dame took the most skill but the winning catch was the most fun to watch
Jesus Christ!!! That was IMPOSSIBLE!
I think the guy from Notre Dame should have won. He broke about six tackles and then knocked himself out when he scored. That was amazing!
omfg what a catch!!!!
That was a good catch
I think the fact that he grabs it off the back of his heel means that he did use skill and talent to keep the ball. It didn't just land up in his hands magically.
i seen this catch on Natgeotv in Sport since, the chance of this catch are 1 to 12000000000
good eye and call by ref
it looked like he was break dancing with the football. haha XD
How many times do I have to write this ... the ball was tipped just as it arrived. I was right there, it was tipped.
that wasnt luck! it was talent! plus, his head coach was amazzzing! so there's proof, go viks!
Tyrone Prothro's catch a few years ago is the best catch I've ever seen. It's vastly better than the Chris Moore's catch.
even if he sucks and should have caught the ball that is the best catch in the history of football period.
I agree, it's lucky. But it's the way he never stops reaching for the ball that is incredible. 99.99% of all players would have given up, but he kept reaching for it.
