Man this is amazing. The colour coding of the face and hands is genius. I'm sure there is no better guide for the GPW anywhere on the internet. I'm definitely giving this endevour a shout out on my next video plus a link to the video in the comments. I imagine you needed a lie down in a darkened room after all that, some of it genuinely made my mind spin like the 3/6 year settings and manual year setting. Wow.
    Some other observations:
    1. I had no idea about the flight log groups
    2. The top tip was new to me also, I'd actually come across that issue in the past when a key dial was obscured by the minute hand
    3. The complexity of this watch makes me marvel at it, it's like a work of art, the hours of investment, R&D and manufacturing are mind blowing and I can't imagine there are many more comparable watches that are so durable and solar in the world and I think they are a dying breed
    4. For purely practical reasons I do think a digital screen helps for a watch of this complexity but the classic nature of it means it actually suits to be fully analogue
    5. Linked to point 4, thank heavens for G-Shock Connect App on this watch as it makes it immeasurably more accessible
    6. Your patience is God-like lol

I'm so pleased you found some new informations on your GPW-2000, and the flight log is really good for general time stamps too, not just for tracking your points.... very complex, but nice it has two sides with regards to all out Bluetooth or full on manually setting it up :))
The hand shift top tip is used often as that can be near impossible to see the world time sub-dial... I'm guessing you're wearing more after watching it LML :-P
Cheers for the shout-out in the next video for your GPW-2000, it's nice to have a good varied amount of help from us hey, and you certainly cover the finer points really well... love your shirt sleeve video, was again really well done, didn't comment, but did like and watch it all :))

I chatted to StormRide thinking maybe I need to make a tutorial, and wasn't really going to effort, but he said it really needed my style on this watch, as it's such an incredible piece of tech, think about if it was on a larger scale with all those motors spinning around upon button and crown actions, would be very complex, so when it's in a watch, then mind boggles LML :-P
I've done a similar manual for my Garmin tutorials, and also I made a new G-Shock tutorial called the DWS-6900TM, now that's a G-Shock dedicated fan made video :-P

Your tutorials are good reason to consider G-shock watches for the watch appreciation community. Sadly the CASIO G-Shock Gravitymaster GPW-2000 is no longer available in the USA market; it is a watch I wanted to purchase.(It has been replaced by Gravitymaster GWR-B1000X Carbon Monocoque G-Shock pilot watch). Again my appreciation for the excellent work you provide, and it should be noted by Casio-G-shock home office and marketing for their appreciation as well. :)

Love the tiny details that make this watch a true Masterpiece and since most of the New Stock is Dwindling I was glad to be able to get one before it went dry. I got a Brand New un-used watch. Perfect timing as well as I have the day off and I can thoroughly watch your Tutorial as this is such a complex watch. Tip for those with more than one GPW-2000: You can register more than one Gravitymaster in the Casio app. The app will simply name the 2nd one to GPW-2000_2. Both will successfully connect/sync. Also the flight log points are stored separately per watch. No mixing of the points between the two.

Now that's the side I was worried about.... making an instructional manual for all my G-Shock tutorials LML :-P
But for this GPW-2000, it really needed a full on tutorial, and my first attempt was just going through it in my light box, but felt like it would be confusing, so then wrote an instruction on a one sheet, then the 17 pages flowed from there, it also made it easier to navigate through the tutorial... I know it has a few repeats, but for anyone who's just hitting the time stamps, then they would miss parts out... so wasn't easy to get this right, but recently I've spent a lot of time on the last few videos, and feel I need to just have a breather before showing some easier reviews.

@@WatchUP69MrRangemanExcuse me Mr Rangeman to write you back to late. When I bought my CBR 1000 RR had on the Pirelli Corsa Rosso. In my opinion, all Pirellis tyres are amazing. Depend what do want and how many kms or milles you Drive per year. Because some of them are really soft with a high greap, but when you Drive hard in 3000 milles ir 5000, you need to change. From more than 6 years I use Brigestone Bt016. When is cold and wet work really good and for summer is a perfect compromise. I made around 20.000kms . I living on Tenerife, Canary Island, we have a good weather all the year and I use everyday that I need, so this is my experiencia. @@pacoguallar992 Hey buddy, no worries for time to reply :))
Thank you for your amazing reply, and you covered all there is to know :))
My ZX12R is a toy, so only use it for nice days... I've currently got BT16's on at the moment, but the front tyre isn't as good as the Pilot Powers I had before, but the rear is better, but don't like to mix match brands. The tyres on the ZX12R need to have a high speed rating, also the tyre walls need to be solid... I'd rather have grip than long term, so am looking about 5000km's on the rear, as I do like to gun the throttle on a sensible level, and the ZX12R is pushing 198bhp with Ram-Air and she's very torque happy :-P
I've just taken her for a spin this morning and great to ride her again, but she needs new treads!
I also have a vintage Honda RD03 HRC which has been with me for over 18yrs now, and together we've seen most of Europe... this has been my favourite bike I've owned, it's not about the power as she only has 56bhp, it's more about the connection we have... I've been looking at other bikes, but feel having big horse power from the Ninja and the endurance from the Honda, I don't see anything I would want... I do like the Honda's, and almost bought an RC30 for CHF6500 when I lived in Switzerland. I liked the original CBR900R's when they came out, something about it that I still like even today... I prefer the CBR's over the R1's and Gixer's if you're curious, and I don't really have a grail bike... but certainly not a Harley, ridden a few and just don't like how much is involved to make them do anything, so to those ride them, are more passionate than me, as I prefer a bike that needs work, but also works well :-P
Thanks again my friend, really appreciate your time to reply :))

