A big thank you for your excellent efforts to connect Quantum Physics with Vedanta . This will def attract our youth to approach our vedantic texts with a scientific temper which they imbibed with their western education and not dismiss our scriptures off hand. Saying this i might add that iam a part of Vishishtadwaitha sampradaya of Ramanuja which i feel bridges the gap between Madhava's Dwaita ,so suitable for daily harmonious living in the world which we take as real an Shankara's Advaita which is quite difficult for common man to grasp all of a sudden that the whole world we are living in is just an illusion ,it is like taking the rug away from under your feet. I liked your explanation that though this world is illusory ,it emerges as it is observed ,yet we have to follow the laws and values of this world ,(each world or loka which has arisen due to its observers, have their own laws and values).

Enjoyed listening to your talk and the explanation of the relationship between Vedanta and quantum physics. Having some background on the subject it still requires a major shift in one's thinking before one can get used to the concepts explained and assimilate them into one's day to day thought processes.
Congratulations and thank you for your effort. I hope the talk has been helpful to others as well.

Quite convincing answers to people like us who are perhaps still in the Pre K.G. on this journey. Analogies make us understand the seemingly mind blowing facts in our philosophies. Also the fact that we are definitely made to pay for the so called 'bad karmas' even if we are in a dream, so to say, holds good. Because we do have dreams that are scary. Or at the least, quite bizarre ones.....These are actually the punishments for the crimes, in a way... Those who have experienced, can relate to this. Appreciating what we are bestowed with is perhaps the first step to pass the Pre K.G. that we are in.😀

Its still hard to believe and appreciate the main observations : The universe is not real but its a myth. Probably the best way to describe is that the universe we understand, through the present status of scientific thought, is only description of an elephant by blind people by touching its tail. For example, why the events in life have relationship with unexplained results.
Another point to consider is the day to day application of the theory :"Universe is not real." Quantum Physics is trying to apply its theory mainly for quantum jump in transfer of data for day to day use but probably this is not the intention or the result of Vedantha.
Nevertheless, your clarity of thought and presentation are very interesting and excellent. Please have one more live discussion for discussion from the perspective of day to day application. shape of things to come in the future.

    Hi Archana
I have been watching your videos and kudos to the great body of work you have been providing. This whole subject of Advaita Vedanta, Consciousness, Quantum physics and the interplay of these three subjects is for the eclectic mind and not for the cursory spiritual shopper.
The ancient rishi’s including Sankara and almost all the Rishi’s and Masters including Buddha gained this knowledge about the Universe, via Deep States of Meditation in Nature (Forests, Mountains, Rivers and Lakes).
The Rig Veda and all the 4 Vedas were revealed via the deepest states of meditation. The concepts of quantum physics and consciousness were deep subjects to be passed on to the ordinary people and to be grasped by them. Hence, they came up with forms and deities, which too were revealed in deep stats of meditation, along with the Sanskrit Mantras. The 3 schools of Vedanta- Dvaita, Vishishta Advaita and Advaita were all trying to make it simpler for the common man to understand these mystical concepts. The followers of Dvaita, and Vishishta Advaita got deeply attached to the Form and Personal Deity and kept challenging the other paths. Ultimately, it’s all about the experience and the journey.
When you identify with the Divine as Energy or Consciousness, you immediately make the concept of God a Universal Phenomenon and then it crosses the boundary of Religion (Hindu and Non-Hindu). If one studies Advaita carefully, you will find that it’s all about Energy and Consciousness.
There is a lot of research currently happening in the Western World too on the subject of Consciousness. The leading Universities such as Harvard, MIT, Oxford and Cambridge have been doing extensive research on this subject.
I think you should create a few videos on Consciousness and Physics and make these topics more Universal. When we address God as Energy or Universe or Consciousness, we are now talking about a Supreme formless Intelligence that pervades the entire Cosmos then the Concepts of God is neither Indian or American nor is he or Hebrew or Christian or Muslim or Hindu. This is when it becomes Oneness and totally Universal.
I am posting a few links below, which will benefit the fellow seekers in this journey that connect the mysteries of the Universe and Spiritual Subjects and most importantly Physics.

