I'm a big Jim Cornette guy even though most people hate him and call him out of touch but something he said on his podcast always resonated with me when it came to AEW. This was years ago. He was asked to pick his perfect ten man roster. I cant even remember who he picked but he said if he could pick a perfect ten man roster he's never pick the ten biggest stars in the world. He put it perfectly by saying "if I have 10 seven foot guys then I don't have any giants." And AEW falls foul to this 100%. They have like 20 guys who are all in or around the same level. That doesn't work. You need to commit to four or five bona fide superstar level guys and have a bunch of guys who can legit lose to them and make them seem like bona fide superstar level guys. Then somewhere in between you have guys who can dip in and out of the main even and the upper mid card and maybe if they do a good job they can replace one of the tippy top guys. When they signed the "underutilized guys" from WWE like Moxley and Miro and Keith Lee and Adam Cole and Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews and Miro and Claudio Castignoli and Pac and Ricochet and it goes on and on, all the fans were like "finally they're going to become main eventers and WWE will regret letting them go." coupled with the guys like Omega and Okada and Kota Ibushi and Osprey who people also say "hey we finally get to see these guys on top in a major US promotion." and that's before you get to guys like MJF and Darby Allen and Adam Page and Eddie Kingston and Sammy Guevara and even Wardlow who are seen as the AEW creations because they became big stars there. And on top of that you have guys like Adam Copeland and Brian Danielson who are just legends who the fans will only see as main event guys. There's just no real segregation in AEW. Too many fans with too many favorites who will always be disappointed no matter who is on top.
Drew really made Punk popular again that injury was really a blessing in disguise to start this feud most fans already got tired of Punk you can hear the boos until Drew went full psychopath mode and gave Punk all his cheers back
Personally, I think the reason why I didn’t try the chronicles was because I’m afraid to try something new and not liking it. It’s the fact that I could spend time on things that I do like and feel comfortable with than on things that I don’t. I’m a person of habit. The Chronicles was probably a dope series but I never gave it a chance. I’ll update you after I check it out.
AEW is in a bit of a rough spot after losing two of its major wrestlers, Cody and Punk. Right now, they’re both living their best lives, while AEW seems to be going downhill
Lowkey, seems like AEW is in its rise with blockbuster feuds upcoming, Moxley versus Bryan, Swerve versus Hangman and many more blockbuster feuds. As well as WWE, Punk and McIntyre, Liv and Rhea, Priest and Balor, OG and New Bloodline feuds. 2024 is a good year for both companies. However, if we compare current AEW and AEW at 2022/23. The Quality of the shows has been much better
I had to relook at the Punk shit shows cause the Perry situation made it clear my bias against Punk made me paint him in bad light. He didn't come out spotless, but he definitely looked better
Cm punk is a punk and Cody even sucks 2 who cares about them leaving know one cares there kiss asses period like those who luv wwe still sucks period. Wwe is a joke and triple h aswell boring ass wrestling.
CM Punk coming back to WWE was the best decision he ever made because this has truly been his best run where he feels like a big deal. Varsity Blondes maybe going to WWE would have been awesome can you imagine if those two had made their debut and then become NXT Tag Team Champions. Fuego Del Sol should have stuck with Sammy Guevara as an assistant in his matches. Brock Anderson maybe should be paired with MJF would love if MJF was given a new faction replacing Wardlow with MJF going after the AEW World Title once again. QT Marshall and Hook should have been a feud that would have been a dope feud maybe with Hook getting put over by the Factory. Andrade and The Guerreros was a good pairing and I think they should stayed together maybe targeting Cody Rhodes and the Nightmare Family. Shawn Spears going back to WWE wasn't a bad move maybe having Spears go after the NXT Title and even capture the title rewriting his story.
CM Punk went to work with a bunch of kids hoping all would be good in life, how wrong he was. The Idea of working to inhance the company your working to bring in audiences is a alien concept in TK's indi mindset.
Punk is older than Jack. He could've been the bigger person by laughing it off and walking away. Because if Perry had actually hurt himself due to the glass. Then that was his own fault for not listening to Punk. But Punk just can't control his anger. And started the fight.

"AEW Star" is said very loosely CM punk was already star that didn't even need AEW.
But AEW brought him back to wrestling. He would have never returned to WWE without AEW.
