I remember my first edition of Choppers and Big Bike. Thanks: Ed Roth, Larry Kumferman, Chris Bunch, et al. I remember my first build -- a 1947 H-D FL Knuckle. That was in 1965. Those were the best of times.
This is the first time I've thought the music went with the pictures, love all those chops, love to have one and working on that. I ride a 09 BMW 1200rt, love it. I'm 66 and used to have two chops but sold 'em.
Nice sickles.... Would have loved more vintage photos.. But. Two words. THANK YOU! This little vid is now a slide show for my chopper crazed 3 yr old. The nut doesn't fall far from the loose tail pipe......
My first build was a 58 pre-unit Bonneville. I was really surprised how it felt with a weld on Hardtail and A 12 over Girder. I never was able to keep the charging system working 100% .Great Time tickle the dual Bing's throw a leg over Kick Life into it On my way. Great time in my life.
@qooky86 Now them were some mags. I still have all the issues I could get my grubby hands on back in the 70's an early 80's. Still dig flippin thru them old mags.
Some of those are bobbers,I wasn't a Jessie James fan until he did the history of choppers and exposed the Peter Fonda lie about the easy rider bikes.he was the only one to show the African American origin of many chopper styles.
+postmann1000 I agree that many of the bikes pictured are Bobbers, however Bobbers do handle a lot better in the turns and on the dirt than Choppers do. It was the Bobber that gave birth to the chopper, and the original choppers had only there forks raked out in order to get the bikes profile lower for drag testing (triumph started doing this @ the end of the 40's & early 50's while testing & developing their bikes after WWII out in California ). As for which is better, that's a matter of opinion/riding style & purpose for which the bike is built. I used to LOVE choppers when I was in my teens, however after riding one for a year & discovering its limitations I came to prefer & appreciate bobbers. I hope you'll eventually take a ride on a bobber on a nice twisty road & see how much fun they can be, or a long tour on a bagger & find that they are very convenient for the purpose they were built for. As bikers we should stick together regardless of what type of bike you ride ( & as I got older, regardless of Marque), Ride Safe
Never get tired of watching this vid, brings a smile to my dial and the music is excellent 🙂

portcitymike1 it’s about more than being pampered. It’s about the build. It’s about riding a bike no one else would dare ride.