I’m a Westerner and I find Vedanta (I think that’s it) very, very interesting. I don’t understand as much because there are so many more Gods than in the western Christian religion.
However, I do find there is a shortcoming in western thought because we/they are unable to follow complex or rather “otherness” thoughts, i.e., the alignment of quantum physics and spirituality.

Thank you for such a spirited discussion. My best regards to you. 🙏🙏 mithya is often translated to illusion and this in common day to day usage, a seeker struggled to understand how this transactable world is an illusion. Mithya means one which depends on other for its reality. In reality it’s all Brahm. But we don’t teach classes with this reality, as in, in the mithya jagat, the mithya guru teaches the mithya student about mithyatvam of jagat. And Bhagwatpad Shankaracharya, an avtar of Shiv jee himself, has not denied existence of jagat. Only for the “atma gyaani” there’s the nishtha that brahm is all here is. A good way to understand mithyatvam is Shree Krishna’s life. We’re the chariots in those times non existent. It was solid and transactable, experiencable and usable. Or his own naam Roopa. Even though he is sagun Brahmavtara. But it’s adhishthan is Brahm. This in that sense it’s mithya that is has no independent reality. In other words the is-ness of that chariot is Brahm. So illusion word unless properly explained creates an issue for most seekers. Just my humble offering. 🙏

The statement @4:50 "An observer is required to bring this world into existence" is not a proven position within the scientific community - more of a cop-out to accommodate the collapse of the wave function. As per Advaita, the universe is the dream of Brahman, which is none other than the Atman, and is therefore my dream too - resolving the issue of the existence of the moon only when observed, raised by Einstein (from a dualistic position}.
    Enjoyed the discussion! 🙏

The ultimate state of Self realization is beyond the intellect and hence in that state there is only being and it can not be described, conceptualized or imagined. Something that transcends the mind can not be understood or described by the mind. So, you can only be that state , knowing is being.

Madvacharya's Dwaitam , Ramanujacharya's visishtadvatam, and Sankaracharya's Advaitan are stages of the disciples spiritual evolution. They are not different paths. The culmination is Vedantic truth.A great Saint used to say that you are God, the emperor of the universe but you think you are beggar, throw away your begging bowl and claim your kingdom!. The Hindu definition of God is: SAT CHIT ANANDA. Eternal Blissful consciousness.
SRI RAMANA MAHARISHI USED TO SAY THAT THE BEST DEFINITION OF GOD IS WHAT GOD TOLD MOSES WHEN MOSES ASKED GOD WHAT HE SHOULD TELL THE PEOPLE ABOUT GOD God told Moses to tell them ' I AM THAT I AM. That is the sense ' I AM' . That is pure awareness .

    Actually,
Even in our dream, 'the world seen in the dream appears to be real while dreaming' . We understand dream as unreal only when we wake up. Like that, inner awakening is needed to comprehend the unreality of the world seen in our waking state.Inner awakening takes one to Thuriya, the fourth state of Consciousness (which is different from waking, dream and deep sleep states).
Actually this state is beyond thoughts, beyond thinking mind! That is why Sage Patanjali told 'Yoga chitha vritti niroda'(Yoga is control of thoughts).
Our memory and thoughts stand as a hurdle to comprehend the Truth of Existence. One has to transcend them.