I have an older Casio G-Shock GW-A1000 bought in 2013 and while the newer Gravity Master 2000 is an improvement with the app and multiple higher speed motors my older version which uses the main dial for stop watch and timer is easier for my use. My appetite for a new G-shock remains GPR-B1000 Rangeman; I find a digital readout and especially with newer screen technology more to my personal liking. :)

The GW-A1000 is the little buddy to the GPW-2000, but think that yours has a sensor?? Tough movement and a ticking second hand... that would be a nice one to show a side by side with :)
The MIP display is really good, not been around that long, but on the GPR-B1000 it's just brilliant... low lighting visibility is really good, the only other low lighting G-Shock I have is the GD-350 would you believe, am talking about negative displays over positive. The GPR-B1000 is a big watch just to add, but my favourite, and I mean my favourite watch in my collection :))

@@WatchUP69MrRangeman The GW-A1000 does have a second hand, solar powered, temperature readout, and multi-band 6. It has only two sub-dials, a 24 hour dial at its top and a bottom dial for day of week and indicators for world time, stop watch, countdown timer, and alarm.
Its best feature and no longer available is its stop watch and timer that uses the main dial for these functions; time function can always be seen by using its function button while these other functions can still operate. I find the small sub-dials on the newer models difficult to use.
Most g-shocks are large so the added size of GPR-B1000 for me is of little consequence. :)

*I love these Gravity Master Tough Solar & Multi Band 6/GPS timepieces. The GPW2000 is the best Gravity Master that I have. One thing it lacks is a bonafide hands shift feature. If it had that it would be perfect.*
*One feature I wish it had is the sweeping seconds movement in Stop Watch Mode. I love that in the GWA-1000/2000. I think I have on a mechanical timepiece at times when I see it sweeping. I say that as a Casio watch lover without any mechanical timepieces.*

    • @tarheelred
      @tarheelred 2 ปีที่แล้ว

*I just figured out a solution/hack to the lack of the hands movement feature, so that the Home Time Mode minute or hour hand won’t block the Stop Watch Mode subdial. In World Time Mode, find a time zone where the MINUTES differ from the UTC time (I’m in an EST/EDT time zone. Hence only my hour time differs from UTC time. But my World Time Mode **_location_** is always in UTC in my Casios). Find a city location where the minutes differ from the UTC/GMT minutes. The three locations that I’ve found apace (there may be more) is Tehran, Kabul, & Delhi.*
*(It’s best to do this when your Home Time Mode minute hand is anywhere from the 20 to 40 minute mark.) Activate the Stop Watch Mode timer. Then long press Mode to revert back to Home Time Mode. Perform the Time Swap function. Go back to Stop Watch Mode and voila! The minute hand isn’t obstructing the Stop Watch Mode subdial. YEAH BUDDDYYY!!!*
*In Home Time Mode, don’t forget to do the Time Swap function again to set your time aright while it’s in Home Time Mode.*

You have to think of the watch like a trigger to the phone, to tell it to make a location stamp, as the Gravitymaster does not hold any memory to save location stamps. If you want this, then the GPR-B1000 Rangeman has this built into the watch. The Gravitymaster can update the time/date/coordinate using the GPS, but you're only able to get a rough idea of location, it can't be used to pin point your location using the watches information.
It would've been great to have some memory built in like the GPR-B1000.

I edited the instructions on my MacBook Pro using 'Pages' then exported it into PDF, then filed transferred it to my Google Drive account just to add.
If you can view it on your PC you must be able to print what is shown... maybe you need to instruct the printer to print all of the pages in fine print.
Or maybe just use it on a tablet instead like I do???

Forget about it. Rather than have all this complication, I'll settle for just a sundial.

The problem with casio is that you need a Ph.D to operate their watches.

With this one being fully analogue, it does require the use of the instructions from time to time, but you can be lazy and just use the Bluetooth... To me, this was one of the most advanced movements from CASIO, mainly down to how all the motors intertwine together, and then tops it with GPS, MB6 and Bluetooth all from a non smart watch.
You think the newer ones are learning involved, the older ones can conceal some hidden quirks that you can easily forgot after a few weeks... at least it keeps them interesting... but Citizen digitals can be even harder ;-P

The earth is flat, you know. The Lat(itude) icon rubs me the wrong way. I just got the g-shock 2100 in full dark. Having said that I would not buy any watch showing how their watch was "in space."

@@tiagobandeira9962 Not just a fan, but it's my favourite watch too! There's something very solid about the GPR-B1000 compared to other watches, and that MIP display is just amazing... simple but always reliable and will last for a very very long time and some more on top :))
      Cheers!

@@tiagobandeira9962 Saying that... the other week my Fenix 6Pro failed to get a GPS... I was well into my hike, and decided to make a time sync, then tried the GPS track me, and would you believe it, it worked, while the GPR-B1000 had started from go. It could be that I had the Fenix 6Pro off, so maybe it needs to be on a network first, and thus why taking a time sync got that connection??? Yeah, maybe slow, but once fired up it's with you :)
The Instinct is pretty fast hey, impressive being so light too... makes my very old TomTom Sat-Nav look like a house of bricks LML :-P