I would also like to contribute a little more. Vedanta was never a mainstream let’s teach everyone is Brahm idea. 1. It is not a philosophy. It’s not a theory. It is a pramaana. Just as eyes see, have no choice. Similarly, people who spend lifetimes saying it’s a philosophy fail to derive the light of the truth. Academic discussion on Vedanta is not going to help. 2. Vedanta is the crown jewel of the Vedic vision. Beneath that is karm kanda and upasna kanda. People need to be very careful before they say Gods are concepts. And learn from Pujya Shankaracharyas even today. To whom are Gods “unreal”? Either in Kalyug every street corner has a Vedanti and atma gyaani or we want to short circuit the path laid out in the Vedas. Across janmas, if someone’s time has come for the truth, it will lead them to a Guru and no questions remain. Even then for lok sangraha the gyaani cannot utter things like God is a concept. Because what agenda can a gyaani have. 3. People need to do seva upaasna and karm hoga for years to clean their mind before saying things like philosophy says so. As long as it remains a philosophy, people should ask themselves honestly if it has yielded them what Vedanta promises. If they answer honestly, the answer will be an emphatic no. Shree Krishna has himself said two nishthas and no more exist. You either do karm yoga or sankhya or gyaana marg. Karm yoga isn’t living life as it is. Can you do arpan buddhi for raging vasanas selfish ones day in day out? If so, you haven’t even begun karm yoga. The journey from swartha to parmatma begins with actual karma that’ one can offer to Bhagawabn.
There’s a grave risk to modern teaching of Vedanta. So called modern Indian mind wants to skip the edifice and claim Brahm status as a jeeva. It’s a travesty. One should learn from Sanyasis who spend decades mulling over the import of Vedanta while we glibly talk we are Brahm while our mind rages with vasanas. It’s mere talk. A bit like saying I have won the Olympics while eating chips on my couch. It’s theoretical at best because I don’t make an effort and when I have reached there, no question will remain anyway. Just wanted to warn against this “Assi Brahm, Tussi Brahm” mentality we fall into today.
Put simply, one cannot become sattvik straight from tamasik it’s impossible. So one should overthrow vasanas until the truth reveals itself in its shining glory through consistent study of scriptures under a Guru. Only then and even so only before select students can one even utter that Gods are unreal. Otherwise it is irresponsible and frankly doesn’t do anything for the seeker and throws them off the steps even before beginning the journey. 🙏🙏

Namaste ,traitha siddantha, bhagvat gita gives you the true meaning of God,jeevatma, Aatma, and paramatma, all living beings are jeevatma, Aatma is doing all the karya according to jeevas karma and paramatma is just observer.Paramatma different from Aatma he is para ,first we should have Aatma Gyan then only you can attain moksha, then only you can understand paramatma, the three vibhuti Rekha on shivling represents the three aatmaa middle Rekha is important so they have marked with red kumkuma which represents the importance of Aatma the top Rekha is for paramatma and the lowest one is jeevatma ,after getting the Aatma Gyan only you can attain moksha when only paapa punya karmas should be null,if you have karma then you will be again born .

Ramanujacharya's Vishishtadwityam is a bit different from Madhavacharumya's Dwithya and Shankaracharya"s Advaita,in that as the name itself suggests,,Vishista meaning meaningful important difference. Ramanuja says that the universe is real, duality exists ,as long as you are immersed in it,identifying yourself with the material world around you, that is the duality of Madhava, where you and the universe are different ,you live within this ,obeying the laws and also different from Shankara's Advaita. Where you and the universe are not separate, what you are living is an illusion. Ramanuja argues that there is a middle path where you live in the universe understanding that though you are separate from the world around you(, needed to live our day to day lives, ),yet you should slowly reach a state through meditating on the sadgunas of the Brahman ,you come to realise that you dont become the Parabrahman but yet you are a part of the Parabrahman,so your end goal is to overcome the separation between the indidual aatman and Parmatman, merging from the single into the whole and for crossing this bridge if illusory separation, you need a Guru to ferry you across.🙏🙏.

Maybe I don’t have the big picture, but recently watched video saying that the recent Nobel winners in physics prove there is no universe as it relates to the vendanta. When I went to the Nobel web site there wasn’t anything close to mentioning this. Can anybody tie the Nobel winners/physics and the Vedanta together. This video says that it’s not conclusive. I’m a little confused as to the facts.

If all this reality is an illusion, then all questions about it are also an illusion. Seeking enlightenment becomes an illusion, etc. In fact, being illusory simply means that it's irrelevant, it being empty, as in Sunyata. Washing the dishes is enlightenment.

Universe is real.Let us assume that there are no human beings. Even then, the universe, the matter exists. Everything moves in order. It's true that are chance elements which deviate from the path, but only within certain boundaries. Alamar.

The people who are saying should we be proud that Indians came to discover all this so much before.... let me just say this to them... I did not discover it even though I am an Indian. In my previous life I may have been in America or Europe or Africa or anywhere in the world. I may have been an animal or plant in my previous life. Then what should I be proud of??? In my next life I may be born in some other place then what is there to be proud of?? I mean people who are feeling proud of being Indian because of Vedas are just bringing ego and division... when the whole point of it is to realize the oneness of everything.

And even in the West there have been philosophers who have come to this conclusion of unity of everything and that of love and compassion. Buddha says that anyone who follows the Noble path which means being good and moral in their lives, will get enlightenment. And good people are everywhere not just India. Yes the Western methods have been different and Christianity became rigid due to the political systems and everything but we can be born anywhere. And even Christianity has Truth in it at its core if we ignore its rigidity which wasn't Jesus's idea. There is the philosophy of Stoicism, read Marcus Aurelius and other Stoic philosophers and what they say is very similar to what is written in Bhagwad Gita. And I think all people who try to live well have the same philosophy of living. Then why do people create a divide between East and West.

If according to quantum physics and Vedanta knowledge everything is an illusion and nothing exists in reality, which means this present life which we are experiencing is not real, why then should we care for chosen to striving for for a righteous purpose in this life rather than going with the flow of a life of negativity.

All Guru's and Scriptures emphasize the fact that to come out of the Maya and know our true Self we need the grace of a Realized GURU. Self effort alone won't do. So, seek a true GURU and avoid the fake ones.

Only when your karma is finished neither papa karma nor punya karma should be remaind to attain moksha you should have Aatma Gyan and then you must perform any one yoga that is Brahma yoga, karma yoga ,or bhakti yoga, these are the three dharmas preached in traitha siddantha bhagvat gita,by BhagvanShri Krishna ,the saakar roop of paramatma is bhagvan Sri Krishna ,

    • @saravanangopal185
      @saravanangopal185 ปีที่แล้ว

Yes there is no rebirth, to attain MOKSHA the imprints of PAPA,PUNYA
should be neutralized other wise the imprints in the form of frequency, will be transferred to the like minded people and the aathma will experience
Consequences of the karma in another
body it continues for thousands of generation,so that the VAMSAVRIDDHI is taking place. (child birth)
      So,our children is our rebirth

Is the universe is an illusion or locally unreal? According to Advaita our universe is an illusion.but it seems the universe is locally unreal According to quantum science matter exists as waves as well. As it is our universe is the physical manifestation of consciousness.

According to Vedanta u say the different. Hindu Gods are also creations of maya and that they are also unreal and that they have been given ‘padavis’ by the probably Maya sakthi. Then what about the other Lokas mentioned in the puranas like vikunta .,brahmaloka etc which belong to these Gods. I see u don’t hold any degree in physics though ur passion is physics why.

I thank you for making such an attempt so that people can know about it more.
The questioner asked existential question at 0:14, but the lady confused her instead of giving right answer. This way not only she is going to fall into a well, but helping another to fall into it too. This is biggest sin, and Brahmins of India have expertise at international level!
The right answer is “The world is a dream for the one who has gone beyond it, and not for you. This is why you need to practice becoming conscious of your action, thoughts and emotion, in a relaxed state. Reason 1) Buddha discovered that this is the best method to trick mind and enter into no-mind no-ego state. 2) Since last 2500 years this is best among all other menthols as millions got awakened in many countries due to this method. 3) For today’s lifestyle this method is best because our great effort of surfing in this world are put into best use through it.
